StefanPriceUK: I don't quite understand your comment or what it has got to do with me and my appreciation of a great player? Being a guitarist in a working band, I'm fully aware of how the 'scene' has changed in the UK over the years (I've been playing for forty-odd of them!) and the reasons why. We are not in disagreement on that point. But...if you're interested, you can still find muso's out there 'doing it' if you care to seek them out! Hang in there and peace, bro.
I was at his first US gig (in Portland) and there were only about 25 people - I was so embarrassed and thought "he'll NEVER set foot here again".... but he surprised me and played a magnificent set last night. Albeit only about 200 or so fans, but he is so gracious and loved our enthusiasm. He is a MASTER and the most under-rated performer (at least in the states) of any genre.
He was in Portland last night,A little theater with a couple of hundred people. Whats with that, this guy is a phenom. Best show great guitarest. The band was tight. My voice is raw .

Matt is going to be in Winter Park Colorado on June 24 and 26 for Blues From the Top. This is going to be exciting. Everyone knows to be ranked at all in the Blues in Britain you have to be brilliant.
Lovely. lovely stuff. This is how the blues should be played. I feel an overwhelming urge to go and strangle the heck out of my Strat...

@hogsbelly63 There isn't a blues scene in the UK like there was in the 70's, and where I live there is no scene for guitar players at all!
