I have performed this song at 2 Minnesota Twins games and I sing this song every night in my show, and I never screw this song up BUT! I messed it up when I was a teenager at a Football Game.... I have performed this song at 2 Minnesota Twins games and I sing this song every night in my show, and I never screw this song up BUT! I messed it up when I was a teenager at a Football Game.... All I have to say is that it takes a strong person to sing this infront of alot of people! And she had a great recovery!.........Nice Job

oh my god if you were singing the national anthem at a football game at 17 you just became runner up at Idol and you are a star you are singing it in front of the world and you messed up a little you would be mad at yourself but the reason you would have messed up would be because you were nervous and you obviously have to high of esteem to give a fuck about people dont you think that people are hard on them selfs enough to make them sick

I love the people who get on here and dog anyone who screws up the words to the national anthem....they act like it is so easy to stand up in front of thousands of people and sing your heart out..NO one is perfect....and I say go Lauren...you got guts!

i sang this song all throughout highschool for peprallys,football games,basketball games..etc..&it is EXTREMELY nervewrecking! &thats just infront of my peers at school!!A couple hundred at most&my leg would shake, my voice tremble at times,granted I never messed up the lyrics,but my point is its EXTREMELY nervewrecking to sing infront of people, let alone millions-on national tv, singing our countrys song!! So to all the people w the negative comments I would LOOOVE to see you attempt this.

@MonsterOrange14 Adele...who is an absolutely amazing, incredible, and just overall fantastic singer, period, gets nervous before she has to go on stage. She once tried to escape a show. They couldn't find her for at least 10 minutes. Should she stop singing? Hell no.

@kurtywurty85 i personally dont like adele so i could care less if she was singing or not. that is beside the point, she needs to know BEFORE going out there the words to the most important song in this country people fight and die to keep this alive and she didnt even bother to memorize the words. if she simply panicked because of being nervous then she had to know the mass numbers of the crowd and expect this before agreeing to do the show or even singing and performing in the first place

If I was 17 years old, singing the National Anthem aka the hardest song to sing musically. I would be SO nervous. Don't try to tell me that she doesn't know the words, she's sung it before. You go ahead and try to sing on national television, in front of millions. Come back when you do better! Hating is rediculous. Lauren's amazing. And it takes a lot to continue, she finished strong. I feel like you cant judge her for messing up if you've never been in a situation like that. How do any of you know what it's like to be in her position. You don't.
