Yes there is, but I recommend not shooting in black and white, shoot in color and you can choose which images you want to make black and white in the editing process. Once b&w, you cannot make them color.
tx...i will go with canon then , and i hope, no i know that will be a good decision, allthoug , i have friends wich they say , that, the nikon it's quite better, but for what i need , and how that i feel them in my hands ( canon and nikon ) i prefer to buy the canon .. tx xD
Its not a bad camera..but I recently sold it and bought a Canon 50D. (Fantastic)
Olympus is not bad for starting out but if you're buying your first camera, I recommend buying into a bigger range of lenses and cameras, such as canon or nikon. Trust me, its worth it. Olympus doesnt actually have a real pro dslr, their range of gear is quite small. And between canon and nikon, I've used both and much prefer canon, in all areas. But that's just me. :)
so between olympus E510 and Canon eos 1000d, with what it's better too start ? because , at the price factor , the canon it's around 80 € more that olympus...but i understand that olympus uses the four thirds system , and canon doesnt ..so what's your opinion ?
The e-510 and 1000D are both better than each other in different areas, but the 4/3 sensor of the olympus will produce more noise/grain at high ISO levels. And as I said, if you buy canon you are buying into a much bigger range of bodies and lenses. Olympus only has 2x cropped sensors (4/3), while canon has a range of 1.6x, 1.3 and full frame cameras.
Cut a long story short, go with the 1000D. You won't regret it, especially if you see more lenses or an upgrade to the camera in future.
No problem :)
