What is funny here... try using both of OSes for week or two, and then see which is faster. In my own experience every windows runs fast when cleanly installed.
Today I decided to root my Hero since HTC totally fu*** things up with update. Anyway, I was forced to use Windows XP after like 2 years... I can't describe how frustrated I was, everything was so slow I though it would take me for ever to finish what I had to do. Windows is installed on brothers computer which is basically the same as mine :)
@thebigbubi yeah I know that... for me personally boot time is not that important since I never turn off my computer, but it does contribute to overall feeling of the OS in question. But then again, keeping windows running more than one day with heavy usage is not really smart thing to do.
i like to install ubuntu in my laptop but windows 7 is pre install and i cant leave windows 7 because i think windows 7 is much stable...

@sonpremo Windows 7 is easier, but not more stable.
If you like cloud computing, downloading, streaming, etc, Ubuntu is safer.

@AmiableAdder i disagree with you. Ubuntu now is easier than windows. The most users just don't give a try.
