Amazingly, he has the rare zechus of seeing one of his pieces become a classic in his own lifetime. His song 'Chamol' is used by almost every Baal Tefilla in Israel today in the Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur davening. Akiva is also a talented guitarist who can accompany himself very ably. Yaakov David is his first cousin. Their fathers are brothers.
