I believe whaat we need to do is agree to disagree for God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that who so ever believeth in Him shall have everlasting life. John 3:16
Christian mean Christ-like. Jesus will save you if you ask Him into your heart and repent of your sins. If you don't believe in the Bible, then no more can be said.
This song has always been a favorite of mine. Ricky definitely does it justice. My husband introduced me to the Rambos music in 1969. We enjoyed them so very much and i still love to hear this family sing!
great voice, a gift from God, he should remember who gave him the gift!! I am disappointed in Rickie, about 8 years ago, I ran into him in Conn. as he was walking out of his of his bus. I asked him if i could get a picture with him, i had the camera in my hand. He gave me a surprised look & just went back in the bus, i waited BUT he never came back. Ray
Ricky, you look so content while singing this great song. Keep serving Jesus and He will lead you. I'm so glad you stopped drinking. You and Bettye deserve a wonderful christian marriage.
I dont believe as ricky does but he was born to sing this music. I am happy he turned back to the church if thats what it took to save him from the booze & the life that comes wiith it.
A real American classic that will not be forgotten. His mistakes can be but the man will not.
Dottie put into words what so many of us could not verbalize for ourselves and for that I am grateful for that comfort. Ricky 's voice expressed it so well- I have missed his voice! I can't get the song off my mind so I hit replay afew more times! Thanks for posting!!
My sweet Grandmother passed into eternity nearly twenty ago. This was one of the songs sung at her funeral- one man and his guitar. My whole family was touched and blessed by this man and the music he shared.Only now do I find out that Dottie Rambo wrote these beautiful words and melody.I am not surprised- Dottie has shared her love for the Lord in lyric and melody for so long.Thank you Lord for Dottie- what a blessing she has been to the hurting in this world.
Dottie was such a pretty lady with a tremendous gift. I miss her, but believe she is in that Heavenly Choir!! I would have liked to met her here on earth, but I will she her in Glory. Thank you, Dottie for all the many, many songs you've written and shared.
I llove the way Ricky says he's glad to be a part of this and everyone watching is blessed by what they see, not by what they hear. This Tribute to Dottie Rambo, I guess was one of the last times Ricky Van Shelton was on TV. Anyway, it is a sure shame with his talent for it not to be used again. I Have Ricky and Bettye Shelton in my prayers. Gwen Weaver 7-22-2010
OMG.........I THOUGHT I'D HEARD AND HAD ABOUT EVERY SONG RICKY HAS PERFORMED!! I WAS PLEASENTLY MISTAKEN!!! I MISS HEARING HIM ON THE RADIO AND SEEING HIS VIDEO'S ON TV!!
I'm thrilled to see Ricky Van Shelton at Dottie Rambo's tribute. When said he was glad to be a part of this, and people go by what they see not what they heard. I hope this is in reference to something I read to be not true. But, I'm not going to judge and what is important is that Ricky has the Lord in his life and singing for Him.
I'm so glad Dottie asked you to be there, too. I believe you helped many to humble themselves. I love your voice. Please always use it for God. You know, there's no reason to drink. It only satisfies the devil. Let's show him that Jesus provides everything you need. Gwen Weaver 6-18-2010
I have always loved this song. I didn't realize that Dottie Rambo wrote it. Ricky Van Shelton sings it so graciously. I miss Dottie and I also miss Ricky Van Shelton. But God has His perfect plan for all of us. We really should keep our eyes on Jesus.....................Gwen Weaver
@dupreesfan223 I don't believe Ricky abandond his fans. He has his reasons for retiring. We Christians need to pray for one another and I pray that one day he will record a gospel album. Isn't this a beautiful song he is singing, "Sheltered in The Arms of God"? I believe Ricky & Bettye are probably right where He wants them to be................Gwen Weaver
@dupreesfan223 ...Ricky hasn't abandoned his fans. He had to make a decision about his life. He has struggled with some issues. I'm sure he carries a broken heard. His family needs him. I understand that he is in process of recording another gospel album. Please everyone, just pray for Ricky and Bettye. God will put him where He want him and his wife to be.
I love to hear Ricky sing. He has a wonderful testimony and I'm so happy he and his wife are together. What a special love they have together and to Jesus Christ.
I have one of the best collections of U.S.country singers in the U.K. going back before pre ww 2, having heard this song for the first time it went imediately to the top of my favourite songs I have tried but cannot obtain the video any where, can any one helpPapa Joe.
Dottie rambo, southern gospel singer/song writer, look up a song she wrote called"momma's teaching angels how to sing"the oak ridge boys, made it a big tune in 60's-70's.may God bless you & yours..
Very comforting words and a truly amazing voice. One of the best versions i have heard. Lets not miss the point though...it isnt about the singing...does it not remind us of the greatness of our Lord and Saviour...is that not the most important thing? The Lord has used this song and is still using it 2 bring blessing 2 many saints across the world who r facing hard times. I wouldn't swap my salvation for all the money or fame in the world.
with a smile to replace the look of pain on his face. He is in good company in heaven. He is looking down on you and is happy for you. Your father will always be in your thoughts and your heart.
Gosh it has been quite some time since I have heard Ricky sing, and I am sooo glad I came upon this video. God's blessings to Ricky, and yes, Dottie is with the one she has loved for such a long time. She has given us so much!
Comfort yourself with this hope,,that we will see our loved ones again. It is okay to grieve,,by our grief we honor those who die. Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.
Farewell Dottie. Dottie has left this earth on Mothers Day 2008. Dottie was a gifted Gospel song writer such greats as Elvis ( "If That Is'nt Love")has recorded her songs. Farewell dear Dottie Rambo thank you for your message to the world forever and ever!!!
