Hunched over and flailig your arms alot. Don't know if that's the "japaneese style"('cause I see it alot from there) but it looks kind of uncontrolled and sketchy.
Whats the best board to do ground tricks with? Im not a pro, but i can do butters and spins on my regular board; i just want to get better at them and just have a good time with it.
@classclown14 just get somthing reverse camber for easy nose press's and butters . If that is what your into. Right now im partial to RIDE , specifically the RIDE DH2. Just my opinion but the past few years ive been shying away from burton. Even though a trusted brand im not sure they know whats up lately.
Still awesome, though the combos are not that super-stylish in the view of today.
But never forget this vid were shot in 2003, before commenting like "I can do that shit too" - what shit could you do back in 2003? Technology evolves with time so does the style, be humble! This vid inspired those who are so much passionated in ground tricks nowadays, and that's damn more important isn't it?
@posty360 i have 1 up but its from 2 seasons ago and it only has me doing the trick twice. i'll set up a video like this sometime this season as soon as i can the video is cbk middle of the season, im the second person and remember this was a long time ago so we werent that good im the 2nd person
@posty360 hey relax bro ^^ he was just mentionning he was able :p and he still said nice vid so its more a positive comment dont you think so :) and btw I liked the vi its really cool dont stop :D
@PoppinJony i swear i can do most of this stuff pretty easily and i do them switch i said i would post up another video when the season starts but that not for a little under 3 month and watch that video of the switch flat 720s and now i can do 9s land in butter to 360 then to 540 then back to switch 7 i can do all that without losing a butter just wait till the season starts then i'll show you
wow .. thinking of a new stance by watching these guys .. the got +24 / -9 degrees ... i got 15 / 15 and can't imagin doin these tricks with duckstance
@Pumperrocket : Really? I do all these tricks with a stance of 15/-9. You don't want to set your bindings at anything more then a combined total of 30 degrees!(15+9=24, so I'm still doing fine. And I'm comfortable with my set-up)
@Pumperrocket: I originally had a 40/-20 (Waaay too much angle) on my first board. But since I knew nothing back then, I tried to ride like that. After about a month I got a new board set-up with 20/-10 and rode that for one season. It was fairly comfortable and worked okay. But the other riders still told be to change my stance. So the next season I set up 15/-9, and widened my stance by an extra 7 centimeters. It gave me MUCH better control. You can see in my video (shaun white uses 12/-3 :)
@Pumperrocket :Binding set-up is all about riding style and personal preference. I'd recommend you try a bunch of different stances. If you ride switch a lot you might want to try 15/-15. If you carve a lot you could try 18/-6. If you ride park a lot you could try 12/-6 or 15/-9 and widen your stance an extra 5 cm. Just see what works for you.
@MultiShifties n1 thx i tried 15 15 but it was a bit too much for my knees ... think i will ride with 12 12 in the future just like chris bradshaw does :) but thx for the tips
@MultiShifties have you ever heard of a LTD ENIGMA platinum? i bought one this year, and i like it, but im maving difficulties buttering, i wasnt wery good to start ,but i want to get better, is this board to stiff ? when you say 15/-15 is that from left to right?and you said to widen your stance might help?, i would pay to learn how to butter good, it so cool

@ltdshredmaster: No, I've never heard of that model before. But if you're going to get into buttering you're going to want a board that about 3-7 cm shorter than what you'd normally be riding. Shorter boards mean better response and control, but you get a little less speed. Also, you'll want to get a jib-style board. Boards designed for rails and boxes tend to be easier to flex. Double camber boards and reverse camber boards are better for buttering. (as opposed to a regular camber board.)
@ltdshredmaster: 15/-15 is the number of degrees on your bindings. When you attach your bindings to your board, you never put them on perfectly straight. You slant them so that your toes are a bit wider apart then your heels are. This makes your board a bit easier to control, and it also makes riding more comfortable. And the width of your stance is how far your feet are from each other. Most boards come with a recommended width. It's good to have 1-3 inches more width than normal if you butter.
most flexible board ive seen is the forum substance u step on the end of it on flat ground and usually regular boards are spose to lift up but this one it the tip just goes down board doesnt move at all can pop fat butters
--;;;; Aiuchi Yasuo is ranked 1st in the world for flat ground tricks... don't ever try to do tricks like him... it'll get you killed.. the guy will turn hes shoulders and make the board spin 1080 like nothing...
@purkme ofcourse, and hes a BEAST, charges hard and goes huge, but thats not what I was talking about (when I wrote that 8 months ago ha) Im talking about ground trix. im saying montoya is nice but Ive never seen him put together some silky smooth ground trick combinations like these japanese katz throw down.
if you want to see an updated version of this guy watch /watch?v=kHcn5PvrTAs
