  • @WeedChat do you even know where i'm from? ..free health care is very standard in my country, and have been for about 80 years. like our educations, which also includes acedemic studies. and btw, our unemployment rate (6,1%) is way lower than your 8,1%. but, it would also be quite ridiculous to assume that a person like you could have his declarations made emphatically.

  • AH como amo está banda-a letra é bem bacana.ATMOSPHERE.

  • @WeedChat *claps* I'm impressed on the fact that you couldn't read it correctly. Did I once say anything negative about rap? No. All I was saying was that I COULD say the same about it if I wanted to. But I didn't. In fact, I got a lot of hip-hop and rap CD's+LPs. So unless no one can read in context these days, my point is clear as day.

  • Fantastic band ...thanks for this.. CURTIS was a legend..and still is..like so many that sadly now are no longer here..

  • fuckin genius ...wot a band

    rip ian xxx

    rip joy division xx

  • fuckin genius ...wot a band

    rip ian xxx

  • @WeedChat It's not satanic. It's not shit. And there's no point in comparing rap to post punk. I'm not going all at you like others, but don't come in here calling this a waste. I could easily say the same thing to your preferred genre. Music in general is art, and we need to all pay respect to the greats.

  • im 14 & it makes me upset that im growing up around rubbish like n-dubz and chipmunk instead of these amazing bands like joy division. :(

  • I love this one too ... I love all of them in fact... now I can give a face to Ian Curtis .. I thought that he was very strong, hairless, about 30 years old, and in fact i see a very young boy, who was a genius, 23 years old, unbealivable, the music is pure, the lyrics are perfect, the scenes used, the images, so in advance for their time, the 70's to the 80's there were some genius, like him, but he's dead, that makes a legend of him.

  • Even if im being Tortured by a psycho egocentric nazi, i would enjoy my death if im listening to this. !

  • Brilliant

  • if joy division and voice of Ian and his lyrics don't get to you, then you have no soul. he was a rare REAL tortured soul and kept giving until he couldn't anymore. i have loved this band since i could think for myself, timeless.

  • Music will never be as emotional or as beautiful as this again... I feel so deprived growing up without bands like Joy Division

  • amazing

  • Niesamowita kapela /// Amazing band

  • heath :)

  • Turns out "Joy Division" was just the opposite. Watch the movie "Control". Great performance by Sam Riley as Ian Curtis.

  • Wow. Great song.

  • Why did you walk away, Ian? What the fuck there was in your mind?

    Walk in silence.

  • in this life you seldom get 4 flawless minutes of beauty....but here they are.

  • does anyone else here see this video all the time when looking for Atmosphere(the rap group)? i always see it but never have clicked on it, and its a good song. Wierd though. If you havent heard of the rap group atmosphere, i strongly reccomend checkin them out

  • @WeedChat wrong, i'm 20 ..and comared to you not some ugly white trash hillbilly boy from shitty canada!

  • Listen to Peter Hook's bass as it moves along the song.

  • Those Jawas are sad.

  • mooist

  • The ending of Control with this song is one of the best things I've ever witnessed.

  • @WeedChat dude this is Joy Division alternative really talented pre punk band rap has nothing to do with Joy Division or Britian for that matter dont get me wrong i love alternative, punk, rap, ska, metal rock ect but dontbring in an entirely dfferent genre on here and proclaim it to be better then another because as i saw down there you cause conflict somethings are better not said.

  • @WeedChat get the fuck off here with your rap shite.....no one here wants to hear that here.......

  • I REMEMBER SEEING JOY DIVISION REHEARSE IN A LOCAL SCHOOL(WYTHENSHAWE MANCHESTER) BACK IN 79,DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THEM TILL MANY YEARS LATER.WE CAN REMEMBER THEM BUT NEVER RECREATE THEM

  • @kansasinnovember That is fucking cool

  • although his english he sounds kinda american when he sings.

Please dont hurt me but he does in this lol

  • Sorrow can be beautiful, and this song is proof of it.

  • @WeedChat why don't you screw your low-iq bullshit rap up your ass? this is art! this i freaking joy division!

  • This has always been my favorite Joy Division song. Ian Curtis was a true artist and poet.

  • Dear WhiteLight1515, i'm so sorry about your son. I feel for you. Wonderful song to remember him by. Paulie x

  • It is af if his voice is affected by the medication he was taking. I always think about that it was all in the time of second if not first generation psy med.. Science still was pretty clueless unfortunately about the major mental health challenges like epilepsy, clinical depression, schizoprenia and so forth. Even with the obvious difficulty he still found his voice to express his art, I truly admire that....He's a beacon 2 any1 with physical or mental health problems aspiring art

  • @zia4reel sorry to rain on your parade, but no psychological medication would force you to sing of key. if overprescribed, they might make one a bit mushmouthed and slow in their speech. true, however, that the kinds of meds at the time were only barley understood and often did as much damage as aid. still today, things like xanax are given out like aspirin to people who exhibit signs of anxiety, but can be highly addictive and even deadly when given to people prone to depression.

  • so very good

  • heath kirchart stay gold!!!!!!!!!!

  • who directed this video, its really cool.

simple but effective.Looks like Anton Corbijn,

now that i think about it.

  • Hace 3 años odiaba estaba canción, me daba hueva XD

pero ahora... el tiempo ha pasado y me pone la piel chinita, la letra es hermosa

  • YEEEEAHHHHH HEATH!!!!

  • @maxamilionare could you even call it a part? I don't know about you but I was shitty....I mean yeah he filmed for mindfield but that and stay gold were all he's been doing for the past 7 YEARS and then he has like 4 new tricks in stay gold? psshh....

  • Must remember that Ian was the lyrics behind JD but Bernard Sumner was the musical arrangement at the time - nuff respect !

  • U just cant top this ! Substance over style and image !!

  • no matter hw old i get, or how my life changes, i will always walk in silence

  • no matter how old i get, or how my life changes i will always walk in silence

  • Magic...

  • @ugliest7 Don't dare spam on a Joy division song ¬_¬

  • Ian's story is a sad one, the poor guy, i guess it all happened too fast for him to cope. within about 5 years he was famous, having an affair and had gotten epilepsy then at the young age of 23 he committed scuiside leaving behind his wife and daughter.

  • goodbye heath

  • you can see new order being born out of the ashes of joy division brought on by ian curtis' untimely death in this song.

  • Check out the most unique cover of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by searching "Love Will Tear Us Apart - Comanche"

  • @bluenotesiren No one could ever cover that song!

And should possibly be hung for doing so.

  • R.I.P. Ian Curtis.

  • Love Joy Division, but the video is very creeeeepy and scary?

  • @AMBASSODOR I agree , I dont care for the video and I dont think it fits the songs mood very well.

  • @AMBASSODOR : yeah how come no one mentioned what appears to be KKK references or what the hell it means?

  • in continuo contrasto tra coscienza e cuore....i love Joy Division

  • @ronaldo1poppin don't ever come back to this video..moron.

  • @ronaldo1poppin idiot

  • ME AGREE TOTAL!

  • Song makes me literally cry for no reason right now, and Im a pretty good mood. I just realized today that life sucks and the world is total fucked up greedy bullshit. But you know, it's supposed to be that way, and I accept the fact that my future may not be that well. Fuck it. : )

  • @skulldrix its called the New World Order.

  • @skulldrix word!! but we can make the difference between that fucked up future and a better one

  • @skulldrix

I wish I could accept it as well:)

  • @skulldrix Yeah, easy come easy go, good riddance to you, loser. It's supposed to be that way. What an idiotic realisation. It's just angsty poetry, nothing nothing more, nothing less. The world is all things, never just a single way of your choosing.

  • Man, this takes me back. I still jam this bassline everytime I pick up my four string

  • creepy and depressing but i got the whole concept

  • I misclicked a button and ended up on a Justin Bieber video song...had to come here for te cleansing of my soul. I feel alive again now. Thank you.

  • @WhiteLight1515 hope u wont know any other sorrow.

  • @WhiteLight1515 ...I agree... this a great tune...and I can always see my brother(who died tragically young a few months before Ian Curtis) whenever I listen to Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath....strange

  • I wish I had words to speak out my love for Joy Division.....

  • @fieldofunions exactly

  • He has one of the most amazing male voices ever. So deep, so emotional . I miss him. God took him because he was too good for this world.

  • I dont understand how anyone can dislike this. The jokes on them, they enjoy shit music.

  • ian curtis was a tortured soul.

  • offical video?

  • could you tell me the name of this song i goes like this (i think it's joy division)

na na na na naaaaaaaaaaaa naaaaaaaaaaaa nana na

  • @DoctorRobert66

    justin bieber

  • @DoctorRobert66 lol, lol, lol, lol, ääääähhmmm .... yeah sure ....

  • Can anyone help explain to me the symbolism behind the cinematography of this video, Im always a bit shit at these kinda things

  • @maddocuk The Ewoks look for Mr Bean but find their KKK cousins.

  • I keep listening to this song over and over again. No other song seems to touch on some of the feelings I have inside like this one.

  • I'm proud to be from Manchester :)

  • @NeverforgetIloveyou I don't blame you , it's a cool place.

  • @NeverforgetIloveyou One day I'll visit and tear through your record stores and leave a happy, happy girl!

  • Beautiful comment, Mangina. I agree.

In other subject, anyone else think that this video have a similar content-at least in "cinematography"- to Seventh Heaven(or Seal) from Bergman?

  • huh, 162 people accidentally hit the 'dislike' button. unfortunate.

  • blah! tune this band were gods-old enough to remember

  • O "problema da existência" leva o homem de gênio a exprimir o seu medo, a sua dor. O resultado disso é a arte. Você deixou sua marca, Ian Curtis.

  • without joy division and tony wilson R.I.P. we would never have had some of the great bands that we have today........far to many to list.

  • bob fucking dylan!

  • RIP

  • R.P.I Ian, how we miss you

  • does anyone else think this sounds A LOT like running to stand still by U2?

  • @Marchofdapigz Bono has always credited Joy Division as one of U2's biggest influences.

  • @Marchofdapigz

Thinking about it, it does actually. Bono made it no secret that he is believer in joy division! :)

  • beautiful video

great send off for a man whose life ended far too soon

  • RIP Ian you touched all our lives

  • You should all be more like Ian Curtis and kill yourselves

  • @BornScreaming seriously, if you all want to separate yourselves from the crowd of mediocre bottom feeding hipsters, and really stand out as a true artist. art, brah. art.

  • @BornScreaming fukn ass

  • which movie is this, pleeasee???

  • @TheMissmachee its not from any movie.

  • Certainly one of the most beautiful songs of all time. R.I.P. Ian Curtis.

  • this song was composed to kill

joke.. :P this song is very beautiful

and I love joy division, although

Brazil and it would not have had

    much influence here.

  • @Guilherme1498 Understandably so. It is serious and deep stuff, not what Brazilians like most. Sadness in the land of Carnival? I am Brazilian, and used to get fresh Joy Division's 45 rpms sent by mail from England.Don't get me

wrong. I am old, but not the "oh the good old times kind".This was for then, not for now. Anywhere. Had Ian survived, I am sure that J D wouldn't much longerThey new better, see New Order(with Ian or not). Not the "reunion type" of band, great then, decrepit today.TxGod

  • @openmindset Sorry if you find it offensive. But it blows my mind that people in Brazil are listening.

  • @openmindset I understand that music is serious and profound, but also meant that she is a little 'bitter'.

About the New Order (i ever heard of this band is the successor to JD, but with 'sounds' different), well, I really thought it was a reunion of sorts, but now I see with new eyes.

    Sorry my bad english language.

  • Lo máximo esta cancion, es una obra de arte.

  • if you like this band, you should hear interpol (just great)

  • @tahiri07 or Editors for example:)

  • Beautiful song , made me cry.
