  • the 15 is just hanging out! lol

  • do u have any on using signs with inequalities then please tell me.

  • thnx i for got my notes in school ur a life saver

  • nice explanation not fast but really good

  • after watching this i got a A on my last test. My best i used to have was a C. oh my god thank you so much.

  • you have hairy hands :3

  • Thank you so much for the video you explained it better in 9 minutes then my teacher did in a week and a half.

  • I'm confused about the step where you subtracted 3x from each side instead of 2x from each side, because if you proceed to subtract 2x then arent you left with an answer that is x is less than -31? I just wanted to know if there was a rule that made you decide to subtract 3x instead of 2x.

  • brilliant video

  • ok. but what about -2(2x-5)>_ 18 ??

  • I want to do Math like that; Awesome!

  • hmm what do i do if one of them are a squared number do i do the quadratic formula or...

  • Finally someone who I understand! I'm taking my algebra test on this tommorow which If i pass i could transfer to the school all my friends go to :D Really hope I do good , thanks ^.^

  • u r brilliant!

  • my F in math well go up soon!!! >:D

  • @yes1516 i hope so : )

  • @yes1516 same here bro :D

  • @byVexel youre doing this in college?? i did these last year in 8th grade :P

  • @deTocz need this as a base for what im doing in pre-calculus now :/

  • @byVexel oh damn :(

  • @deTocz yh i hope u took good notes or else you'l be back here in 3-4 years :|

  • Please HELPPP!!! ^_^

How would you do: 7x < 7(x-2); 5+2x-x = -x+3-14 ( i know the answer is -8 i just don't know how to show the work to it).

  • you!, yes you! are a life saver. I have my math final tomorrow and this has been one of the parts i have been having the most trouble with, mostly deciding when to add or subtract or multiply or divide. i think i may have finally got that now. i will be taking my SAT's in a few months and you can be sure i am gonna use your videos along side my study books.

  • @laltp glad i could help, good luck with everything : )

  • Patrick JMT > My Teacher =D

  • Really helpful thanx my teacher just does like 1 or 2 problems and I never comprehend it. Make more vids

  • how can i do : 15>= (greater than or equal to) 20 - 5t^2

    15>_ 20 - 5t^2

  • @TheNiniXx that is a quadratic inequality. check the videos on those.

  • @patrickJMT Thanku! :D

  • can ou help me with this? -n-5>_7 i need this by 10- 4-11 please

  • for the second example when you have a variable on both sides the solution set doesn't require you to find the other number to give you a range? the answer is less than or equal to 1 but don't you have to figure out the greater then amount? I hope I make sense. you know like -B is less than/equal to A which is less than equal to B.....

  • can someone help me solve this problem. 2x^2+1<9x-3

  • @jetnation24 quadratic inequality, do a search of my videos about that

  • To the guy who talking,Thanks a million you help me out a lot.

  • i need help on this problem it's 3< 1/3x-2<4

  • How about an equation like (2x +1) / (x +3) > 3. What's the simplest way to solve or do you know any tricks to solving these. I hate making out 2 cases for these by saying: Let x + 3 > 0 and Let x + 3 < 0. Because if x is a number that makes the quotient less than zero (negative), then when we multiply each side by (x+3) to get rid of that nasty quotient, we will unwittingly change the sign of the inequality, so one of these cases yields no solutions.

  • @SysAdmin86851 this is a rational inequality. there are videos on that.

  • @patrickJMT Ahh, duh. Sweet, thanks!!

  • What if the X is squared >_<

  • @CRYPTQUEEN12 then it is a quadratic inequality. just do a search of my videos. there are examples of those as well.

  • u r lefthanded :))) cool.

  • being a junior in Algebra 2, linear inequalities confused me so much, but your video helped so much. thank you!!!!

  • @jessesgirl56 glad i was able to help : )

  • nice vid. i understand it very well keep it up :)

  • This was one concept in Algebra that I completely did not excel at. Thank you so much for the tutorial!

  • 2 hours of our math and the lesson is that

    we still dont get it

but when i watch this i get it for like...... 8:40 MIN!!!

    i wish math is youtube

  • This guy is way better then my bithcy teacher

  • Thank you for helping me...

  • Thank you very much :))) WE HAVE AN ASSIGNMENT you save my LIFE...

  • stupid fucking mother fucking math teacher didn't make any sense but there is no fear when patrick is here

  • Thank you so much! My exam is tomorrow and I procrastinated and I'm so grateful for finding your videos!

  • omg you are my saviour i have my exam tomorrow and i had no idea how to do this! thank you so much! :)

  • How would i graph?solve linear inequalities in two variables such as:

    3x-5y<15

    y ≤x

  • Im so glad i found you just in time for my Leaving cert exams. I'd be lost without your help man. Seriously, thanks :]

  • @comment69873 Well, sorry Einstein! ATTENTION people! We have a fucking genius here! Watch out! Now, serioulsy, get a life! Some people need help, and I have a question: why are you one here if your "soo smart" and calling people retards?! GET A LIFE!

  • @JezMicca

well it takes a retard to fail a grade and it takes a retard to to stand up for a retard. And I get straight A's and pass all of my subjects. And you act so tough on the keyboard but in real life you would not feel so safe standing up to me.

  • thank you

  • Thanks for refreshing my memory! P.S. Why can't you be my teacher! You teach very well!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH KEEP IT UP

  • your teaching skills are superb.

  • THANK YOU

  • do u have any videos showing how to present an answer to an inequality in set notation?

  • omq bro yuh gelped meh just like tht dmm....yuh have the power

  • thx for teching me

  • i hope i was realy realy great in math like you, math is defining me as an adult. i was never good at any kind of math in school, now these failures, have limited my dreams and potential as a person, i wish i can be like you

  • geeeez!i thought i would never ever learn this but i came across your video and i actually understood! step by step is key! thanks!:D

  • THANK-YOU FOR YOU. I SUCK IN MATH SO BAD I AM FAILING AND I HAVE A TEST TOMORROW AND I REALLY NEEDED THIS. THANKS!

  • Just want to say that you helped me learn this so I can teach it to my 7th grader who just "didn't get it". Now that I understand it, I was able to help him. I agree with the other comments out here. You have a real gift for teaching! We'll be looking for more of your videos. You are helping kids all over the country! Must feel good! :)

  • @lisalisa8888 you know, i wake up every morning and read the comments, and 99% are super gracious.so yes, yes it does feel good : )

  • my teacher is really old and you can tell he's getting alzheimers. needless to say im not learning anything there.. thanks for this :)

  • thank you i watched this before my exams :)

  • your videos are amazing i just cant seem to learn from my teacher but just ine of your videos makes math almost seem esay thanks so much for what youre doing keep it up please:)

  • great that helps a bunch

  • i got u man

  • Muah! Thanks ;)

  • i like your handwriting, and the fact that you're left handed it's easier to see :)

  • put videos up about precalculus :)

  • @GirlyGal503 i have like 500 precal videos in case you missed them...

  • man thanks cus im a senior and math is my worst subject. u made things wayy easier for me then my teacher ! i will be watching more videos since you can explain things throughly.

  • Thank you for this video. Really needed help!

  • I wish my teacher in class had a pause button. Thanks for the tutorial sir, it helps a lot. :)

  • lifesaver

  • Well, that's one less aspect of mathematics to study about tonight.

Mathematics tutorial vidoes, here I come.

  • Your videos are amazing! I am failing Algebra, but I am slowing getting my way back up. Your videos are clear and not confusing like my teacher's. You make it easy for someone with A.D.D and dyslexia learn math. You teach slow and it is clear. I feel like I can actually learn something. Thank you sooo much! You are a life and grade saver!!(:

  • @lunamoon1014 your not slow, you were only fast

  • think you just saved me from failing my maths Gcse! :') thankyou so much (:

  • Freakin awesomeee. this helped me a LOT. but I'm still having a little trouble with it, since I wasn't in my algebra class for the entire section on linear inequalities. I get stuck a lot when I have multivariable inequalities, but no parethesis. for example, say -x-4>3x-2. I can't get it. I know it's easy, but I still need the help for my slowwww moving brain. :D

  • The majority of students that comment and view are 8th grade honors students (as am I). Thanks Patrick

  • this is so easy!

  • If only actual classes were that quick and easy and not so convoluted. Thanks Patrick. Appreciate the tips.

  • What about when there are fractions in the problem?

    like: Y < -5/3x +2

  • @xxXMaKaNoXxx You have to multiply the 3/5 to get rid of the number and turn it into 1. I dont know why you have 2 different variables?

  • wow..

it really helps me a lot..

    thank you for this video..

we have a quiz tomorrow about inequalities..

and also ratio, proportion and variation..

    Godbless

    and more power..

    ^_^

  • i didnt know if to change the minus sign to a plus and you helped me hope i get a A

  • @moodycheerleader Certainly not an A in english!!

  • gr8 vid bro , u jus made 9th grade algebra a whole lot easier thx

  • gr8 vid bro , u jus made 9th grade algebra a whole lot easier thx

  • Comment removed

  • @SDpower13 then don't watch it, dumbass

  • thanks dude i got a test on this 2moro and finl exams for math thursday and friday so this really helped

  • Ok, I am eigth grade and i am an honor student at my school, my one problem is the 9th grade math class i am taking and, i did not understand this. once i watched your video and yourteachermathhelp, i almost understand (:

  • Thank you very much-as an eighth grade honors algebra student, I came across this video during a search, and learned more in this video that I probably would have had my teacher taken the full 80 minute period to explain this to me. Thanks again!

  • @gvtfan no problem!

  • @gvtfan you have 80 minute periods???i only have 53 minute periods....i am also an 8th grade honors student =)

  • @TalkDaTech Yep...80 minute full blocks, 40 minute half blocks.

  • this is better then nova net=)

  • @itookapissinyourtea you are welcome!

  • its was complitly different which i had learnt .

  • Whenever i have something to look up, i type it in youtube. The first thing that comes is PATRICKJMT! Even youtube knows this man here is a genius, and can explain like one.

  • this is really helping me out thanks so much

  • Another great vid and excellent progression from the first on this topic. You've officially been bookmarked as my online tutor!

  • @MrLittletomdj i am always here : )

  • what about this 2x^2+17x+21<0, what do you do when theres to x's in the inequality?

  • Thank you so much

  • That's what im talkin about ...clear as water

  • wait i thought when you divide by -1 u switch the symbols

  • Thanks patrick!

  • Patrick can you held me on this problem 3(8+6Y)<2(9Y-12)

  • Solve each inequality. Write your answer using interval notation

    -4 < 5 - 3x <=17

    wtf? theres two operations

    any ideas?

  • @AlDumbrava you can do a search of my videos for ' compound inequality ' and you will find a few examples to explain

  • NVM

    i figured it out

i split it into two different inequallities

    -4 < 5-3x

    and

    5 - 3x <= 17

once you work it out the answer is [-4,3)

  • thank you a lot!! you explain it so easy.

  • What about ones that have "and" and "or" in them?

    Like "3-4x<1 and 5 + 3x <8"

  • Thank you for sharing the video and I like the way you explaine the linear equation. You are smart. After watching this video I've learned the linear equation inequalities, especially the greater than or less than sign, greater or equal sign. :-)

  • Dude, awesome! But I swear I got mindfucked somewhere in your video. lol

  • Thank you so much! I am a great listener and a not so good reader, so this helped tremendously. ;)

  • When they teach this at school it seems hard but when I watch this Vid its so fuckin' easy

  • How on earth can you inhale all of those fumes and still do math? Kudos man.

  • really good. thank you

  • @alexandrabon07 thanks!

  • hey patrick my irish textbooks refer to Abstract Inequalities alot. any idea what this translates to in american math language? Can find Nothing online about it

  • @himrawkz not sure

  • @patrickJMT teachnet. ie /pkavanagh/2006/#abInequalities

this is a link to some examples. do you have or know of a video that shows these?

  • What If i had more then 2 variables

  • thank u soooo much my teacher can't teach

    ur amazing thank u =) !!!!!!!!!!!

  • thank you very much, alot of help.

  • :( not what im looking for

  • thank you so much i feel much better about my math test now

  • @shystinkanator good luck on it!

  • @patrickJMT thank you i got 101 ojn it all thanks to you!!!!

  • OMG

    nice handwriting

  • Holy crap, man! This helps so much! :D I have a test tomorrow and now I FINALLY get it!!

  • thnks

  • thank you very much

  • thanks

  • exellent

  • its best........ it really helped :P

  • thnx soo much! i finally get it now! =D

  • tnx so much you ve been so helpful. God bless you

  • This is really helpful, i do the inequality differently though

    X + 5 > 8

i bring the 5 over to make it a minus so 8 take 5 equals 3.

  • Thanks, really assisted on homework.

  • thanks your a life saver

  • you forgot the open bracket n then xlx inequality sign n then 3closed bracket

  • hi, whoever you did this video you are the biggest idiot ever no life noob it honestly really grinds my gears!! :P

  • thankx . nOw i can pax my exaM ;)

  • Thanks man, this really helped me understand the material

  • omg thank you so much im only in the 8th grade and i have to take a test on this and i completly forgot everything and this helped me a hole lot like i feel so smart thanx again ;0 ;) :)

  • Dude holy crap same xD

  • you the shit bro

  • thanks, I dug the vid.

  • I have one question though, how would you put the inequalities on a coordinate grid?

  • Thank you very much, this helped alot. I have a test for Algebra 1 (advanced class) tomorrow and this helped alot. You've just earned yourself a subscriber :)

  • I'm in Geometry this year and I'm taking an Algebra 2 Honors Placement Test on Tuesday. Everything has completely slipped my mind, and watching your videos, it's all coming back to me. Reviewing with your videos will give me the confidence I need to pass the test :)

    Thank you!

  • great job!

thanks for including every single step!

    very helpful indeed!

  • Thanks bro you teach better than my college teacher...

  • How can I solve |x-1|+|x+1|<2 :(?

  • lol that's easy man.. just remember theres an imaginary 1 infront of the brackets so the brackets get removed

    x-1+x+1 < 2

    2x < 2-1+1

    x < 1

I think lol im new to this to D:

  • I already knew this but I just had to make sure my head was in the right place. Thanks

  • You teach well! Thanks

  • i dont get how you got -3x at 2:58 after you found out that 5x3=15, can you tell me? :)

  • Youre real good in teaching bro...thanks

  • you>my teacher

  • I fucking love you. No homo. <3

  • yea dude i couldn't listen to the whole video, those sounds ur making with ur mouth is pissing me off alot. Srry can u plz make this video agian

  • you should be a math teacher :)

  • OMG YOU SAVED MY LIFE

  • excellent video. Helped me explain this to someone else.

  • thanks for the help but its anoying when u make that noise with ur mouth

  • You're pretty much the only one in youtube that i can learn things from.....
