Mike doet waar die goed in is ,muziek maken vanuit zijn hart en gevoel daardoor maakt het hem zo uniek persoon .Je hoort dat in zijn muziek en vooral de aandacht die hij eraan besteed.

the "new way" is not haunting like the original, its not as easy to listen to, which i don't think wouldn't stand up to being repeated over and over, its like the end of a section. i guess too much thought has gone in to it. keep it simple!

Wherever the theme came, from, Oldfield made it work and produced a unique work. The man is a genius. His guitar playing alone ranks him as a world class musician.

well I saw him on a program in the UK admitting that he reversed a classical piece (Mozart I think) for the main theme. I think somewhere deep down he probably feels a bit of a cheat. So it's taken 35 years to come up with that. Better? I don't think so!!

It was just the piano melody at the beginning it referred to. The program was Later with Jools Holland. I think it was Bach's Toccata? In all fairness he did create a complete masterpiece and that tune is only a small part of it. In my opinion it's not the best part anyway, it's just the most well known.

je zou bijna zegge dat mike een god is met zn muziek... wat ie op de piano doet, hij gebruikt de makkelijkste dingetjes, maar het klinkt zo heerlijk door de oren.. zolang ie leeft ben ik ze grootste fan :P

Ik hoop er enorm op dat Mike met dit nieuwe album gaat touren en dan hopelijk ook in Nederland, want het lijkt me fantastisch om hem eens live te zien!

Ik heb de promo-versie van Music of the Spheres al een flink aantal keer beluisterd en ik vind het album prima klinken. Hij gaat er een beetje mee terug naar Tubular Bells, maar om dan meteen te zeggen dat het Tubular Bells 4 is, is een beetje overdreven (ik hoor zo wat reacties). Sommige mensen horen alleen de intro en maken meteen een oordeel over het volledige album. Dat is natuurlijk oneerlijk.
