Contact was made IN THE CREASE. You cannot make ANY contact with the goaltender which prohibits him from making a save. Check the rulebook, holmes.

Incidental contact can be made outside the crease if the goalie attempts to play the puck, which khabibulin did with the attempted poke check. His momentum was shifting the way of shannons. As well,(NOTE 1) In exercising his judgment under subsections (a) and (b) above, the Referee should give more significant consideration to the degree and nature of the contact with the goalkeeper than to the exact location of the goalkeeper at the time of the contact.

A case could be made that Khabby put himself out of position when he poked, but that's not when contact was made. He was on his way back into position, in the blue paint, when contact was made which forced him to slide the opposite way.

I am quite aware of the rules. I've been a goalie since age 4.
