  • Try some facts such as annual rectal exams are generally not needed until age 40 except under certain circumstances. Testicular cancer is most common in men between the ages of 15 - 40. Testicular cancer is treatable when detected early, treatment can save a man's fertility as well as his life. Men detect testicular cancer early by doing self-testicular exams. Prostate and colo-rectal cancers do not normally occur until after age 40. Some injuries and infections may also require a rectal exam.
