Youtube restricted vids to 10 mins a while back. Videos which are older than the date they put the restrictions on retain their longer size. Googlevideo (which own youtube allow any length video. Go figure!

there must be a way of changing it to a directors account. Because my account was just a normal one and i changed it to a directors one, that was a while ago now so i dont know if its still like that. You could write to the youtube help desk or staff :)

if you had a director account before youtube got bought by google then you can upload >10min vids, other than that, you're pretty much buggered

i really like your series and your experiment and your insights. however, are you aware of how damaging dry cleaning is to the environment? it's a ghastly industry that we may think of as normal but it's really not needed, it's a created need, and it's highly toxic. people cleaned linen and wool long before the advent of dry cleaning :)

I've just seen the teenage affluenza videos. These kids are not affected by some affluenza, they're just damn spoiled. Oh, and by the way, as long as I remember, the white iPods never had 1GB space, so I'm not sure that affluenza video wasn't acted.

Hello Robert. I think they reduced the director's features here a few months ago, which was a complete bummer. Very old director's accounts can still upload more than 10 minutes, but newer ones can't. I was told you can email You Tube at longform at youtube dot com if you wish to apply for the capability to do longer videos.

Say for example you're an AV enthusiast and that's your thing. As oppost to somebody that just buys all the new gadgets to make themselves feel complete.

I wonder if you can rent a suit if that other suit doesn't work out. Your vlogs are never boring, but 10 minutes is a good time, it's hard for people to invest more in watching videos when there are other users to watch. Sometimes it's ok but it's really gotta be special if it goes over 10 min.

I have done a few vids that run over the 10 minutes and had to either remake them or edit the hell out of them, But truth being said, I'm a single mum with not much time, so if everyone was doing 10+ minutes videos then I'd fine it pretty hard to watch as many as I'd like. I think the ten minute thing is fine, also it can be hard going to watch a longer video. x

I just loove your personality. I'm from Denmark and you once wrote me on my channel how you thought, the way we live in Denmark was an example to the world. I think most people in Denmark will raise their children to make do (not in the extreme way though).

I have 2 kids of my own, and when we are shopping, and they see something they like, they always say; "mum, is this for sale today?" ;-) Great video..

Ahh 2 more things!

1. The birds video (If you watched it) They haven't hatched yet, and it's a horrible place to try and film. The parent birds seem to really swoop in and scare you away when you look at the nest.

2. I have a director's account I aquired way back. I guess I got in early, and therefore am still able to do unlimited times, just limited to 100MB. It seems that new directors can't. Not sure if after some time you get it, or not.

Anyway, I think they made it so you can't go longer than 10 minutes, because people were uploading whole television show episodes onto Youtube for everyone to see.... Gotta love those Communists... Of course all you have to do is split the video up and upload it in parts to get areound that.

The 10 minute rule only applies to those people who set their YT account up in the last 18 months. Anyone who had a director account before 18 months can upload longer videos. - (I think)
