I'm a Davionfan by myself and I loved MW4 back then but seeing this today... it was so cheesy black and white, with Steiner becoming the typical german hollywoodnazis. In the mission pack, then it turned out that Ian Dresari, your character in the main game, was a dick himself and you head to kill him and all his friends, which was shitty, too, lol. But at least MW4 Mercs did tell a good story and was defenetly the best microsoft MW game.

I was hired to play Ian Dresari in this video (the blonde guy) . It has some weird camera direction and some bad acting but the game was good. It was fun making it! We shot all that video no green screen in one day. Why did they make me hold that hug on the duchess? I don't know... and how about a couple more close-ups of people....

It's a Leopard-class Dropship, capably of carrying only 5 'Mechs.

You can tell the difference easily between Jumpships and Dropships - Jumpships have solar sails

But since im not a huge fan of the mechwarrior series and i only played the first and second mechassault plus the second mechwarrior (wich's weird controls distasted me at the time) sooo yeah...

Yeah, they are much larger and very poor in the weapons department. And because they are so rare (none since the Star League era) there is an unwritten law that no-one should attack and destroy them - even the Clans enforce this rule.

Don't base MechWarrior solely on the games - try reading the BattleTech books they are much better and give more feel to the scale of things.

I found this ending incredibly unsatisfying, I ended up reloading to get the other one. The whole GAME is about Ian taking his fathers throne and for the -good ending- to deprive him of that is stupid.

The bad ending doesn't even seem tragic. Nobodys at all bothered you let your sister die except mechkeeper willy.

Yeah, no kidding. Apparently Microsoft couldn't afford a "boom mic" either. You can barely understand what the hell they're saying. They should've been able to fix some of it in editing, but they didn't appear to even bother with that. Not to mention the fact that the [cinematics] music sounds like it was that canned "B" movie synthesized crap that they always use in bad Sci-Fi flicks.

The intro CGI was awesome, while the ending was a total let down.

I guess you're right, they didn't show Casey in this clip. In MW4: Black Knight, Casey Nolan becomes the leader of a cadet training school, and you have to kill him before killing Ian Dresari in the next mission. It was my favorite mission because I hated Casey and it's fun to try and kill as many cadets as possible.

This was my fav ending. I played through this game with the other ending. (Where you get the better 'Mechs and armor, weaps and other stuff, over saving Ian's sis's life.)I find it ironic, that you can kill Ian Drisari in MW4: Mercs? OR was it Black Knight? OR Vengance? I don't remember.

Sorry, I was kinda in a mood when I wrote my last comment. For the kind of budget games typically had in 2000, it's not bad. The wide shot of the whole hall before they start talking is pretty good. The rest of the shots just have some lighting mismatches between the background and the actors that make it hard to believe the people are actually in that room and not just pasted on to a background picture.
