  • an immortal melody ! a precious gem most often heard on vividh bharti in my childhood days ! no one in the present generation can even be compared with our great lyricists , music directors and singers of the byegone days , and above all our divine lata ji who is sakshaat saraswati incarnate ! thank you sir for a precious upload .

  • The lyrics and music competed with each other to create these master pieces. I wonder who didn't score a good music those days! Shankar Jaikishen combo was my other favorite composers -- mostly because Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri just spun magic with their words. Today, we run after west. Rehman, despite his classical roots and innovation repeats himself. Of contemporary musicians -- I think Ilayaraja excels. Not a musician, just a fan of great sounds that has lyrical soul.

  • After listening to this gem, only one word comes to my mind

    MASTERPIECE.

  • superb song

  • it is very fantastic song,,,,,,,

  • An English poet once said, "sweetest are songs rendered by a broken heart" which Shailendra expressed as "Hain sab se madhur wo geet jinhen hum dard ke sur mein gaate hain".

So, whenever comparing the old songs with the new generation, please try to recall a single sad song composed in Hindi films over the last say 20 years and you will get the answer. Right? Any comments? mdsundriyal@yahoo.com

  • when i hear old melodies, i can say that songs being composed these days fail to touch my heart. such soul stirring music. i think those days were the golden days of the hindi film industry. now the songs have become more materialistic and too crude and so unbearable. and even if some songs are good to listen but they cannot be retained for longer time.

  • One of the most popular songs ever playd on All India Radio, New Dehli. Wonderful melody my the Prince of Melody, Madan Mohan.

MM = Music Man. MM = Melody Man. MM = Musical Maestro. MM = Madan Mohan.

  • classic...aur kya kaheN?

  • Awesum

  • in other 100 years this REHMANor a .r rehmancant touch even the feet of MADAN MOHAN KOHLI .there are music directors like anil da sajjad hussain roshan sahib and to some extent naushad sahib who can come close to madan sahib .BUT not rehman who sang in C W G ames

  • this song has attained a legendary status . Nightingale Lata. no wonder she loved madan mohan the most amongst all the mds. thanks deepaksgulvadi.

  • toba toba toba madan sahib aur lata jee ki jori ne phir rooh kainch li what an excellent song

  • I heard this song when i was in second class.. Almost after 15 years i am listening to this song again :) thanks a lot for uploading .. Lataji you are just awesome... makes me go back to my childhood days..

  • Wow! I came across this song serendipitously. great song Deepak. Rejuvenated a few old memories. You have excellent channel of old songs.

  • Only Lata Mangeshkar could have sung this song with such melody.

  • another absolute gem........how many times this lady of our heart is making us CRY....

  • A R Rehman cannot even come close to any of our old music directors of India, period.

  • Nostalgic, awesome:

    Ham Pyaar Mein Jalanevaalon Ko

We, who burn in the fire of love

    Chain Kahaan, Haay, Aaraam Kahaan

Do not have the luxury to be content

    Ham Pyaar Mein Jalanevaalon Ko

  • oh what a nice song and all the words make me feel cry thnks.

  • a gem of hindi film music. i am searching song "muzime chhupkar muzise door ye kaisa dastur re malik ye kaisa dastur from film jailor. pl. upload.

  • very good song. geeta bali looked very innocent. lata's voice is a jadoo.

  • What a song!!!

Hats off to Lataji and Madan mahanji.

Both are so great that no words can admire them.

They are Mount Everest for us!!!!

Thanks to that Almighty God .

  • Incredible song! What Raag is this please?

  • jailor;

  • Lata ji at her best. This is genius of Madan Mohan. Pity the jokers who call themselves as music directors of today.

  • Even A R Rahman is vastly OVER RATED despite his Oscar and all other awards- No one is fit to even touch the toe-nails of Madan Mohan, Jaidev, SDBurman, etc. Where has HFM gone these days ???? Ashoe Mahtani

  • i agree with you

  • Agreed! All big trees have fallen( passed-away) , only weed is left out! We have to select best out of these weed.

  • @13APM .. Many share your thoughts. Although ARR is good, his creative range appears limited as compared to the old stalwarts you mentioned in addition to Khayyam, C. Ramchand, Shankar Jaikishen, Salil Chaudhari, RD Burman, Roshan, Dattaram, N. Datta and a few others. Among the new ones Ismail Darbari stands out for his music in Devdas.

  • @13APM I totally agree with u with the addition of all-time best Music Directors like RC Boral, Khem chand Prakash, Gyan Dutt, Kamal Dasgupta, Pankaj Mullick, KK Paul, Mitra, Bulo Rani, Saraswati Devi, etc. of the golden era of film music from 1931to 1949 or so when KL Saigal, Kanan Devi, Uma Shashi, Sitara Bai, etc. used to sing. None of present day Music Directors / singers can match the aforesaid stalwarts even by 1% of the quality of aforesaid stalwarts of the by gone/ the best /golden era.

  • @13APM Just came across this magical melody after a long time; There no-one to match the great Madan Mohan, Salil Chowdhury, SJ, OPN, SD Burman, Jaidev, Roshan.

  • @13APM You are 100% correct. I agree with you.

    Blessings

    mahesh

  • What an absolute Sweetheart of a SONG. ABSOLUTELY ENCHANTING & Darling of a Song. Like an APSARA or Heavenly Damsel singing in some forlorn moods, separated from her beloved in a beautiful scenary filled w/rivers/Brooks,Birds &Spring in full bloom. W/bubbling brooks, birds & animals..as though comforting this damsel in distress.Kitni Pyari Pyari Geet Aur Sangeet,Lataji Ki Awaaz = "Jaise Sone Mein Suhaag,na to kisi apsara, swarg mein yeh geet ga rahen hai jaise !!Thx4Posting this gem w/FULLCredits
