Harry Kim was a hard-working officer and he remained an ensign when Maquis terrorists got promoted above his head. Even Tom Paris, a convict, got promoted to luitenant straight from civilian above Kim, got demoted to ensign and then repromoted to luitenant. Then he had the nerve to ditch him for a belligerent half-Klingon terrorist. Poor Harry, he never even gets laid (well, once, but he got radiation poisoning from that so it doesn't really count).

loved harry!
in 'killing game' he should have been promoted for his efforts alone in that episode. he was the only reason that the ship was saved.

I liked Harry. Some of his finer moments were completely overlooked. He should've been promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade in Endgame! I was so sad when he wasn't. Thanks for this.

he was an awesome officer and he did lots of admirable stuff and he stayed an ensign... how is that possible???

I disagree totally! Kim was the worst main actor on Voyager and one of the worst on all of Star Trek. The guy can't act, was never convincing and is just plain annoying.. (episode 'The Chute' was an all-time low)

Haha, I don't agree! I think Chakotay is one of the characters on which many fans disagree. Though his characters itself was plain, simple and unconvincing, this was the case with almost all Voyager characters.

Are you kidding me? You must really hate Harry. I can name a few that are definitely more annoying than Harry on Voyager alone. Janeway, Neelix, and Tuvok! Janeway was always so self righteous and way too compassionate. Neelix was just annoying, and Tuvok was as stiff as a dead body in rigor mortis.
