It was design to block east and south europeans, jews, japanese, russians, chinese. That is how it was. Look up the immigration act of 1927, 1917. But I agree, that illegals should not get special treatments. Legal immigrants should get priority over illegals, at all times.

I'm not really for or against illegal immigration, but it seems absurd that someone breaks the law and then asks for sympathy. I taught ESL abroad for years, yet I had the necessary work visa to do my job. Had I been caught without one, I would have willingly paid my fine and been deported. I don't know why folks try to complicate this issue. If you're caught breaking the law, take your punishment.

For example, when naive parents decide to bring children to USA, it's not the kids' fault. Technically they are breaking the law and by your standard should be deported.There's good reason for child immigrants to "ask for sympathy." The Dream ACT is a solution for kids who are caught in this dilemma.

What doesn't help anyone is parents using their children as translators because they never learned English before sneaking their way in here. Kids end up having trouble in school because, though they might speak English, their parents don't, so they're completely on their own when it comes time to do homework or projects. It's unfair to the kids and unfair to the schools.

It's so hard to tell what we should do when it comes to immigration. It makes it even harder when news organizations purposefully distort the facts. I think America needs to take a middle ground approach. Not letting just anyone into our country and causing the issues that come with mass illegal immigration, but also not treating immigrants like they are somehow detroying america. young immigrants work towards a green card. There's a big difference between saying "Let's let everyone come into America" and saying that young people who have been here a large part of their lives are allowed, if they work for an education and stay out of gangs and other trouble, to get a green card. I think, if anything, the DREAM act will help stop a lot of the issues that come with illegal immigration by giving kids a future and helping to keep them off social program. Fuck FOX news.

@davidlone86 this isn't always the case, in fact far from it sometimes. People will generally act like people, and tend to group together with others that have a similar background or commonality. Think of it in terms of a high school cafeteria, and how people congregate. Its a herding instinct and something that doesn't just go away. So while there are those that will be completely immersed in American culture, there are still those that get it to varying degrees.

It was design to block east and south europeans, jews, japanese, russians, chinese. That is how it was. Look up the immigration act of 1927, 1917. But I agree, that illegals should not get special treatments. Legal immigrants should get priority over illegals, at all times.

I'm not really for or against illegal immigration, but it seems absurd that someone breaks the law and then asks for sympathy. I taught ESL abroad for years, yet I had the necessary work visa to do my job. Had I been caught without one, I would have willingly paid my fine and been deported. I don't know why folks try to complicate this issue. If you're caught breaking the law, take your punishment.

For example, when naive parents decide to bring children to USA, it's not the kids' fault. Technically they are breaking the law and by your standard should be deported.There's good reason for child immigrants to "ask for sympathy." The Dream ACT is a solution for kids who are caught in this dilemma.

Kids end up having trouble in school because, though they might speak English, their parents don't, so they're completely on their own when it comes time to do homework or projects. Think of it in terms of a high school cafeteria, and how people congregate. Its a herding instinct and something that doesn't just go away. So while there are those that will be completely immersed in American culture, there are still those that get it to varying degrees.

I want all those supporting, aiding, abetting, and profiting from illegal immigration, to tell the illegals to pack up and go home now, while there is peace. But, I am more than willing for the United States to engage in war if need.

@borderraven Your lifestyle in terms of safety has not changed compared to people living in Mexico. Try living in a country where 20,000 people are murdered a year over a drug war while innocent civilians are caught in the middle? are you going to wait years for a bureaucracy to allow you passage while the safety of your family is in danger? Instead of being sympathetic you call for war on those fleeing from war, what is wrong with you?

@yobster2, I've lived well, I've suffered too. I've been unemployed since February 2008. I've worked, saved, survived. I'm not wealthy, nor poor, but I'm happy to be somewhere in between. God did not design the world for all to succeed and live in luxury, and he has allowed pain and suffering. Man spends money and energy protecting against forest fires, but nature provides fire as a mechanism of cleansing weeds and releasing seeds to regrow the forest.
