  • Not good, these guys are just trying to over complicate the piece in an attempt to show off and make up for their lack of ability to play something more subtle, with groove

  • lol at the people saying this doesn't groove....those people just suck at keeping tempo!

  • I find these Version of "The Chicken" interesting, wenn extreme too.

But who cares? The guys has fun, and they can play this Idea correctly.

Relaxing, interessant, and typical japanish! 5 *

    Greets from Germany

  • @PopaRaff you'd like morgan agren's version of the chicken....that saxophone player has some very serious power in their version!

  • @xxxslayerxxx666 can you send me the link of morgan agren's version of the chicken?

  • weird sounding, doesn;t groove at times....

  • NOT COOL, where's the groove?!

  • Hmm. Clever? yes, but musical? I don't think so. But that's just my opinion. I have two quotes in mind from my years studying music long ago; First; "if you can't cover a song better than the original, then don't cover it'. Second, "He who takes a thing apart to see what it is has left the path of wisdom". Jaco was ALL about groove. If you don't get that, I think you've missed the point. This failed on both counts... Sorry.

  • Different...took me a minute, but Im digging it.

  • @toofpick151 @toofpick151 It's based on quadruplets, quintuplets, and septuplets that are sporadically spaced, though the tempo was a bit too fast for septuplets to really function as something that can be recognized easily. Well, quadruplets are actually something that's basically called regular 16th notes.

  • !!!!!!!!

  • LOL. you guys are great perhaps do some new compositions to expriment with sure alof more people would ppreciate that cluding myself.

  • @jPapa2008 Hey,it's exactly the other way around. We had long been playing some of my CPJ(Contemporary Progressive Jazz) compositions that are far more complex and then tried implementing then into some simple tunes to let people know what's going on. Pls. try checking out some of the stuff by CPJ MUJIK.

  • ANNOYING YOU HAVE DESTROYED THE GROOVE!!!!

  • Quintuplets and Septuplets might be hard to capture but once you feel the basic beat correctly, you would see how the groove miraculously stays right there.

  • @andyvai

It's just that U still live in the previous century.

  • @CPJMUJIK dissing people because they don't hear the groove on this is childish and selfish. If Jaco liked this believe me he would have done it before he passed. There are parts of the song that are ok but most parts I feel like the song is skipping like a scratched CD. Quintuplets and septuplets would work maybe on an original song or some other kind of cover but not this. Sometimes you should stick to the basics and that doesnt mean you have to repeat the same stuff over.

  • @andyvai Well, if you are aware of the groove in quintuplets and septuplets, it might just be the difference in the likings, but what I can say is it's NOT easy as something that Jaco would have done even if he'd ever wanted to. If you are able to handle stuff like this, you would be able to tell that. it's always true that something basic is important, how fast you get fed up with that tells you the level of artistic capacity.

This is not what I wanna do. I do this on my originals basically

  • jaco is crying, what u guys doin ?;p

  • @taniazzz

Quintuplets and Septuplets are not recognized by a lot of people, but Jaco would be excited to here this innovation.

It's 21 century already, there's NO meaning in repeating the same things for a hundred years, man!

This is NOT Jaco's tune anyways.

  • Hell, yeah! You guys are nuts. A unique and brilliant twist on a classic. Bravo!

  • @rustOfunk

Thanks for understanding it! Your ears are far advanced.

  • damn japanese

  • @MMMuller

What the heck do you mean by that!

  • Great stuff! I like the way you play off the bass, great tension and pulling back the music.

  • how can they play such music!!!!

  • I mean, septulets! These words are NOT really common, though.

5-note figures and 7-note figures, they might be called!

Divide a quarter note or half note into 5 or 7 and omit some notes out of those 5 or 7 to get a groove that is really rare!

    7連符 = septuplet = 7-note figures

  • one of my fav!

  • "Metric modulation" a title for what I love in expressive playing, dividing up the pulse, doubling the tempo, what in a higher world is known as "playing music".

  • This is superb musicianship, the stuff that makes me frizzle to play more and more.

  • @snowypetrel Thanks a lot for the comment.

  • Was this intended to be a little odd?

  • NOT a little.

    with quintuplets and sextuplets!

  • @GlenSir Well, NOT a bit.
