I thought Jordin did have the best vocal on there. I mean, Melinda is great, but really, this song really doesn't have a LOT of range, and she seemed to be stretching a little on some of the notes... She did it justice, but jordin usually picked songs with more range and showed off her amazing voice.

NONE of you know how this show works. It's NOT a talent competition. No body buys music that way. They buy their favorites. NO ONE would buy Melinda's album and her CD would tank. It doesn't matter if she had the best voice. Her style and sound had litttle to NO commercial quality. The buisness abides by your choice as a consumer! The truth is PEOPLE are hypocrites when complaining about the music industry/american idol when their superficiality are what is making the rules.

Melinda got robbed. She was BY FAR the best that season. They need to re-vamp the voting process and take the 100% power away from 16 year olds who vote 5,000 times each. Have 50% for the audience vote and 50% judges vote. The audience advances some of them who don't deserve it (hello Sanjay??). Melinda definitely should have won that season. I hope she gets a good record deal.

Jordin's performance on this night cannot compare to Melinda's. Yes, Jordin is good, but her pitch wavers in many places (typical for her) most audibly at the end, I suspect because she does does not have the breath support. If you listen to the last 6 shows, alternating the Jordin tune with the Melinda tune, the difference is striking. There really is no comparison. Melinda should win. All votes on Melinda.

If you compared the 2 outstanding performances of the night: Jordin's and Melinda's, you'll notice that although Jordin was more powerful, she didn't really know how to control her breathing, and it ended up being *sing gorgeously* *INHALE* *sing gorgeously* *INHALE*. Melinda on the other hand you could see her breathe, but you could barely hear it.

That one's horribly easy. It would be fun to see the stage hands recover Jordin's mike. All singers using a mike, unless standing right back, "wet" the mike a little or a whole lot. Jordin's must be pretty runny, because she holds it right close. That's where a lot of the power comes from, and explains, partially, the very audible breathing.
