@ThizIszMike probably because if you drop ur phone the hard case would fall apart or crack without the silicone. a lot of cases are pointless for that reason, especially cheap ones on ebay.

I just picked up a Tour and I like the new style with the built in screen protector....Its very nice! That one is even harder to get off!

Hey i was wondering if you could post a short vid on how to take the otterbox off. I have one on my blackberry but my dad is the one that put it on and i can find out how to take it off. I need to adjust the screen cover and even though i saw you put it on for some reason i just can't seem to take it off. But i'm a pretty good visual learner.

Looking at the phone from the side:

It is 3/4" thick at the top and 5/8" at the bottom, the phone length is 4 1/2". The phone is a little more bulky but I think having your phone protected this well is worth it!!!

I have an Otter Box for my BB 8830 and love it. It definitely add bulk, but I have kids and this cover has saved my phone a number of time.

One word of advice for the bubbles on the protective film... I didn't use the suggestion in the directions about using soap water at first, but the bubbles drove me crazy too, so I decided to try it. Simple, and the bubbles are completely gone. Totally worth doing.

Blackberry spent ages shaving millimeters off the design to make it really nice and stylish and these cases just make it look clunky and really ugly. The curve is quite tough anyway, I have had mine 9 months now and its still in great shape with no cover.
