I guess it all depends on what your definition of "Values" is.
Prove it by standing up against the wrongs that have been done against our country and its constituion since that man you are so proud of voting for (twice) has been in office. In this administration it has been all self-interest, even while making friends happy and rich support can be gained. It is a sham and a shame to think of the disgusting behavior that has been condoned by no longer holding a tough position. Bad choice for our country, one more person who doesn't represent U.S. citizens
John McCain might be a really decent guy who served our country well in battle. But that does NOT necessarily translate into the ability to lead a vast, complex, 21st Century economy. I want someone who's actually gone to school and has studied the intricacies of political science and constitutional interpretation. I want someone with an appreciation for the changing place of America in 21st Century politics. I couldn't care less if my president had been a POW. I want him to know what he's doing
"I want someone who has gone to school and has studied the intricacies of political science"
School doesn't give us the character needed, the judgement and leadership skills, the love of country to put it 1st, or the willingness to sacrifice for the ordinary citizen. We know McCain has all that, so why go take a chance on the one that continues to throw people under the bus?!
Dear American People, Despite what populists have said about BUSH. **** A majority of THOUGHTFUL people in the World thinking that choices MR BUSH were good. HELLO !!!! Bush was and is not SO bad for the world. A certain press with his aristocracy have done a big Bashing job Againt; USA, Bush. Thoses people don't like USA and are not patriotic. Well when we are in a war against terrorism... One would think military experience is good. Some to the left totally forgot that aspect of leadership.
if there's one thing we can learn from history, its that you cannot crush an idea.
you can kill people in the millions, and burn their land, and martyr their fighters... but the idea remains.
this is not a war that can be won by rockets. this war can only be won with psychology... also, people are more likely to go radical when they're poor...
i'll grant you the point that military experience helps with the planning of campaigns like these, but take note that ideas aren't killed with bullets.
I agree with you on ideas... they can't be killed with bullets. I like that statement yet I have to disagree with you on the Mideast. We cannot destroy an idea... but we can build a country to become a stronghold against terrorism. That is a must. Especially when Iran is next door. The idea has always been there... it took power to allow it to cause 911. We are taking that power down by destroying the sectors that flew planes into our lives. We cannot have inexperience at this time.
by "destroying the sectors that flew planes into our lives"... we are martyring people, and that incites revenge, continuing the circle - not reducing terror.
as an aside, if you think that al-quaeda was in iraq before the US invasion, you are misinformed...
more importantly, please note that you have changed your line of argument - you started by saying that militarism is needed for effective US foreign policy. now you're saying that experience is what is needed. you have to be consistent...
The experience John McCain has in the military puts both of those arguments together. You are blinded by your far left beliefs. You believe in conspiracies that are almost as useless as the democrats winning congress.
military experience is not the same as political experience. not every general makes a good politician.
you think i believe in conspiracies, eh? you're WAY outta line there, champ. quite frankly, you don't know shit about me, so don't try to infer my beliefs. in debate, don't resort to personal attack.
and FYI, the dems control congress RIGHT NOW.
with comments like that, you undermine your entire position, and discredit the entire right wing - with whom you have clearly identified yourself.
hmmm, now that i reread your message, i realize ive misinterpreted something. so you already know that congress is democratically controlled. the point is irrelevant, actually.
still, though - this was a good debate, until you went and blew it by resorting to character attacks. how republican of you.
I am sorry for the personal attack... I have had against me and I resorted by attacking you the same way I have been attacked. I do have to agree that I was in the wrong for that side. I do believe, however, that democrats have placed too much pressure on businesses. The have wanted to socialize so much... many critics would say that democrats are resorting to communism.
hey don't get me wrong; even though i believe in free market capitalism, you gotta have some rules - because the business of business is business. when the bottom line is the most important thing, people get greedy, and corporations are really good at diluting guilt! that, and socialized medicine's not so bad... i was born in canada (but i have an american citizenship) and im sure our system is better here - our worst problem is that our doctors are moving south for the money!
They CHOSE to "defend their country." In many cases they chose to stay with their buddies. It doesnt mean that they agree with our invasion or our occupation or the CLOWN presently in the White House.
but a strong leader that take his responsablities. A Man the WHOLE WORLD NEEDED. It's important for the World STABILITy, power equilibirium. AMERICA IS STILL NUMBER ONE COUNTRY. DONT YOU LIKE AMERICA ??? BUSH IS RESPECTED IN THE WORLD AMONG TOUGHTFULL PERSONS DESPITES MEDIA ATTACK OR POPULISTS VIEW THAT INVADING MEDIA
"...sacrifice with others for a cause greater than our self interest." I totally think that's a great idea. Let's ask all those rich dudes, like the oil company execs, to pay more in taxes for the good of their country. I hope John McCain is reading this.
They never solved the Anthrax case, but the notes sounded like they came from terrorists:
09-11-01
YOU CAN NOT STOP US.
WE HAVE THIS ANTHRAX.
YOU DIE NOW.
ARE YOU AFRAID?
DEATH TO AMERICA.
DEATH TO ISRAEL.
ALLAH IS GREAT.
I consider attacks on Americans in foreign countries and attacks on our allies to be as serious as attacks on America itself. That's why I'm supporting candidates who are willing to rethink our foreign policy, not just salvage the mistake we made invading Iraq.
Having a nice family doesn't make you qualified for family. Some dog's have a nice family pack. That's great John, but it doesn't you qualified. Barack Obama 2008!
There is, it seems, no scenario that would cause Obama to change his mind. David Brooks of the New York Times put it well: "To pledge an automatic withdrawal is just insane. A mature politician would've been honest and said: I fully intend to withdraw, but I want to know what the reality is at that moment."
NRO
The leader of the free world, Barry? only in your distorted mind.
I don't often agree with Brooks, but at least he usually gets his facts straight (which puts him heads and shoulders above most MSM commentators). This time, he's a bit off. Perhaps you two should watch this: /watch?v=zYBaiXQoI5Q.
The federal government of the USA forcibly injected me on numerous occassions after I worked as an FDIC bank examiner and informed on money laundering and the murder labeled suicide of an FDIC regional director. I was knocked unconscious and I often feel ill since the torture. Senator McCain's Arizona allows forced injections on compliant people since 2001. He should be injected and held as I was. If any one tries to inject you, run for your life. McCain's support is from money laundering family
Obama and Hillary keep trying to raise the ante on each other with false promises of who can pull the troops out the fastest without any responsible consideration of what the consequences would be to the U.S. and the world, least of all the millions of Iraqis who would surely perish for ANY cooperation they had with the west.
John McCain is the only candidate who really cares about life outside of the relevance of a vote.
I think responsible Americans know Mccain is the most qualified.
On Iraq, Obama reaffirmed a rock-hard pledge that he will withdraw our combat troops and leave no permanent bases. He is wholly uninterested in what General Petraeus or anyone else has to say on the matter of our mission; our troops are coming home, come what may. And if as a result of a precipitous withdrawal we see mass death and genocide, a revitalized al-Qaeda, a strengthened Iran, and massive instability in the region, the withdrawal would presumably continue.
The democrats always seem to paint such a gloomy picture. I suppose thats their way of maintaining a firm stranglehold on the lunch bucket democrats and the victim mentality conspiracy theorists. The problem is that they do this from their elitist platform as a means to control those they secretly have contempt for. John McCain has spent time in the trenches, and now he is a man who knows who he is. Obama is still testing the political waters from within his elitist bubble
IMO, the GOP has cornered the market on victimhood, fear, and gloom. And it ain't working. Terrorism is a bigger threat today because of you guys.
Elitist? Obama is a self-made man; a rags-to-riches story. McCain's the elitist. He was a child of privilege and now lives lavishly off the toil of his wife's father.
yes, cobwebhead(fitting name for whom you support), Obama is an elitist snob. He doesn't know a bowling ball from a basketball. He doesn't have the guts to stand up to questions pertaining to his character. He's out of touch completely with middle America, the ones who will decide this election. Yes, the gun-toting, bible thumping, knuckle-dragging neanderthals will put McCain into office. I'm one of them. And proud of it.
Obama grew up poor, excelled in school and on the basketball court, earned scholarships to high school and college and earned distinctions at Harvard Law School. It's an only-in-America story. McCain's daddy got him appointed to the US Naval Academy where he graduated at the bottom of his class. He dumped his 1st wife for a rich heiress and moved to AZ just so he could run for Congress. And you support him because you think he might be a better bowler? You're a victim of MSM, my friend.
thank you cawins for defaming a person. What if you had people shoving a microphone in your face everyday. Could you not slip up? Nice to hide behind your computer, while someone like John McCain is out there in front of the cameras. I do believe, I would check yourself before you wreck yourself. Ooops, too late. How's the job at the local burger shop treating you.
bemental - Defaming the messenger isn't really the best way to refute "defamation", as you call it. It might be more persuasive to cite reasons why the anecdote from Cliff Schecter's new book might not be true. According to Schecter and several other witnesses, McCain really did call his heiress 2nd wife a cunt when she remarked on his receding hairline. They were in public at the time, but there were no cameras or microphones "shoved in his face". His temper is somewhat legendary.
In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days. Family? ;-)
Obama and Hillary keep trying to raise the ante on each other with false promises of who can pull the troops out the fastest without any responsible consideration of what the consequences would be to the U.S. and the world, least of all the millions of Iraqis who would surely perish for ANY cooperation they had with the west.

He said he would stay in Iraq IF IT WOULD TAKE 100 YEARS, he promised nothing. Watch news from somewhere other than CNN, they feed so many political lies to the public and people like you, sadly, believe them.
we've been in germany and korea for over 50 years now. staying in iraq for 100 years doesnt mean that there will be fighting, but rather ensuring a regional democratization.
This is the weakest candidate since..well.. since George Bush.. and we all know how that turned out... We all have to make sure the idiot repo's and cons don't continue ruining this country..Vote!! and make your parents VOTE! and your Friends... Dont take his stupidity for granted..
His father signed off on the report that Israel was not to blame for the murder of 34 of our sailors and wounding of 170 others aboard the USS Liberty in 1967. If this is the 'heritage' that you want us to embrace, you're either nuts or you don't bother to read history. It's time we punished the Israelis for what they did to our enlisted men, scrap the bogus report that McCain's father signed and boot the current McCain out of the running. Unless, of course, you all like being lied to.
RAW STORY-In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." The Main Stream Media portrays a false image of McCain because McCain has them in their pocket. Read independent news sources to get a true idea of who McCain really is.
1) polls can be rigged and cant be trusted. never rely on polls to form opinions
2) the pathetic number of views of his videos on youtube are a testament to how 'popular' he is
3) mccain claims to be an 'expert on iraq' but knows nothing about the Iraq War either (google: McCain gaffes). He doesnt even know the difference between Sunnis and Shiites.
4) All of his policies mirror that of President Bush's. In other words - Disastrous.
5) McCain has Big Media lobbyists in his pockets and is against media reform laws that are needed to preserve democracy, as the media has too much influence on elections thanks to Republicans (since Reagan) removing laws that enabled the Media to consolidate into monopolies, as well as fair election reporting laws. McCain is against Net Neutrality as well.
Research these facts, dont rely on my words.
Vote for McCain, and America will crash and burn. It's that simple.
God Bless you John McCain. It's been an honor helping you get the nomination over the past 2 years. And it will be a bigger honor calling you President.
Great war movie. So what is John McCain going to do about the economy, health care, etc.? He's admitted he knows little about the economy.
He's one of the most unqualified people ever to have run for president. 2008 stands as possibly the first landslide since 1980. fortunately for America, McCain will be on the losing end.
this is an ad for socialism. doing something greater for ourselves than our self interest? thats unamerican! everything here is about community-communism or family-socialism. there is no mention about individual responsibility that our forged by our own lives, instead of that forged from our commitment to family and society. not saying your a communist john, but your preaching communist rhetoric!
I will be voting for Mr.McCain, if this gets read by anyone who advises Mr.McCain let me say the following.I would implore that Mr.McCain reconsider US's current actions in the Balkans,Serbia is not the enemy that the Clinton administration painted them out to be.
The Serbians are not communists like Clinton made them out to be.The Serbians are religious and were communist only by proximity, not by choice. The albanians are not an innocent people, they were some of the most vicious nazi-fascists during WW2.The Serbians saved Jewish souls from the nazis, the Serbians saved American Airmen during WW2.
McCain is the obvious choice for president because he has way more experience than any other candidate.
Some people just don't want to see that and have to make up lies about one of the most honest politicians there ever was. Thats why he's still the most popualr.
"support McCain because of WHO he is. Democrats support their candidates because of WHAT they are."
Democrats are just ambitious politicians who will say or do whatever it takes to get where they want. They will try to ride the backs of minorities and lunch bucket democrats all the way to the white house, but it's not going to happen.
Ask not what your country can do for you(welfare)
But what you can do for your country(honorable service!)
If you guys honestly think that american military is so weak that it would take us 100 years to defeat some malitia, you've been living in a cave or something. that's what i keep telling ppl. don't worry about the war. we'll be outta there before you know it. you act like if he's elected, he's gonna stay president for 50 years. he can only be a president for 8 years. so there's no way the war could last any longer than that, silly. seems nobody payed attention in math class
No, it's only going to take us "6 days, weeks, I doubt 6 months"... ;)
Our occupation of Iraq is Bin Laden's dream come true. We're mired in a side-battle while Afghanistan slips back to the Taliban and his safe-haven in Pakistan goes undisturbed. If we stay and kill every Al Qaeda operative in Iraq, will it be worth 4,000 American lives and $1 trillion dollars? Will America be any safer?
its ironic how the war has kept you safe enough so that you're secure enough to make those comments.look up how many attacks have been prevented through efforts made by soldiers, you'd be suprised.
p.s. 20 bucks says alot more would be dead had we not done anything
Afghanistan was what we should have done and I thought we would have learned from the Soviet Union who went bankrupt fighting there. We needed overwhelming force and a long term commitment to rebuilding their infrastructure. We've failed on both counts and are watching the Taliban move back in and heroin trade going through the roof.
No attacks since 9/11? Anthrax, London, Madrid, the Bali night club, the "shoe bomber", the American compound in Riyadh, the British Consulate in Istanbul...
I always respected McCain. He wasn't my first choice at the caucuses, but I support him 100% now. He is the only hope our country has. God Bless the man!
I urge every person reading this post to type in Geert Wilders or Fitna and play the Full English Version. If you ever doubted why we are at war with Islamofascism, this video will keep your eyes and ears WIDE OPEN. WARNING++++graphic, jarring, but so very, very necessary to watch! If you can't find it, go to my channel, I have it saved there. Please note it is extremely graphic, was told by another viewer I wasn't emphasizing that enough. There, you have been warned.
On one side, a man who honorably served his country, matched his rhetoric with action, and authored landmark legislation with bipartisan support (much as I wish he didn't, in many cases).
On the other side, a choice between a man whose claim to fame is that his mother got knocked up by a foreign exchange student, or a woman whose main accomplishment is marrying a man who became president.
I support McCain because of WHO he is. Democrats support their candidates because of WHAT they are.
He has no idea about the economy and voiced it openly. He is also breaking the FEC rules that he championed. This man will destroy america if he get's in. Plus too if he is willing to break the law to get into office what do you think he will do once he's in office. The ends don't justify the mean!
McCain is the only candidate who really truly cares about this country. He has dedicated and even risked his life for it. His honor is valuable, which is why he is so honest to the public, but thats a Naval officer and a graduate of Annapolis for you.
Obama and Hillary have been caught in so many LIES already.
Obama and Hillary are just ambitious politicians trying to ride the backs of minorities and lunch bucket democrats all the way to the white house.
I don't think my post is the most offensive on this page. You might want to read what others are saying. At least I just said Obama 08, I don't see how that makes me disrespectful or a "dick". Besides if the McCain camp doesn't want comments like that on their page, they need to lock it down.
McCain really truly cares about this country. He has dedicated and even risked his life for it. One thing you can always count on with McCain is that he will always tell you the truth. His honor is valuable, but thats a Naval officer and graduate of Annapolis for you.
Obama and Hillary have already been caught in a ton of lies each!
Obama and Hillary are just ambitious politicians trying to ride the backs of minorities and lunch bucket democrats all the way to the white house.
Ok ok, he was a soldier, that's wonderful. How the hell does that qualify him to fix, say, our shitty economy? How does that even qualify him to fix our poor reputation in the global community? All it does is give him insight on what it's like to be tortured, whoopee.
He prides himself on his personal integrity yet admits he wasn't faithful to his first wife, Carol, who was injured in a horrific car accident while McCain was in Vietnam
Whatever you point of view, nothing these candidates say will change the majority of this countries pre determined decision they made... It's sad because I'm friends with Democrats and Republicans , no matter what, they will always vote there party, no matter what, they see the other sides point of view as incomprehensible... my 2 cents :)
Good luck in the general election Mr. McCain. You deserve it well more then these bickering democrats that are able to whine and complain about everything. You sir have seen the worst of war being tortured for years and you still support it. You sir, are an American Hero. You'll have my vote for sure in November.
Most of McCain's ancestors went to West Point and served in the military, but McCain, like his father and grandfather, served in the Navy. McCain's two youngest sons are in the Navy and the Marine Corps, respectively.
"A distant ancestor served on General Washington's staff, and it seems my ancestors fought in most wars in our nation's history,"
No doubt, John McCain comes from a long line of Americans who serve the will of the country above their own.
No doubt, John McCain's whole family loves this country more than any self serving democrat ever could.
We know how Obama feels about America, no flag pin, no pledge to our flag, and too cowardly, stupid, or ambitious to walk out of that racist anti-american hate machine he had the "audacity" to call a church.
Obama is no JFK who said: ask not what this country could do for you, but what you can do for it.
McCain is more like JFK than any democrat ever has been.
I was thinking the same thing. I post stuff on obamas site...just shows "pending approval"... then never is posted! He can't handle the truth. Just a bunch of love fest liberals kissing his behind praising his lies and anti American stance. scary that John's only beating him by 5% in the polls as of today. Should be 20%. John has more patriotism in his left earlobe than obama has in his entire family. Sad that people's dislike for Bush is hurting John.
Self interest? humm.. Divorced and left his wife after cheating on her?? Known to be a womanizer and wanker when he was on duty?? Trying to be like his father and grandfather by being reckless and stupid? That is what you call "American Values???" LOL give me a break! I am voting for someone who respects marriage not someone that found a rich fake blond and abandoned his family.
Police the world and keep borrowing money from china to fund his future wars and military occupations. Fake Hero, Fake candidate, Fake Promises, Fake Wife. Read up on this guy. Where he gets his money, what he did to his wife after he came back from Vietnam. Do you actually think his head is in the right place after 5 years of torture? And the number one reason not to vote for him; Bush endorsed him!
Didn't John cheat on his wife to be with a much younger woman?
His character really showed there.

There is, it seems, no scenario that would cause Obama to change his mind. David Brooks of the New York Times put it well: "To pledge an automatic withdrawal is just insane. A mature politician would've been honest and said: I fully intend to withdraw, but I want to know what the reality is at that moment."

On Iraq, Obama reaffirmed a rock-hard pledge that he will withdraw our combat troops and leave no permanent bases. He is wholly uninterested in what General Petraeus or anyone else has to say on the matter of our mission; our troops are coming home, come what may. And if as a result of a precipitous withdrawal we see mass death and genocide, a revitalized al-Qaeda, a strengthened Iran, and massive instability in the region, the withdrawal would presumably continue.

yes, cobwebhead(fitting name for whom you support), Obama is an elitist snob. And proud of it.
crazyforcrowe 3 years ago
Obama grew up poor, excelled in school and on the basketball court, earned scholarships to high school and college and earned distinctions at Harvard Law School. It's an only-in-America story. McCain's daddy got him appointed to the US Naval Academy where he graduated at the bottom of his class. He dumped his 1st wife for a rich heiress and moved to AZ just so he could run for Congress. And you support him because you think he might be a better bowler? You're a victim of MSM, my friend.

bemental 3 years ago
bemental - Defaming the messenger isn't really the best way to refute "defamation", as you call it.

McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day.
Do you really want 4 more years of Bush?
marlonsmith 3 years ago
5) McCain has Big Media lobbyists in his pockets and is against media reform laws that are needed to preserve democracy, as the media has too much influence on elections thanks to Republicans (since Reagan) removing laws that enabled the Media to consolidate into monopolies, as well as fair election reporting laws. McCain is against Net Neutrality as well.
Research these facts, dont rely on my words.

I used to believe that, until he completely reversed his position on virtually all his signature issues.
Torture was bad...now it's good.
Bush tax cuts were bad...now they're good.
Darfur needed assistance...now it's off the radar
Campaign financing?...he won't even sign bills he co-authored.
Jerry Falwell?...agent of intolerance...oh, not anymore, now he was a good guy and McCain spoke at his college.
McCain hasn't held his integrity on ANY issues since he started this run for office.

DO YOU KNOW THE SONG "BOMB BOMB BOMB Iran"?! The guy is crazy! He can't live in peace!

You can't argue with the fact that John McCain's whole family loves this country way more than any self serving democrat ever has.
When did the democrats lose their way?
From the famous JFK speech "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"
to
Heres our welfare check, now vote for me.
What, you're a dumbass who got a flexible interest rate mortgage? We'll pay for it, now vote for me.
What? no health insurance, no job, no flood insurance

The guy is a true american hero whose life story is truly inspiring.

This is so true. Try to post something that even questions Hillary or Obama and it won't get posted. At least McCain isn't afraid of free speech.
AverageVoter 3 years ago 6

The democrats lost there way a long time ago when they started pandering to minorities and lunch bucket democrats.

These are totally empty sentences. What is love?! What's the measure of it?! How can you compare love of two persons?!
You don't even know McCain personally.
Besides he's running for president, love is not enough.

Are there any videos of John McCain telling some really thighslapping funny jokes?
I know it doesn't fit with the campaign themes.
It's something I'd like to see ... just to prove that he -can- be an awesome joketeller.
Don't save all the good punchlines for the Republican National Convention, Mister Arizona!
