HEY@'mellowed punker' im at a clinic as well the docs i have a spinal disease, loverly pain. And the English language its not the only thing i've murderdered and i'm a vegggie, but we'll keep that between us!! Yeah there's some good trax on those 2 i've got them. But Suffer is when they came into they're own! And blew me away no one i new at that time had heard anything like it lyrics & music. went to see them in london 88/89! Also Green DAY in pub with bout 30 people there! THINKING ONLY OF U x
@DANNYBOMBHEAD Really sorry.Trying to be funny, not to offend you.English is not my native language,so I am often doing mistakes, which I find funny.Suffer is a milestone(personally from the "trilogy"-suffer/no control/against the grain I prefer No Control cos it was my first BRalbum)But I think, that "Along the Way" from "Back To The Known"though roughly recorded is as good as"Walk Away".It reminds of the mid-90's BR-In 88 I was 5- I love green day 91-97 & some tracks from Warning
and Brian Baker was in Minor Threat too bass then guitar on the later better stuff asd also a band most of used havent heard of if yr talk medolic punk is the DAG NASTY almost as good as BR which BB joined after the the first 2 lps I love BAD RELIGION EVERY LP excpt the stuff b4 SUFFER too generic! i agree on Atlantic except THE GREY RACE my fave lp if i had to name 1. Now its 12.20 morn/lunch time what should i have another cuppa tea or can of cider? cant decide cos i'm a drug abusing alcolic!
@DANNYBOMBHEAD I agree, except "how hell could be.." and "back to the known" have some great tracks. By the way, great job murdering the English Language dude. As for your drug problem, don't "your friends telling you you need to find a Clinic?"
@DylanHouseShow you mean Dad Religion or DADFX? either way, i guess you 're young, so time will teach you and one day when you're older you'' know they are 2 of the most influential california punk bands.
@mellowedpunker I meant Bad Religion. I guess I misinterpreted the Lyrics, I thought they were talking more satiricaly, but there actualy saying how good of friends they are with Bad Religion. My dad does have a good taste in music though.
@srhdgaf586 all 4 bands had an impact. They are such different bands. Although we may part them in 2 categories. So i can rephrase myself "NOFX and BAD RELIGION had a big impact in melodic hardcore and 90's skate punk" better now?
@srhdgaf586 Black flag had a huge influence on hardcore. Suicidal Tendencies is more of a crossover thrash punk band. NOFX and bad religion are melodic hardcore they all had a huge influence on punk just diffirent sub generes of punk ya know.
@forrestjake1 I dont care for a lot of nofx songs, but bad religion is cool in my book. if I choose melodic hardcore bands it would be : Pennywise, Bad Religion, and Gorilla Biscuits. Suicidal and Black flag are probably still my favorite bands ever.
@srhdgaf586 All great bands! but i wouldnt call Black Flag, Suicidal or Gorrila Biscuits MELODIC hardcore none of those bands are very melodic there just hardcore bands. Very influental hardcore bands. Personaly in melodic hardcore i think the descendents are my favorite but thats my oppinion NOFX, Bad Religion and Pennywise are realy great too though.
HOLY CRAP. I'm a huge fan of Bad Religion and NOFX and I JUST got the reason why NOFX's "Surfer" album looks the way it does. It looks like the album "Suffer" DDDUUUUHHHHHHH!!!! Damn I'm oblivious.
How the hell can you be a huge fan of bad religion but not so much to nofx they both f'n rule and are the some of the best punk rock bands ever always have been always will they were what truly inspired me to the melodic passion of the music omg 18 years ago I'm old 32 agh but yea they both kick ass
@SamildanachEmrys From the BRpage. It's watch out but pronounced Watch-O.It's heard in:Pessimistic Lines,Henchman,No Direction,Struck A Nerve,Better Off,Dead,Mediocrity,Victory,Drunk Sincerity,Tested,Kyoto Now & others.Jay said:"During the recording of Suffer, we were in a strange phase of ending words with 'ow' ie; 'hey Brett, whats up?' would be 'heow Breow, what's ow?' Watch out was truly meant to be watch out, but because of this phase of ours became watch ow (watch-o), among other things."
@mellowedpunker I always thought it was "One two!", like a countdown kinda thing, with whatever comes next being the "three", so to speak. Very interesting.

the reason i like NOFX more than bad religion is because fat mike, melvin, and hefe really know how to entertain a crowd in between songs as well as make good songs. they may not be as good musicians but they know how to entertain
I just saw nofx the other day and they were making fun of the emo thing by dissing guys having bangs. When did having bangs become not punk rock? didn't the ramones have bangs? The buzzcocks? The jam? Dead Boys? I'm pretty sure to look emo you're supposed to look like jawbreaker or Fugazi. So-basically you just look like a bunch of normal looking guys.So-like nofx. Tight jeans and weird hair are punk traits that the mainstream tried to associate with emo! Take back the power!
@tomdoomtube Bad Religion at their peak released 'Suffer', NOFX released an album called 'Surfer' and had a joke album of the suffer cover. And a thesaurus is a book that tell you words that are similar.
@BlazedBastar666 a thesaurus is a book of words that have similar meanings... often used by writers to avoid repetition of a word or words. im a huge fan of bad religion and nofx, but i dnt get the thesaurus reference
@1MOB16eg It's a funny and self-ironic way to say that "Suffer" has very complex (and well written, imho) lyrics, so hard that Fat Mike had to buy a thesaurus to try to understand the lyrics. That's epic!
@1MOB16eg yeah me either! not a big fan of NOFX though they have a hand full of really good songs ( stickn in my eye, linolieum, all of me, dinosaurs will die, and seeing double at the triple rock) though I would want to party with NOFX rather than BR
