@eatstayplay Could someone please recommend a good geocache website for Flagstaff, AZ (Where this video is taken). It says on the eatstayplay website that there are over 900 geocaches and I can't seem to find the coordinates. Please help!
@SquareReveler Go to the website and most of the attractions in Flagstaff have coordinates AND a link to nearby geocaches. But Flag isn't a great destination for winter caching (snow & mud) so you might want to wait until spring. Let me know if that doesn't work for you.
@ryanb915 Thanks! It's actually a picture of the lake where I was. It's easier to green screen the into rather than fight with lousy sound on location!
@31buce31 That was the original intention. But my dad was my camera man. If the whole swimming in the lake made me uncomfortable it TOTALLY freaked him out. (He doesn't swim at all) and wasn't interested in hanging around to get some footage. You know, sometimes you just work with what you've got!
$40 flashlight!? I could have made you one for under $5! Just need a ziploc type bag, a flashlight, and some duck tape. Instant, cheap, and [if done correctly] floaty waterproof flashlight.
The container was probably blue, and with those tinted goggles, you couldn't see it!! How bout sharing the co-ords, so we can go look for the flashlight....
There's this new technology called a lanyard. It uses this space age device called string to tether any item to another. Like a flashlight to a wrist. NASA has some spare time now, I'm sure they could help with some of the quite extensive engineering.
@geocachespoilers Thanks! It was a lot more fun to MAKE the video than it was to swim in the lake. I DID think about trying the cache again -- for about a minute! Then I remember that the lake was creepy and I decided not to.
@lakedawgs I know I should have. I did read it, I just don't think it registered with me that the cache might not be there. And I TOTALLY wanted to pop up with cache in hand, smiling and having a grand time.
Awww, Kim... you should have checked out the cache before making the video! LOL I would have LOVED to see your smiling face pop up out of the water with cache in hand. There are quite a few VERY well done water caches out there, I'm sorry this one wasn't in tact for your experience. :(
Actually, the GPS stayed on shore. It was really clear which buoy the geocache was supposed to be under. And, my dad's is STILL going on about his flashlight!
How the fuck is that even extreme?

you should have brought your scuba gear.... this is not extreme enough.

I got a FTF on a buoy once, except I paddled my canoe.

@SamBaine91 :) The issue was that the lanyard didn't stay on my wrist. I had one, it was just a NASA defect!

To bad about the DNF.
If it had been me I probably would have destroyed the buoy trying to find the cache.

Forget the $40 flashlight how did you keep your expensive GPS unit dry?!
I would think to put it in a clear watertight dry bag even if the GPS is labeled "water resistant".

Thank you so much! Somebody emailed me and asked me if I was really freaked out by the water or if I was just "hamming it up."
Trust me, it was VERY scary down there.

Wow, Kim, you rock! I enjoyed this video and admire your tenacity in going after this cache. Keep it up and see on you on the cache road some time!
