@hatemf23 oh yeah i know exactly what you mean...but if there is gonna be a WW3 it is pretty much gonna be over oil...the world is gonna have 2 evolve & it needs change...sure its gonna require hardships but we need 2 learn 2 be self reliant, INDEPENDENT!! from the poison fossil fuels.....& threw his history we see change comes from war...
wait, did she go through those slideshows alphabetically? If so she must have been already at G for genocide. How come now of all times she is surprised? (especially after she witnessed Corban mowing through those pig aliens, which shows quite an aggressive killer instinct)
@SethBlizzard as I said, I assumed she went through that dictionary/lexicon alphabetically. But since we are not told in the movie(only that this is part of her language training) this is just an assumption.
@DeHerg She started researching in the Priest's apartment, and later she told Korben that she had gotten to V. But it wasn't just a dictionary, the Priest said she was learning human history of the last 5,000 years, 2786 BCE to 2214 CE.
This scene really illustrates just how awful war is. You can glorify it, support those who contribute to it and such but eventually, if humanity doesn't want to blow itself up, people are going to have to mature (and evolve), throw down all of the weapons, forget about such crap as "honor" and "army strong" and just STOP FIGHTING
Too bad the majority of people cant see that war is just a money making business and is staged but the deaths are real, but most ppl are too brainwashed to see that
ABSOLUTELY RIVETING THERES NO WORDS, when i see this everytime since the first time as a child when the movie came out till now as adult. I cry and get chills all over! her face says it all, she can convey so much with one look. its astonishing. brilliant and untouchable.
@BiljaMinai "human nature" is one of the biggest lie that has been told to man espicially, "survival of the fittest", if you cant see that, then your just a robot like the rest of the brainwashed herds
s'est incroyable comme le jeu d'acteur est réaliste, les pupilles qui se devellopent ,l'expression d'horreur du visage etrc...s'est la perfection meme.
This is a powerful scene. I came looking for this clip after discovering the new information site, "Qwiki", which actually referenced the movie "Wally" as sort of an inspiration for its information display "experience". Do you recall when the captain asked the computer to "define Earth"? That moment made me consider this film, which I felt sort of pioneered the concept with the "WAR" search. It's cool how science fiction can pave way to technological innovation. Be on the lookout for Qwiki soon!
@Superhaze what that we are so jacked up our primary interest is how we can use technology to exert power of others. The world today is greatly influenced by Nietzsche, sure the line is very canned but it is still true. The enigma of man is that we are capable of good, but instead commit evil, sure we do go to war over nessecary causes but why do we in our sophistication lack the reason to avoid war? I guess human nature will always be our flaw.
@Yakuza0234 False unfortunetly... Try and you'll see. Mostly pictures are from videogames, movies or drawings... Almost nothing of actual wars. And God knows there is/were countless.
War has become common in our lives. And that is really sad
They wage wars for profit and greed to cover up their past greedy effects upon their domestic populations and to continue to conceal their continued greed. They utilize munitions like depleted uranium and force babies to be born with, and live with, horrid birth defects for the term of their lives. They lie to their populations in regard to the reasons for the wars and convince or forcfe them to support them with tax dollars and they slaughter dolphins for fishing bait, for profit. Enough said.
There really isn't anything more to be said. They are evil. They are evil and self-serving. They always have been. I regret that they exist. Even after I have prevented a war, they make me sorrowful that they exist because of their continued immoral and unethical activities. I cry for them, I cry for you and I cry for myself. I regret that they exist.
One of my all time favorite scenes in one of my all time favorite movies. This little movie that so many people never watched because it looked silly, exposed people to more sophisticated concepts that almost every other movie they could have watched. Fifth Element ranks up there with the Matrix, in terms of all time award for courage of vision. FE expressed the world we live in, and how progressive is Love, contrary to the conservative stance. Matrix expressed philosophical ideas we ignore.
"The release of atom power has changed everything except our way of thinking...the solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind. If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker."-Albert Einstein
Same here. And most if not all of those are from the 20th century. In the past 150 years there has only been about 2 years of peace in the world apparently. There's alot in the bible that describes the times we're living in now... 'the last days'
That music as the finger goes from W to A to R, and then the eye going wide, as an innocent being is exposed to the worst crimes of man in recorded history, ending with that terrifying image of the hydrogen bomb.
@LazyJones1 Yes this scene is haunting... This perfect human being facing to the memories of the worse "human" crimes, and as you say, "that terrifying image of the hydrogen bomb"... It's really poignant, and it makes us aware of that "humans" are capable of doing the best and the worst things.

My State representative, who I had considered to be a friend, when I had shared documented evidence of many immoral and horrid acts on behalf of our own government, corporations and financiers, told me that greed is good. I am crying for all of humanity. I prevented a war.
