  • What a fantastic video!

I'm brazilian and I really dream going to Stanford to share this positive spirit that it has. I'll be there very soon.

  • Hemp fibers = win. I applied to Stanford this year. I really hope I get in.

  • It is true that John Hennessy really has some wonderful stores to tell. These stores will absolutely amaze you. Now listen to how John introduces the research on how the brain works. When John tells you about the research that Stanford is doing on brain research it is truly incredible. Oh sorry I wrote incredible when I should have wrote incredulous. Standford's specialty is in form and definitely not function. It is the Madoff of universities. One look at John and you see a used car salesman

  • @cheddyrod Your point being what, mister "I'm a genius, I'm so brighter than all these people working their a**es off to try and make things better" ? Serioulsy, when you don't have a clue what you're talking about, you should probably not embarass yourself like that...

  • @cheddyrod

Agreed with 22clem22 about embarrassing yourself.

Maybe if you had gone to a school like Stanford, you'd be able to voice coherent arguments instead of sounding like a pissed of Cal student.

And, incidentally, your incredulous comparison wasn't witty. *Try* to be at least grammatically correct if you're going to *try* to sound intelligent.

Speaking of form not function, IRONY!!!

Used car salesman vs. Silicon Valley entrepreneur worth many millions...on the board of Google....

  • @danashton9 My comments were about Stanford's brain research. If you had the ability to read and understand what you read you would have seen that. Even though you obviously lack reading comprehension, you and 22clem22 should do well at Stanford. :P

  • @cheddyrod Right. That reading comprehension bit where you talk about brain research in any facet. Or even appeal to any semblance of logos, instead of ethos.

    Nice try buddy.

  • @danashton9 There was a study done by Stansfeld and Matheson that is relevant to your problem of not being able to comprehend what you read. This is not only your problem but also most children in the USA. For proof of this look at America’s PISA scores. Your writing is also below par due to the fact that you cannot read. You are writing in incomplete sentences. If your goal is to only go to Stanford then your poor English skills should not be a barrier to your success there.

  • @cheddyrod It's internet jargon. You're an absolute tool.

Don't critique the essential work of the others that keep the world spinning (i.e. Stanford) with your hastily googled and trite drivel.

If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Quit being a part of the problem and foster some novel thoughts.

  • @danashton9 You are an absolute asshole.

  • @cheddyrod I have just pointed out how you've been degrading about one of the most universally respected universities in the world. Nothing personal, it's just a view that I took issue with.

  • @danashton9 Stanford IS NOT one of the most universally respected universities. Maybe America but definitely not the world. You do know what the WORLD thinks of America, If you want to learn about brain research check with the University of Hong Kong. Now that is truly a university that is respected for their research.

  • @cheddyrod ...yes it is. Look at any ranking system, number of peer citations, or even nobel prize count if you doubt Stanford's global respect. Your view isn't the global one.

The world doesn't have one view of America (it's highly variable), and although the University of Hong Kong is great school as well, there are scores of great schools in the world. No school has a monopoly on quality.

  • When he told "to really understand..." I thinked "oh! This video would be so interesting if now he tells: ... "understand how the brain works" ". LOL!
