Mirza sahib, you have got great music taste. If you are on facebook, please give me your ID. I want to add you in my friends list. Do you a song of lata '' Jao ge theis laga ke, bohut pachtao ge baalam''. Its music director is Anil Biswas.
This song is used by Roshan lall , as a back groung song for titles, in Malhar ( 51) as well as in Barsath ki rath( 60) also. Malhar version what we hering now is by Latha, and Barsath ki rath version is by Latha and Kamal Barot ( not Sudha Malhothra), Sahir penned the second one , Old one seems to be " Jaanapada " means Paramparic - Arani.Apparao-Hyderabad-A.P.
The greatest singers ever re : Kundan Lal Saigal and Lata didi. No match for these two greats . ALl the rest are one good but these two are like mount everest. Rest of the singers make you happy by touch heart when they are at their best.
Lataji and KLS touch your soul when they are at their best. No one has done that so far.
@chamogaa I respectfully disagree with u. Both KL Saigal and Kanan Devi were better overall singers than Lata in terms of curves in voice and sweetness in voice and style as well. All songs of KLS and Kanan are melodious whereas Lata's good songs are not even 1% of her more than a lakh songs sung by her till now and most of them are Kachra barring this song and others. Lata and Asha compromised with quality of songs for commercial gains and wide publicity in most of their enormous repertoire.
she is a devi. no words can describe her voice and her control over it. just a creature from some other world. I just want to close my eyes and listen to her all my life. thanks
One of truly heavenly songs from Lataji's early repertoire. As I said on another site where it appeared first, there is absolutely nothing as sweet as such classically rooted melodies coming out of Lataji's lips. I love Kanan Devi and Suman Kalyanpur too,but this kind of voice is the finest cream-- so smooth in texture that no one else can reproduce it . Maybe Suman comes the closest. Thanks, Mirzaji
very nice comment!...suman comes closest but is not there; the texture, power and fineness of Lata's voice in the complete range from Low to high notes is just perfect and is hers!...It is like she signs every song she sung at the end...No one can ever reproduce that...All other voices are great voices but are human voices which have trained...Lata's voice is God's voice which has gone through lot of hard work and training

This is the complete title music of the Arjun-Shammi starrer Malhaar (1951). It was penned by Indeevar and vocalised by Lataji under Roshan's baton. Mirza Bhai (IMIRZA777) has uploaded it as movie clip also on 09 July 2008.
This title alaap is on the Malhar LP. This same tune was recycled by Roshan in Barsaat Ki Raat as a duet song "Garjat barsat saawan aayo re" by Suman+Sudha.
a golden divine classical song-----what a lovely song --i enjoy --thanks

This song resembles another song in the same raaga given later by Roshan in Chitralekha-Garjat barsat sawan ayore.
srinivasanchanniga 3 years ago
The same song in a slightly different way is in Barsat ki raat..

The song - garjat barsat was in Barsat ki raat; not in Chitralekha.
