They get more than enough of this at SWOrlando. None of their physical needs are being neglected. Mentally, they are kept active and entertained by doing what they do in the wild: PLAYING. They are loved, cared for and played with, so you can hardly say they are neglected...

I'm for animals kept in captivity. They are safe from predators, hunters and stupid human activity like lost trash and polluted water, but Sea World has turned into an amusement park. I learned nothing about the animals in any of the shows, I only saw tricks, and these animals don't get nearly enough living space. One year of Zoology doesn't make me an animal expert at all, but I'm sure they all need at least twice the space they currently have.

they did the exack same thin in san diego except when it was time for the pilot whales and the dophlins wouldnt go back in the cage and being stuborn but they did eventualy

i love seaworld i go there every year and ive never missed one year and i hope to work there someday i just love the beautiful animals :) and i love the blue horizon show :)

some time in the 90s they saved a baby hump back whale called jj and stoped the shamu show for 15 months and put jj on show for the public live long and protect marine life sea world

at 3:45, they do this trick that gave me chills, it was so cool. I had never seen that before and seeing it live is absolutely magical. Also, that was the most dolphins I had ever seen onstage at the same time-there's like 6-8 of them out there towards the end! Fantastic show, one of a kind. Dolphins really are incredibly magical.

Yeah yeah everyone loves what happens during the show but don't forget the people that have to put up with washing all the fishy costumes at the end of the day (specially as the air con. doesnt work in their part of backstage..)

Actually the people don't mind the fishy costumes. They LOVE their job. And actually they do have air conditioning in their part of the backstage. They have to especially on hot days.

magemystic is correct. I've been to Sea World for their Adventure Camps where they take you behind the scenes and tell/show you everything they do for their animals. The only animals they take from the wild are injured ones, especially manatees which they are trying to save from going extinct. They also rehabilitate sea turtles but sadly some can't be released again because they are too injured and would certainly die. I hate it when people say Sea World is cruel.

magemystic i love you, thats exactly the point im trying to get across!!! realasing animals born in captivity will cause them to die as they would not be able to fend for themselves! seaworld has so many marine mammals as they saved ill/dying animals and nursed them back to health! its not sick, it makes me cry inside that people put these hardworking keepers down!!

seaworld doesnt use captured animals in their shows, the only animals they take from the wild are the ones that are injured, and then they are release again,these were born and raised in captivity, if they release them to the wild they will die because they dont know how to survive in the wild.

actually sea world still uses captive orcas, and they havent thought once about releasing them into the wild.

I know that it is unfairto keep any wild animal cooped up..but you have to think how well they are looked after and they do love human contact, you can tell..they are awesome! I love dolphines
