Wow. This is a very momentous video. I remember when I was a kid. I sat there and watched every Daytona 500. I cheered him on big time and felt sad that he didn't win, but still proud that he finished 2nd. This is the one year that I was unable to watch it due to a baseball game for my school, and wouldn't you know I missed this very moment I'd been waiting for. I don't think youtube was around yet. I'm glad to finally see this after 14 years. It's a very warm video. thank you for posting.
honest to God i wish anyone that disliked this would come to RICHMOND, VIRGINIA to tell me why you dislike this.if i dont like your reason you're gonna get that bumper peppered by some buckshot out of my REMINGTON (dale sr used remingston) 500 WITH A 3 INGRAVED ON THE STOCK
@SCryder07 Tonite I watched Matt Kinseth win at Daytona and It led me back to this video of Dale`s win a Daytona......for 10 years I stayed clear of Nascar. Partly cause after Dale died I didn`t know who to follow and partly cause a sport that I loved so much had caused me so much pain when Dale died.
@snoman003 I have finally realized that Dale would be horrified that fans would be driven away from the sport that he loved so much because he died. Remember this, there is someone out there that feels the same about Mat Kinseths`s win tonite as we did about Dale`s win. It is time to move on and continue to enjoy the sport of auto racing.
@snoman003 Find some one new to follow.....that doesn`t make you a traitor to Dale`s memory...It is what he would have wanted....for the race to carry on. Well done Matt! (BTW You suck!)
okay, these commetators are awesome! the espn broadcasts today suck! for example: tonight in the Natonwide race at Texas on the last lap he said "and Carl Edwards takes the white flag at Charlotte"!!! WTF?! I want these guys back!!! the only good broadcasts for NASCAR today is Fox will Darrel Waltrip!!
also it gives me goosebumps watching the line of teams congratulating Earnardt. i miss him so much!! :(((
The best line from the commentator was - " He's won at this track 30 times, He better than anyone knows his way to victory lane." I sure am glad I got to see the greatest driver ever in this sport.
often imitated but this man was never intimidated he was the intimidator. Petty might have bee the king of Nascar but Dale Earnhardt was Nascar. I cant wait til i get to heaven and watch him race again on those heavenely tracks against all the past greats that have graced heaven doorstep
@gypman921 i dont wanna thumbs up your comment cause it has 3 thumbs up already, but i have to agree with you entirely....what a great race he must be runnin up there
Its almost sad to see this and know that there will never be a act of respect and congrats in Nascar history. No matter how much i see this it always amazes me.
One of the most greatest moments in the history of NASCAR....I cried when he won and it was tears of joy...He will forever be the greatest in my book...
Shit happens, he won the race in fine fashion none the less, Dale Sr. along with the King Richard Petty are the best racers in the world, better this F1 loser Lewis Hamilton who if Dale ever raced on a road course Lewis would only be seeing Dale's Bumper
Love that line by the commentator - "This will be the LONGEST receiving line in the history of celebrations!" - that was great! But, it was sweet to see all those crewmembers out there, and even greater to see Earnhardt shaking EVERYBODY's hand!
that shows the ultimate respect right there, how every single team goes out to congradulate dale on pit road, this is one of the best moments of nascar
Richard Childress's grandson races the #3 in the lower levels of NASCAR, and maybe will one day bring it back to Cup. (His grandson approached Richard and asked permission to use the #3)
I wouldn't of agreed more, I mean me and my dad watched the race and we both were taken aback when every crew memeber on Pit road shook his hands! I am not gonna forget that race, that's one race to remember!
