I am an Indian, and I agree that Kapil dev was one of the most overrated cricketer and if he had played for any other country, noone would have noticed him. It happened to be a novelty in India during the late 1970's to see a bowler for a change steaming in from a distance towards the stump. Imran was anyday a better allrounder and I have closely seen matches, where Imran completely dominated Kapil whether it was bat or ball.

His batting average of 22.6 is considered poor in contemporary era. Same is true for other all-rounders. So, Kapil was one of the only four genuine all-rounders in the history.
