  • cut holes (or poke holes with a fork) on your top crusts to keep them from exploding or oozing. it lets the steam out from the fillings. :) looks good!

  • @doodlesandcupcakes Great idea! It's a fun little machine!!

  • @vianneylu1 also! if you have small cookie cutters (teeny for this!) you can cut out stars or whatever, then use the cut outs for the decoration - vents the pie and decorates at the same time!

i just got a different version of this little pie maker, and was checking your vid for tips, thanks for posting it, its great! tiny pies are awesome. have you seen the one that makes pies on a stick?! its my next purchase for sure. :)

  • @doodlesandcupcakes How funny, I actually bought that one (pretty much all of the baby cakes machines), but returned it because I figured I probably wouldn't use it very often!! It's super cute, though!

  • @vianneylu1 hmmm. but its pies on sticks!! i run with a strange group of people though. we would be quite amused by that one. i think i am on a mission to collect all of these machines myself...

  • is that a quasidea maker in the bakround

  • @ThePuglover7 LOL! It is!!

  • :O I think i need to get me one...would be good to make pot pies in.

  • @CraftyGamer Those would be soooo cute, and tasty! I make 9" pot pies, and what's good is that you pretty much cook the meat before you bake it anyway, so no danger there!!

  • SOOOOO COOL!

  • @judetunes1 I love it, it's such a fun little treat maker!

  • @vianneylu1 Its so cute and looks like a lot of fun to use, if you have dinner guest over you can have fresh mini warm pies.

  • I also have this same pie maker, and it's pretty good. I made my first batch of mini pies a few days ago, and the only problem I had was not -enough- filling! I used 1/4 cup per pie, and it wasn't enough so the tops did not brown very well. I will add more filling next time, see how that works. I also used used homemade pie crust (from the included booklet), and doubled the recipe. :)

  • @Frenchieboo Sounds yummy! I have only used it with store bought items, sooo good!

  • Nice gadget. I got the Smart Planet gadgets for xmas which I still haven't fired up yet.

    Have you tried:

    1. egg washing the edges between the top and bottom layers to seal the pie and

    2. cutting a couple slits on the tops to vent so the filling doesn't spill out the sides?

  • @ayoshida13 I haven't tried either one of those things, but I'm sure they help. I feel like the instructions state not to slit the tops (maybe I'm imagining that).

  • Bella totally copied sunbeam i have the sunbeam one

  • @ThePuglover7 Totally! And Sunbeam copied Breville. They are all great machines. I really looove my Sunbeam appliances!! (:

  • Great video !

  • @daviddavido Thank you!!

  • If you do not want the pie to dry out, take an ice cream size scoop of your filling and freeze it. Then when you come to cook the pies put the frozen filling into the pie.

  • @10p6 That's a great idea, thanks!

  • I liked the idea of small pies. It bakes fast, BUT...all of the moisture (liquid) spills out of the pie. The moisture in the apples and sugar, caramelized on the surface of the baker and it is very difficult to clean it off. They should have made it so the top could come off and be cleaned in the sink. Also the bottom crust does not always stick to the top crust. It fell apart when taking it out of the baker

  • @gemrosegarden1 I've used it twice now and everything was great, baking to cleanup. Are you placing the larger circle in the well and then the smaller one on top? I had a little bubbling, but it was fine and cleaned up very easily.

  • how cool! i have to get one now!!!

  • @ownhomedog I'm tellin' ya! It's a great deal!!

  • YUM! I'm a gadget nerd, I buy them and half I don't like LOL But anything that has "Pie" in the name, I'm in. LOL I have two "mini" pie pans (about the size of the crust cutter you showed) ... I do mini maple pumpkin pies in them. I'll email you the recipe in case you want to try it. It's scaled down so it might be perfect for this gadget.

  • @StephanieD2 I've seen the mini pie pans, but hedl out because I wanted to get that awesome Breville one at Williams Sonoma. When I saw this at Kohl's, I jumped! I almost have the full line of the Baby Cakes gadgets, too!

  • now I'm hungry. lol thnx for sharing

  • @angelsandfaes LOL!!

  • They look good. Hope all going well for you. Schuyler vswaddy620@yahoo.com

  • @vswaddy620 Thank you, Schuyler! Hopefully, I'll have a minute to call you today!! I hope you have had a chance to enjoy some of those goodies you recently got! (;

  • Those look yummy! Thanks for sharing , Khols here I come.

  • @Luvstamp07 I don't go to Kohl's very often, and then when I do go I remember why I don't. Because I loooove everything they have!

  • thanks for sharing I am always looking for something to prepare a quick treat and I think I have found it. My daughter loves peach pies and this would do the job. I'm off to Kohls tomorrow. thank you again

  • @4591mazda Exactly! I also bought apple pie filling to try it out. I have canned peaches from last summer, I should try those! Thanks for the idea!!

  • wow they look great. Yum Yum

  • @motherbear1969 Thank you! I prefer to make things from scratch, especially pies. But for a quick and easy dessert, this really fit the bill! They were yummy, yummy!

  • I hope my local khols has it, It would be nice for holidays.

  • @mrsovwatson That's what I thought, too! I can't believe it was so inexpensive! They should have it, it seems like all Kohl's carry the same things! Good luck!!
