@MaizieandMindy not many tips really?? as spiders go i would say they are THE easiest although they can be reluctant to feed sometimes [i let nature take its course] there is also the standard things, create a habitat with open areas as well as hidey holes ect, dont get the tank more than damp and never leave live food alone with you T, it can damage your spider :)

@derekthepwnagecamper Yup yup, but its not a chilean rose, its a chilean red seen as the store didn't have any chilean rose, her names crimson, whenever i turn the UV lights on the tank on, you can see her colouration perfectly
@derekthepwnagecamper i do to actually ;) , i attempt to handle my T 2-3 times a day so she doesen't become reluctant to handling, which i found out when i thought she was going into a mault so i left her for 3 days, i then realised she wasn't and wheni attempted to handle her she was quite agressive towards me, even though i have never been bitten by her. i adore her alot.

they one of the most placid tarantulas and the bite is not dangerous, comparable to a bee sting although i have never been bitten they simply dont bite without a ton of warning including flicking hairs from there abdomen which cause itching and irritation, remember that chilli rose tarantulas are a good first spider due to there placid nature but are usually a fairly boaring species, they dont web much, can be reluctanto to feed and are very inactive so can prove frustrating to to the new owner
its web thingy is called its spinneratte, and it dont sound too good :S if you take it to any shop that sells them there will be an expert who can advise you, but tbh with spiders and other insects there is very little even a vet can do, good luck mate, let me know how it works out

lol i dunno about keeping the burgulars away here, more like they would like to steal her :S she eats large crikets, locusts and the ocasional baby mouse and there very easy to maintain, 1ftx0.5ft tank, sterile compost, heat mat, thermostat and a bowl with water and gel mix [so she wont drown in it] and thats it good luck :)
you shouldnt hold ur hand higher than the spider, if it thinks your anything but the floor it could well bite without warning but i'm sure you know what ur doing.
i've had spiders for years and just today got a new baby chili :D i had one for about 7 years and it died last week of old age, really sad :(
