Too bad that Womack's game-tying hit. Would've liked to have seen Gonzo's game-winner. I'm sure it's probably hard to record something when an actual situation like that comes up though. I would wanna see it with my own eyes, and be able to celebrate after.
lol...that's the first time I've seen the stadium sold out...usually there's like 30 people in the top section all together, they really started to suck after they changed the colors to red, pretty weird....cant wait till the home opener this season, even tho it likes there gonna have another rough season
i'm an underdog fan all the way to bone, so i utterly despised this yankees team..they were the epitome of overindulgent when it came to winning..i don't think anyone other than yankees fans wanted to see that damn team win another world series..i was soooo happy they lost i remember crying of joy.
I have been watching World Series since the 70's and believe this WS was the best in that timespan. I'm a Yankee fan and hated that they lost, but every game had incredible moments for both sides all the way to that dramatic game seven finish. I cannot think of a more dramatic series from game one to game 7.
This really was a great series. I was not a fan of either team, but I love baseball, and any time it comes down to the last inning of game 7, it's just priceless. I remember watching this game with my brother and my sister-in-law, who's British. She could not understand why my brother and I were so excited toward the end of the game. THIS is baseball :)
I'll never forget that night.Didn't get to watch the game because i had to work....i still regret that, but i did get out in time to drive down to the ball park and celebrate.Never experienced anything like it.It was a Sunday night & there was a sand storm, but nobody cared lol...euphoria then...nostalgic now
Yankees fanatic here. Married to a Diamondbacks fan. A doctor friend of mine recently won the Luis Gonzales ball from the end of Game 7 at a charity auction (signed by Gonzales; stamped by the MLB) and now it's framed & in my den, surrounded by tons of Yankees memorabilia. Man, I hate that ball. The only reason I don't destroy it is because of my wife. :-)
@COD3andCF niggah plz....ur just one of those followers who see a team win the championship and automatically their your favorite team....and it dont matter who has more trophies these guys play for pride and to have fun....fuck the trophies man...and just like every other fake yankee fan your fav player is probably A-rod......your probably not even from new york, or even been to new york....so dont talk your shit if all u can say is the yankees haave 27 championships, cuz no1 gives a fuck
Hey Dalton, i have lived in AZ now for 11 years, but am originally from Philly, so I am not a true D-Backs fan. Anyways, how much were they selling tickets for the Game 7. And how much do you think scalpers will sell outfield seats for the home run derby and the cheapest for the all-star game in 2011?
@EaglesFreak416 im not sure about the allstar game but for game seven i had friends who were seated in the third row in the second level and they paid 750 a piece i was in the upper deck about 4 rows up and i paid 325 for my ticket the reason they were so expensive was because of all the yankee fans and they had to open like 30 temporary restaurants all over downtown phoenix and plus tickets were selling like crazy after 9-11
@dalton123489 ok, well the second I here tickets are on sale, I will go to the D-Backs ticket office in Tucson and buy them there, instead of having to deal with the internet.
i remember my mom and dad and I were going crazy when Gonzo got a base hit. i can remember justing into my car, and driving around the block honking my horn cheering really loud out my window. i live in AZ so that day was really special for all Arizonians. Go Dbacks!
ya i love how this was like a slap in the face to the whole country cuz everyone was all being pussys about nyy! GO DBACKS! GOD BLESS THOSE 9-11 VICTIAMS AND THER E FAMILIES
Wow. You are so lucky to have been there. I loved this series more than anything in sports, including NYG beating the Patriots. But, I enjoyed watching it at home, wrapped in my blanket, staying up really late on a school night to watch to see if my favorite team (since the playoffs, and because the Brewers were a joke in '01) the Diamondbacks wins it all! I actually eventually got to meet my favorite player, Craig Counsell, when he came over to the Brewers. I don't think I met Damian Miller tho
@frofro73 The way it was, was that 1 year rotation crap. The best way to settle homefield is best record, then head to head, then record against playoff teams.
was this the year the ASG ended in a tie? why did the dbacks have homefield advantage? i thought the nl hadnt won an allstar game since... well a long time ago
they suck huh? whose the only team that clinched the postseason already? which team is 43 games over 500? which team is going to win the division title before anybody else even clinches?
It's a completely different world when you get to the playoffs. It doesn't matter if they have the best record. In fact, rarely does the team with the best record in the MLB when it all.
I did not say they would start losing. My point is that teams have gone in just dominant before and completely crashed in the playoffs. I basically was saying it was a possibility. Anything is possible,
People like you are the reason why I don't follow pro sports anymore. You're attitudes towards others not like you are more childish than those of your athletes.
