Nuclear power is THE BEST source of energy right now. Todays nuclear power plants have completely different cooling method and they can't explode like chernobyl did. And in chernobyl all security systems were turned of when employees did their own "testings".

A great melancholy was felt for those people who had to live it whether they like it or not, where are they going to go to? There is no where when you understand there situation. I don't think a lot of the people wanted to have a nuclear power station near them on good food providing land.

Perhaps if we humans are shown enough of the stupid things we do, we'll choose to stop doing stupid things.

Viewers must bear in mind that this is a montage of sad-looking people with no facts and only anecdotal claims. What was the actual reading on the Geiger counter?

Please investigate the true science behind this event and leave emotion out of it. Just one quick fact to get you started: 7000 people in the USA die EVERY MONTH because of the output of coal-fired electric plants--that's roughly equivalent to a dozen Cernobyls a year.

It is funny that russian news are actually saying that Chernobyl has almost fully recovered from the catastrophe. Moreover, they took samples of the river and soil in several villages by Chernobyl and announced that no radioactive isotopes were present there. They also did not say anything about high levels of Caesium 137... I ll try to send the link to VESTI and see what they will say.

Until it happens to people, they can't really relate. But once it happens, regardless of how few may actually die before their time or give birth to defective children, each and every person in the effected area is highly impacted psychologically, knowing they could very well be next, knowing they have to be picky with food they ingest, knowing sometimes they have no choice. In Japan, 10s of millions will live like that in the coming months, years and centuries. I am already one of them!

How can there still be nuclear power plans? How can people say they are save? My family invited many children to our home for the chernobyl help. It was always hard to know that they had to go back there. It was /is the same as in the video. The food is contaminated, but they have no choice but to eat it.

Nuclear power plants are deadly weapons. We learned that 25 years ago. And today it's happening again. When will the people understand that?
