  • Ain't Maynard...this has gotta be Buddy

  • If you click the link it goes to the buddy rich recording

  • Who played tenor on this?

Kinda sounds like Steve Marcus, but a more coarse sound.

  • man i can actually play this excact arrangement on my trumpet!!

  • without mercy 6 people would be dead

  • I don't understand how ANYBODY could dislike Mercy, Mercy, Mercy, this is not my fav recording but I LOVE this song

  • Go Buddy Rich!

  • this is a buddy rich recording but joe zawinul wrote this tune

  • THIS IS BUDDY RICH!!!!

  • Mercy Mercy, The Buddy Rich Big Band

    Live at Caesars Palace 1968

  • I like this song.

    This song is cool.

  • Maynard Ferguson uses other people's songs but is still great

  • @ berrypossum yeah, actually it is the song, just with IMPROV ever heard of it?

  • It's Bill Prince on trumpet.

  • Listen to the song mercy mercy on the side PLAYED BY MAYNARD FERGUSOn and yopu will hear the same as this!

  • Another annoying arrangement that has nothing to do with the song. Oh well.

  • Regardless of whom.....it's awesome!

  • wow this guy is canadian like justin beiber! that's awesome. i guess all the super good musicians come from canada

  • @93mr0 I recommend a new kind of nationalism to you all who are proving less interest into music than countries: all super good musicians come from this wonderful planet earth !

  • yes you are right this the Buddy Rich band I think on the Best of Buddy Rich album

I have copies of this chart full orchestra and i also have Love for Sale from Big Swing Face. interested sandimasmustang@aol.com

  • The person who posted this is a moron. There are at least two songs he has attributed to Maynard that are clearly not. This is Buddy from the album titled "MERCY MERCY". Couldn't be more obvious. Maynard, to the best of my extensive knowledge, NEVER recorded or played "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy". And to anyone who wants to argue this point, DON'T DO SO WITHOUT PROOF. We need an album title or dates when he played it. Otherwise, get a life.

  • 100% Buddy Rich.

  • lol thats the Great Buddy Rich and his band

  • I have to disagree about the "no screamers in BR's band" remark. John Madrid is one of my favorite high note players, he lets loose in Rich's live recording. Not trying to split hair or anything, and Maynard still trumps them all though.

  • @cet0708 Eric Misahiro too!

  • @ieatbunnies3

I can't disagree with you there, Eric is an amazing player.

  • This isn't Manyards arrangement it is Buddy Richs. Still great recording though. I play this in our schools Sr. Jazz Band. We are thinking of playing it in the National's

  • yep i can tell you now, this is buddy off the mercy mercy album

  • yeah...it buddy rich, i just listened to same thing on itunes in jazz band class lol

  • Um, this is Buddy Rich. I have this exact same song on iTunes. Definitely Buddy not Maynard.

  • @englishnerd09 nowhere here does it say it was written by maynard . . . . maynard played it...

  • @englishnerd09 you're SOOOOO right. It's on the LP "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" :-D

  • Deffinateley Buddy rich, got this exact recording!

  • It's buddy, sorry, off that '68 album. I don't believe mercy, mercy was ever recorded or played by mf

  • Comment removed

  • That can't be maynard...I didn't hear any trumpet screams

  • Thanks for posting all of these songs! However, you probably should double check song titles and artists. Thanks again.

  • Yeah, this was Buddy Rich, i've got his live album also, lol. The MF band is really close to BR I guess, lol.

  • not lol

  • hahahahaha i had no idea buddy rich played with maynard. hahahahahahahaha

  • buddy rich big band!

  • Yeah, this isen't Maynard, I've come across this track which said it was Maynard but after listening it for 30 seconds, I knew it wasen't him.

  • Did Maynard ever record this song with his band? If so, can anyone give me a link for it? Thanks!

  • Yes, this is definitely The Buddy Rich Big Band. It's off their "Live" 1968 album recorded at Caesar's Palace entitled Mercy, Mercy. The amazing lead trumpet on this track is actually Al Porchino. In the liner notes for this album it says that he could "lead a brass section safely through a forest fire". Great song.

  • i love m.f.,this,however is buddy rich

  • Great......
