Someone asked about nose riding? I have a 5'0 that I nose ride. I feel like it has to do with the wave. When the waves is at the right speed and angle I can sometimes set up my rail and ride the nose.

Back in the day I think it was more in our heads than anything else. When we all began to ride shorter boards (my first was a 8' 6" V bottom) we convinced ourselves that you could not nose ride at that length!

@74LesPaul ...hi...funny my first shorter board was a v bottom two...it was a horrible board though....not that all were...but mine was....eventually i went down to a 5'11''....which i sometimes nose rode....fun is fun

How long does a board need to be to be able to nose ride on it? I started out on long boards and then went through the short board revolution in the late 1960's. I had a Gordon and Smith Stretch noserider that was 9'4." However, when my boards got to be 8' 6"'s I stopped noseriding them. But you could nose ride an 8'6" ? Long time ago. . I forget some of these things!

@74LesPaul I walk my * footer, but its rather thick like 3 inches almost, but 8 footer and up is good. The shape of the board also affects the skill and feel
