Unfortunately this is a somewhat common tactic. It's what unseated Green party presidential candidate and former Georgia congresswoman in her 2002 bid for re-election. It's dirty but so is most of what's done to get a seat and unfortunately there's not much of a solution for it. Only thing you can really do is call attention to it, as Dennis is doing.

jwlvs- Might you be thinking of the ELECTION? I think we have to be registered (not REGISTERED FOR A party) a certain amount of time before an ELECTION. I think that's not the case with a PRIMARY. I am not sure of what i am saying. I suggest you ask your Board of Elections. Here, quite a number of registered Democrats registered Republicans to vote for Ron Paul . The draw? To get rid of the IRS.
