  • Thumbs for the other guy that stayed with Scott.

  • @TheNattpyre agreed, however in this sport it is considered standard

  • @okolnost That's one of the aspects I really like about Triathlon and Ironman. Although it's a very individualistic and "egoistic" sport, these actions show things that current society lacks.

  • Good job, Buddy!

  • Im from mexico it is really motivatly for watching it congratulations alex53mx

  • scott u are truly iron man

  • Scott you're a legend.

  • GO HARD OR GO HOME

  • What is the title of the movie these clips came from

  • shit....i knew i should not have watched that, now i want to do this too!!!

  • i will be an ironman, the question is not if I do it , only when !

  • Well done Scott :)

  • Blaxboard is an idiot, its a feel good story of a lottery slot, you must not know jax about the event if your asking that question. Good job scott.

  • Beautiful clip, great motivator. I'm 19, I'd love to do this one day but I don't know where to start. Can somebody shed some light :-)

    God bless.

  • @Flash786 First thing u should do is find a Triathlon club in your area/country and start talking to triathletes....find out about training/ boot camps etc.....also learn to swim if u can't as many ppl who want to do triathlon aren't strong swimmers.....

  • Hello again: Thank you, G00n3r4Life for your kind words and well wishes. There are no limits, only the ones you set for yourself. I wont say preparing for an IronMan Triathlon is easy as pie but I will say that, with dedication and passion, anyone can do it. If you decide to take this challenge, make sure the reasons behind your decision are pure and true. Don't do it to impress anyone, do it for you. In the end, it will be YOU AGAINST YOURSELF on that 140.6 mile Journey. Thanks again.

    Maria

  • I'm sorry, but I'm disappointed in you. Your finish in Kona was Stellar. We all hit difficult roads in our lives, but somewhere down the road, you quit on yourself and I can't support that anymore. Your blog always has a negative undertone. I lost more than 40 pounds in the last year and a half and it's because I set my mind on it. You have will have to let go of whatever is holding you back and push forward. PS. I still LOVE your finish!

  • You are a true inspiration to me...six months ago I was 312 lbs had gastric bypass to save my life…Now down to 184 lbs. I swim, bike and run and it is an addiction…I have no restrictions, no limits…I accomplish everything I set my mind to…your video was a huge part of my success. I know I will be able to one day compete as you did at the I/M …because “I Can”

  • @enl422

  • @Blaxboard I think that kona have some kind of lottery system where you can apply and its selected at random and other slots are given out from reading your special situation. But I have a similar feeling you; although it was really great to see scott getup and finish the race. I personally think kona (the world championships) should be awarded on time from a previous IM. So many people who get under 10 hours don’t get slots because there are only 50 being given away in one ironman.

  • @Blaxboard It always amazes me that people can find something negative out of something so positive. Ironman was started for the everyday athlete and has the lottery system to keep the integrity of the original vision. It's the stories of the everyday athlete that inspire and help grow this sport and without them would not be the worldwide phenomenon that it is.

  • @52comeback Excellent response. I don't understand people's need to detract from other's accomplishments. Is it jealousy? Is it they know they are incapable of something so they must take away from that person? Blaxboard, did you ever consider that in a 140.6 mile race, things might go wrong? Forgetting for a second your ignorance of the lottery system, you have the audacity to say that someone who finished an Ironman is not that strong? What have you done? This was very inspiring!

  • @52comeback I'm a 60 year old grandma of 5 and I'm about to do my 3rd. Iron Distance Triathlon. My first was in 2006, at the age of 55, in Madison, WI. To finish is all I wanted but, I finished 3rd. in my age group and that made this day even more special. Iron Man is for all of us who dare to try, who aspire to brake preconceved ideas of age and limitations. This race is not only for the Elite but for the most ordinary people who dare to do something trully extraordinary.

  • @Irongrandma1 Well done! Good luck in your upcoming race. Hopefully one day i will complete an ironman competition.

  • alguien puede traducirlo, por favor..

  • Great video! If i"m correct its a part of a documentary regarding the Ironman (which i have seen some years ago). Could you please inform me with the title of the documentary and where to buy? many thanks!

  • an awesome video for alot of awesome people especially you scott good job

  • I'm going through a bit of a rough patch in life at the minute Scott, things aren't going my way no matter how hard I fight, no matter what I do there never seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Watching this video of you though, you give me hope. You help me keep on fighting, and I tell you now, I will never stop fighting.

You aren't an ironman Scott, you are an ironHERO.

    I salute you sir.

  • @Mtbmaz Thank you for the kind words! Hang in there! Hard times are just life's way of testing your commitment to succeed. "You're only 3 feet from gold"... keep moving!
