  • Akiva has been a composer for many years. If you go to Mostly Music you can find a list of his songs recorded by various artists. Amazingly, he has the rare zechus of seeing one of his pieces become a classic in his own lifetime. His song 'Chamol' is used by almost every Baal Tefilla in Israel today in the Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur davening. Akiva is also a talented guitarist who can accompany himself very ably. Yaakov David is his first cousin. Their fathers are brothers.

  • No, the song on the Shloimie Dachs album is from Akiva Chaim Homnick, who lives in Jerusalem. He is a Torah scholar and heads a kollel there.

  • I thought one of Homnick's compositions was on a Shlomie Dachs CD as well.
