@buddhasis My family comes from farming in Michigan and my late uncle helped charter lakes in the U.P.Flyfishing,and tying flies, were taught at a very young age. I agree with(??..lakeisgreen) that a lot if these comments are unnecessary, and should b removed. Anyway,I know what you mean.
i fish small creeks like this all the time and its not as easy as it looks.. you have to find the fish my personal favourite sports are culverts then figure out how your going to get your bait to it. congrats on the catch
@Eric2827 does it really matter? fishing is fishing. its not a comp or anything. if he is having fun catch (or trying) to catch fish and relax its fishing.
hey fat boy thats not fishing, using 20 lb test and rippind a poor brookie out like that. it wasnt even a lb. you get like to bites out of that thing. fat ass
All of you retards, if you weren't a bunch of hillbilly's, would know that trout do in fact have scales, they are just ridiculously tiny, and all fish, not just trout, have a slime coat, which if dismembered could potentially and most likely lead to fungus. Trout are just a particular species of fish which are more sensitive to changes in their environments. When water is warm, just catching a trout, especially the Brookie, can be fatal. Fish are intolerable to lactic acid buildup.
First, brook trout aren't actually trout. Second, trout DO have scales. They are very small but they do have scales. I'm not sure whether Brookies have scales or not since they aren't actually trout but my guess is that they also have very small scales.
@gandaw welll well i learned sumtin today ....i looked up rainbows for fun and they are fr the salmonid family,,,,,, so wtf is a trout LOL i guess ill chek browns...and it seemsd they are the only true trout? if oim wonrg plz correct me :) happy fishing!
@therealCanablisS Rainbows, cutthroats and other WEST COAST trout are the only true trout species. Brooks and browns are both Char, and not trouts. Trouts ARE in fact salmonids.
Good catch. That is my favorite kind of fishing. No people and wild brookies. What up with the music tho? It sounded like you should have been driving an 88 bmw with a pony tale.

Lake run browns are stocked... fingerlings are stocked in the feeder creeks and rivers and then return after they mature. We fish feeders from western NY to Ohio... and when my daughter was 3 she was catching steelies on a noodle rod with sucker spawns. I fly fish, spin fish, musky, walleye, smallies... whatever. Stop acting like a purest deush and let people enjoy fishing however they choose.
there use to be a lot of brook trout allover Parry Sound but people dont practice catch and release...common people lets leave for the next generation to also enjoy the such great past time
@coachhannijr exactly,I agree with this guy %100.... IDIOTS,#1 buy a fukn fly rod already#2you can tell by how hard he fought to get the hook out that it was barbed for sure, nice amount of blood coming form it...disgrace to fisherman
How the heck do you force feed a fish? If a fish doesn't want to take the bait it won't take the bait, seems like he presented the bait properly and the fish took it, maybe your the one who needs to learn how to fish if you don't understand this simple concept.
you force feed by keeping the bait infront of its face for so long and then the fish has no choice but to take it, why dont you learn how to fish you old fartin turkey
Again, how does the fish have no choice but to take it? If it doesn't want too it wont take it, seems like he is just drifting the worm to the fish repeatedly, no different than drifting a fly over a pool multiple times, repeatedly dragging a plastic past a lethargic bass, or trolling past a school of stripers multiple times. Do you suggest people give up after the first try?
ive had steelhead and brown trout and rainbow trout out of the water for alot more then 15 seconds and they swam away strong..
im sure trout can take a beating when they travel miles across rocks and logs to get to there spawning grounds.. i think a trout can take a lil more then 12 seconds out of water
@ibanez860 Actually browns and brooks are very fragile and you need to wet your hands before handling it or else you remove the slime coat with the adhesive from your hands...

@buddhasis u faggot cunt talkin bout shit that YOU no nothin bout those farmers are keeping u cunts alive u go fuck ur mum cunt dont pretend like u no its 1 of those things that its the natural rivers problem let it sort it out now fuck off cunt b4 u get king hit!
@pureawsm94 Kids always resort to name calling when they lose an argument. Why is that??? My husband and I grow most of our own food in a farming community. My husband's family have been farmers since the 1800's but they are a very green farming family. Read the newspaper links I posted. The issue is that there needs to be balance to be found and currently fish are taking the brunt of this. I happen to love trout fishing so it's important to me to continue to see their habitats taken of.
okay you people are retarded there is no proof he used a treble and anyways if you did and you got caught the conservation officers would fuck your ass so hard that you could not take a shit for a month. And anyways single barbless hooks can still be a bitch to get out if the fish swallows it.
i accidentally killed a big brook trout when i caught it. i accidentally hooked it in the gill. it dropped on the ground few times, becaue i couldnt grip it. it unhooked itself when it fell once, and i think it tore a organ. when it got back in the water it started to bleed. i tryed to revive it, but it turned upsidedown and started thrashing every once in a while. after a few minutes it died. i felt so bad. could anyone give me any tips about how to handle a trout even if its gillhooked? ty
yeah if your fish has the hook in the gills its best to just cut the line and not try to get the hook out cause it just tears it apart and same goes for swallowing the hook too.
If you hook a fish in the gills it will die regardless of what you do. The best thing is to prevent it in the first place. Don't use treble hooks, pinch down your barbs and set the hook quick. Never remove a fish from the water. Release it in the water and have wet hands before you touch it.
learn about conservation. i have no problem with people eating stock trout, but native and wild trout already have a tough time surviving without treble hooks and people keeping them.
Another stupid comment. WOW is something you can go play. Filled with ghetto bitches and you. Get somewhere in life faggot. you wont complain so much, bitch
thats bullshit ive released trout being out of water more than 15 seconds and they swam away just fine and besides why would that matter considering its prolly gonna b sittin next to some mashed potatoes and green beans anyways
Dude when you have one of the cleanliest rivers down the street from you , you fish ! i go 2 times a week . Next time i go i'll make a video to prov . I've fly fished one time and it wasnt even fun .
the best natural bait there is , worms (i hate when people fish in a small brook like this with fly fishing rods , i dont get the point , spin rods are the funniest way to catch trout !!)
well no disrespect,I was just saying he did eat it. I always handle fish I plan on releasing with the most care I can, always getting my hands wet and cold for the trout before handling to remove hooks,no method of fishing is better than any other to me,I just enjoy fishing with a regular open face reel and spinning rod,but some may be applied more effectively in the right conditions
what im saying is, its bad for the fish..... lets say you land the fish and decide not to keep it after you have had a closer look, if you've handeled it with dry hands teh damage is already done. its not the end of the world, im just saying its bad for the fish, and theres a 'proper' way of doing things.
big deal and he ate it didnt he? Fly fishing this, fly fishing that.there are many more methods than waving a big stick aroud to catch trout, plus you can reach many more spots using conventional spinning gear
I fish for trout with spinning gear and I get em pretty good. Fly fisherman may look down their noses at the heavy hardware (big sliding sinkers/jigheads), but damn, they DO GET the trout! Sliding sinker on 4lb test with a small hook and piece of worm always does well!
That's the least of the trout's problems. It's basically a dead fish from the time he stuck his fingers into the gills. You can see arterial blood on his finger tips.
nicce there amazing fish to catch the best ive ever caught was a 8 pound palmino or gold trout i think it was a breeder that was the funnest ive ever had in my life catching a fish
I cant wait for trout season to open up here in my favorite stream here in southeastern ontario (just 20 more days) the beavers made a dam on the creek and it made the creek shitty for a while, but the dam busted open last sunday because of a flood and it scoured out a nice deep hole I gotta try.
Anyways, really nice fish buddy, and they certainly are good eating, there aint no harm'n eaten a few trout!
definately, i eat these fish at least twice a week and it does differ from other trout. the ones i catch have a light pink flesh, and are almost like a light flavored salmon,
mobstamainiac in maine theres not a choice if you fly fish you have to up here in northern maine the waters have regulations it to much of a hassle to find a spin fishing area you must live to far in the city or fly fishing is just a tad hard for ya
People who say fly-fishing is better than spinning just want to feel they are doing good at fly-fishing themseleves, to be honest I think that fish fight better on a spin rod because of the lighter line, though that all depends on the type of rod you have.
People who only fly fish and h8 spinning
are most likely ppl who don't fish much who buy a shitload of gear and call themselves a good fisherman and have never picked up a spin rod and given it a flick.
man great fish somedays when i just cant get the brookies to take my nymph i just like to use worms but try to fly fish that stream im 12 i only started to fly fish last seasone trust me they fight better on fly rods
Nice trout and way to go on the spin tackle. I just skunked a whole bunch of purist fly fishing bastards on a stream outside of Oleans, New York this past summer using ultralite spinning tackle and tube lures. 7 limits of brookies + two fairly large browns caught and released and none of them had the first bite, but damn they looked like they were right out of a Cabela's catalog.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Spin Fish piece of sh**....use your cheap ass spinner on a garbage eating bass. You don't deserve to catch brook trout they're out of your puss ass league. You're worthless
Deviltread I know you were gonna eat it but honestly you did yank it clear out the water into the tall grass. I don't think it would have survived if you had decided to release it. Nice stream I wish I had one like that around my neighborhood.
It was never going back in the stream Jackass. It was bound for the frying pan, I keep a few for the table each year. I will keep a few more this year just for you sporty fags..lol

the best natural bait there is , worms (i hate when people fish in a small brook like this with fly fishing rods , i dont get the point , spin rods are the funniest way to catch trout !!)
boxinglife123 2 years ago
well no disrespect,I was just saying he did eat it. I always handle fish I plan on releasing with the most care I can, always getting my hands wet and cold for the trout before handling to remove hooks,no method of fishing is better than any other to me,I just enjoy fishing with a regular open face reel and spinning rod,but some may be applied more effectively in the right conditions
Joeskateapool 2 years ago
what im saying is, its bad for the fish..... lets say you land the fish and decide not to keep it after you have had a closer look, if you've handeled it with dry hands teh damage is already done. its not the end of the world, im just saying its bad for the fish, and theres a 'proper' way of doing things.
Chadasdf 2 years ago
hands should be wet when un hooking brook trout, they have a layer of slime wich protects them against infection.
Chadasdf 2 years ago
umm, im sure these guys ate them for dinner, so that really doesn't matter.
hayman84 2 years ago
i love to catch brookies cuz theyre crazy, but they are soo small and overfished, its sad. Nice fish though
SurvivourDude 2 years ago
big deal and he ate it didnt he? Fly fishing this, fly fishing that.there are many more methods than waving a big stick aroud to catch trout, plus you can reach many more spots using conventional spinning gear
Joeskateapool 2 years ago
Nice job killing the fish by unhocking it poorly :/
STarkmanWiee 2 years ago
NICE JUST LIKE THAT.
SDKDOUGSDK 2 years ago
I fish for trout with spinning gear and I get em pretty good. Fly fisherman may look down their noses at the heavy hardware (big sliding sinkers/jigheads), but damn, they DO GET the trout! Sliding sinker on 4lb test with a small hook and piece of worm always does well!
pantucci 2 years ago
nice fish.
next time please make you hands wet, before you hold this fish.
renekorve 2 years ago
That's the least of the trout's problems. It's basically a dead fish from the time he stuck his fingers into the gills. You can see arterial blood on his finger tips.

I cant wait for trout season to open up here in my favorite stream here in southeastern ontario (just 20 more days) the beavers made a dam on the creek and it made the creek shitty for a while, but the dam busted open last sunday because of a flood and it scoured out a nice deep hole I gotta try.
Anyways, really nice fish buddy, and they certainly are good eating, there aint no harm'n eaten a few trout!

can you taste a difference when eating a native brook trout, compared to a brown or rainbow..
Comingtoyaaahaaa 2 years ago
definately, i eat these fish at least twice a week and it does differ from other trout. the ones i catch have a light pink flesh, and are almost like a light flavored salmon,
alittlecountry09 2 years ago
If they're going to eat it, it really doen't matter what the hell they do with the trout.
I chose spin fishing, it works best!
TroutWI 2 years ago
mobstamainiac in maine theres not a choice if you fly fish you have to up here in northern maine the waters have regulations it to much of a hassle to find a spin fishing area you must live to far in the city or fly fishing is just a tad hard for ya
MadawumkeagBrookie 3 years ago
People who say fly-fishing is better than spinning just want to feel they are doing good at fly-fishing themseleves, to be honest I think that fish fight better on a spin rod because of the lighter line, though that all depends on the type of rod you have.
People who only fly fish and h8 spinning
are most likely ppl who don't fish much who buy a shitload of gear and call themselves a good fisherman and have never picked up a spin rod and given it a flick.
mobstamaniac 3 years ago 4
around here, the fly-fishers thinks themselves as a higher level fishermen.:)i do not agree.i love spinning.

man great fish somedays when i just cant get the brookies to take my nymph i just like to use worms but try to fly fish that stream im 12 i only started to fly fish last seasone trust me they fight better on fly rods
MadawumkeagBrookie 3 years ago
aside from the fly and spinning debate,(i do both) do you release the fish or legally keep it?
angeloamericano 3 years ago
Nice spincast! haha why don't you man up and try this on the fly
sae1288 3 years ago
Nice trout and way to go on the spin tackle. I just skunked a whole bunch of purist fly fishing bastards on a stream outside of Oleans, New York this past summer using ultralite spinning tackle and tube lures. 7 limits of brookies + two fairly large browns caught and released and none of them had the first bite, but damn they looked like they were right out of a Cabela's catalog.
maynardp12 3 years ago
LoL yeah snaggin no problem there. lol HOLY SHIT =) I do have to say that Brook Trout are the best eating.

Spin Fish piece of sh**....use your cheap ass spinner on a garbage eating bass. You don't deserve to catch brook trout they're out of your puss ass league. You're worthless

cmon you fags he was obviously wanted to eat it. he immediately brought it on shore. and i still think it would have lived after that you fags.
Sgthavoc12 3 years ago
Deviltread I know you were gonna eat it but honestly you did yank it clear out the water into the tall grass. I don't think it would have survived if you had decided to release it. Nice stream I wish I had one like that around my neighborhood.
kevn99 3 years ago
Nothing wrong with catching and eating a nice brook trout. Sounds like some fly fiherman are jealous. Congrats!
