  • The Valentine is well worth the money.

Had mine for a coupla years and love it.

  • radars suck. had a valentine v1 and return it. cops outsmart radars. they have 2 ways. 1 is to use a laser 2. cops turn their radars once they see a speeder. IN both cases you get cought. the radar would beep and it would be to late. the guy in the video probably got paid to talk about the radar.

  • @MrRussianProud

    1. use a laser jammer or a V1 + Veil

    2. use a rabbit or don't speed

  • @Yongbukx

It's called squinting to bright sunlight.

  • I just bought a Valentine radar detector. How do I switch from Highway too city?

  • @ulchevy no sucxh thing on the v1

  • Best darn tootin radar detector out there, period.

You will get falsing a little more than others, but once you know where you typically get your falsing at, you will know next time you pass, when your getting something different. It works, its so good thieves like them too, so make sure you take it off the windshield when you get where your going.

  • Dull boring warehouse background.

  • The V1 does have one major flaw: it's detectable by the Spectre RDD. So if you use it where detectors are illegal, you're f***ed.

  • What is it exactly that makes the V1 so legend?

  • @veilguy...receiving it today. And for the record, I attended Stetson University...funny. I just love the absolute and unfiltered nature of YouTube. And sometimes you can find useful info as well! Take care.

  • @veilguy...glad you can take a joke. I actually decided to purchase a V1 (receiving it today

  • Hillbilly bluegrass in the background with a guy from Jersey talking. Classic.

  • @TheWoodlink

    Don't forget...and with a black Stetson. :)

  • Chose the V1 over the ix after testing both. V1 has way better instant one detection and range :) Plus it can pick up QT, only detector out there that can from what I have researched. Great vid! Love the review!

  • @durand001 agreed. I had a failure to detect quick trigger by the 9500i maybe i should have turned my ka band off so it would have detected it. Check the vid where the cop uses stalker and clocks people with detectors in the car its decent. Latest vid sold me. It was 100% detection on stalker I/0. Even in less than a week after several years of the 9500i its going to the curb. I agree with veilguy the no hold on the laser signal is key. Something I dont miss with escort at all

  • crappy music, and i hate how they review all there stuff from their cars.....

  • This guy can really talk a blue streak.

  • hey, I live in Chicago and was wondering if the V1 or BEL RX65 would be better for my area? I dont know a lot of radar detectors so the more help the better. Thanks!

  • does the V1 protect from radar and laser?

  • @tkonz93 yes it alert you when a laser is pointed at you but no one really saving you

because when the cop is pointing on you the radar letting you know you getting a ticket.

  • Why do you mount your detectors so low? Is that better? The V1 manual says to mount it as high as possible. Thanks for the great videos!

  • Is the valentine one or the 9500ix better?

  • @awesomepenguin95

They really are two different kinds of radar detectors, each have strong merit. Depending on how and where you drive and what you encounter should point you to one over the other.

  • If u put thr V1 in L mode it reduces false alert and the V1 will hit laser alert if u drive behin a chevy TrailBlaser when he hits the brakes the V1 will give off laser Alert

  • I emailed Valentine One years ago to use a glass 'fish eye' lens for off axis and that is one big reason it works so well with l.i.d.a.r detection.

  • Part 3 Now to my Valentine 1 defense, perhaps it's me I did not program it properly? Even so, you would think that that the V1 would of warned me in these situations. How much closer could I have been? For the record I do not speed over 70mph. speed limit here is 65mph. nor do I condone it. I just happen to love gadgets, surveillance, scanners, and ham radios.

  • see my other reply to your comment below...

  • Part 2 I spent a VERY pretty penny on this radar as you all know, so I am wondering if my money was well spent? I am still within the 30 days so I can return it.

  • see my other reply to your comment below...

  • Part 1 I have mixed feelings about my new V1 In a week Iv had 3 incidents. #1 CHP pointed a radar gun toward my direction. #2 A patrol car passed me by and then got in front of my truck V1 did NOT respond. #3 CHP pulled a guy over and I passed him by. V1did NOT pick it up nor did it warn me a CHP was in the area.

  • Don't give up your V1 just yet...It is very possible (likely) that the radar gun wasn't operating at those times. Most officers use RF-Hold feature (aka Instant-On). Often times when a vehicle is pulled over the radar will be OFF. Other times, officers can use radar to help slow down approaching drivers during their traffic stop. If radar was operating, you can bet the V1 would have been screaming at you.

  • Just ordered one! Thank you for the video, your saving good hard working Joe Lunch Buckets serious $ from the Pirates that prey on them.

  • I bought a STI Driver and used it for about a year and it worked great. A message displayed " service required" on the screen so I sent it in for service under warranty. I bought a V1 to tide me over until I got the STI back. Oh my God, the V1 is simply the "bomb"! Those arrows save me so much time and stress not wasted with false alerts, the same false alerts I'd get with the STI but with no sense of direction because of the lack of arrows on the STI.

  • Bought my V1 brand new from the Valentine website back in 1999. Still going strong.

  • Nice to hear. Of the four that I currently own, one of them goes back to circa 1991 and still works like a charm!

  • Ive been looking for one, I dont want to get another ticket... would you recommend this one?

  • this one what? the v1? of course, it is an awesome piece of engineering.

  • So does this mean your a V1 zombie Veil Guy??

  • I wouldn't go quite that far, however, I do appreciate the V1's fine engineering. :)

  • how the the v1.7's doing these days?

  • legal or illegal in california?

  • 100% legal. Only in VA are radar detectors illegal.

  • VA and DC

  • they are illegal in Virginia and washington DC

  • lol so what? I would still get a STI Driver. With police it's not about saftely they just want to steal your money.

  • yeah they dont even obey the law

    they change lanes w/o signaling

speed, run red lights with their sirens or w/e

    theyr all full of shit

  • legal, unless you drive a commercial rig

  • i drive an unmarked taxi mini van i use 2 radar detectors

one of them is the V1

but you cant see the V1 it is all the way on top of my viser were the factory tint is you cant see it from the out side check my video-----Marianmichael---- my channel

  • LEGAL .. but they have a law that makes it lLLEGAL to affix objects to the windshield..

  • if it obstructs too much view

  • I picked up a 1.8 v1 on ebay for 180 bucks absolutely love it

  • 180

thats bull v1.8 will cost the cheapest 300 bucks used

  • You got a damn good deal. Most V1s are going for 300 on ebay. What version?.

  • I checked the serial (3973990957) on valentine's site it says its a v1.8. It was sort of a risky bid because the seller didn't have any prior feedback and I honestly didn't think I would win but I did.

  • thenwatch something else

  • the V1 is the top of the line radar for distance mike from florida

  • that was pretty bloody boring. hoping to see it at work!

  • He doesn't have it hard wired becaused he owns multiple detectors and prefers the V1 for longer trips. He's constantly swapping between V1 and Bel and Escort, so why would he hardwire any of them? And you'd still have X band enable too if you spent any time in Jersey or Ohio.

  • I love how this "hardcore" guy dosint even have his V1 hardwired.....lol I bet he he still has X band enabled as well...

  • Here in New Jersey 90% of State Police use X band.

  • it does but it moves it around alot this guy has 2 remote radar detectors and some times 2 windscreen mount radar detectors

  • good video and info. but I wish the music was not playing. it makes it hard to hear the man talk

  • you are absolutely right about the laser detection on the V1; it's phenomenal.

  • I think Virgina and Washinton DC are the only states that say these are illegal and Virginia says these are prohibited from being in the car

  • im sorry i meant to say ARE those legal

  • Depends on what state you're in. Google it - should come up very easily.

  • I own one personally, and whenever I have a run-in with the cops I just turn mine off. I have it hard-wired above my rear-view mirror.

  • they are illegal in washinton dc and virinia

  • or those legal or will you get in trouble if you get caught with one?

  • depens were u live in what state
