The movie theater I was working for at the time got this in. I put in alot of tokens for this one.
I can't be certain, but I think the City in which I worked passed some ordinance about gun-simulating videogames, and that launching-projectile portion in the top where you aim to hit one of several targets was disabled. Really destroyed the experience.
@ChrisMolyneaux93 I like almost anything. You know? So....I didn't "hate" any of them. But, Batman: Dark Knight, Iron Man and Tron (to a point) really grew on me after a bunch of plays. :)
@spida1a If I were to get one of those machines "NIB", it'd probably be Iron Man or TRON.
I mean sure they look sorta cheap with its photoshopped cabinet art, playfield design, and plastic ramps, but its the fast and nonstop gameplay action and those ball whipping magnets that really make those games shine. Also, the music and sound effects are great. I love the Daft Punk soundtrack in the movie TRON: Legacy and its awesome that it was included in the pinball.
@ChrisMolyneaux93 Yeah, totally. Some people complain too much and should just be happy that Stern has kept pinball alive for over a decade (when Bally / Williams closed, I considered them gone in about four or five...until they brought in the Williams folks to restructure everything). I'm a big Stern fan.......looking forward to my Transformers: LE (oops, leak!)
This is a good game! Better than terminator 2 rulesetwise. T2- waay to many points given out by shooting the ball with the gun! And i love the metal ramps!!
@Gospodinstrannyj I LOVE T2 from a nostalgic sense. But....I don't know...T3 has really grown on me over the years and I honestly can't see selling it. You know? Yay for being in the minority you and I! :) :)
The lighting effects really make this game a lot of fun. I remember this one time I tried to play one, and a lot of the lights didn't work (blown fuse?) but the real kicker was when the RPG lights didn't work so you couldn't even tell what target to hit! Thankfully it wasn't like that for long but man it was disappointing to see my favorite game in that kind of state
@Lorrer09 Of those three? I prefer Family Guy or LOTR. But...it all depends on how much you want to spend. Monopoly is the easiest on the pocket book of the three. :)
Hey i have a question do you still have that black knight 2000 t-shirt or did you give it away with the machine when you sold it i will totally buy it off of you. By the way down periscope is a great movie i saw a picture of the movie poster on your website lol.
@welseypipes2989 The T-shirt belonged to a friend of mine who 'gave it to me as long as I owned the game.' So....when I sold the machine, I gave the shirt back. Was only fair. Ha ha.
LOVE me some Down Periscope. I used to work in a video rental store so...I stole a bunch of those standees I liked. Ha ha. Thanks
I loved terminator 3 because my favorite arcade had it so I knew the machine forwards and backwards. I could get multi-ball most every time I played it-but then we moved :(
Nice review Chris. I don't remember much about T3 but at the time I thought it was so-so. But since I wasn't a big fan of Salvation either so i can't rank them.
You should make a pinball unboxing and show how to set it up. I know that would get alot of views. Also, do you know a good and cheap pinball machine for beginners like me.
I bought T3 when it was first released and still own it. I've never understood why it gets no love. While I will admit it doesn't have a particularly deep rule set, I do think that the theme is well executed. I really like the overall look of the game along with the steel ramps and the RPG back box toy. Still gets played quite a bit in my 33 pin collection.
@DragonZord90 LOL! Totally disagree about the T3 film obviously. But, I loved T2 pinball machine growing up. You know? I can't even tell you how much money I spent on that one. Ha ha.
@spida1a Terminator 3 was okay IMO, it's the weakest of the quadrilogy.
I really liked Terminator Salvation though, really surprised how good that was. The video game was shit though, which is odd as it was made by the company who did Bionic Commando and that was pretty good.
@ScrewAttackEurope I thought Terminator: Salvation was the weakest of the four. The film was not interesting. The story was not interesting. And T3 did "action" ten times better than Salvation ever did. Just my opinion, of course. Very weak film and very disappointing. I saw it twice....just to make sure.
I gave myself a promise that someday I am going to own at least ONE pinball machine in my lifetime (which is not possible at this particular moment because there is no room for any in my apartment), and I saw that a pinball retailer was selling a TMNT Pinball machine for 8000 Swedish kronor (1062$), which I want sooo bad, even though I have no idea if it is any good or not x)
i completly forgot about terminator 3! Was not a huge fan of the movie or the pinball but it is still a great game to play. I was wondering if you knew anything about the pinball games that had video screens integrated to the playing field. I know of two Star wars episode 1 and invasion from mars. Thanks for posting these fantastic vids.
@texaswerewolf Hey, you're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Yes, the Pinball2000 games Revenge From Mars (awesome!) and Star Wars: Episode 1 (blech!). Great stuff. Williams' last ditch effort to save their company....they succeeded.....but management didn't care. Ha ha. :)
That's what I noticed about The Simpsons pinball when you said it had "very deep" gameplay. That's a neat coincidence that you mention The Simpsons Party in your vid right after I find one and play it for the first time. The Simpsons was almost intimidating to walk up to because of all the layers of gameplay it offers.
Thanks for your vids, my friend. :) It would be cool if you could include this series of videos into your next TurboViews DVD. Heh, I am just a dreamin' fool. ;)
I'm not sure how you actually complete the Final Battle, as I got it lit, but then promptly drained. But I hear that after you do complete it, you go into "Blitz" mode.
I love the back box on this one. Back box toys are always fun in my book, and the way its lights strobe back and forth makes for a really great and classic pinball machine feel. It's too bad these are not standard effects anymore due to cost-cutting, but it's understandable why Stern would cut costs due to pinball not being as popular as it has been. I wish there were more arcades where I live.
this looks like a awesome pinball machine i love to play pinball probably the earleist pinball machine would have been bally willwams fireball over my friend robins house her grandfather got it during the 60's when he own a tv store
