@thunder393 - I use a Uniden BC72XLT Handheld scanner. I got mine at The Source. If you are American, The Source is a Canadian version of Radio Shack. Sorry it took a while to reply.
Correct me if I am wrong here, but isn't Goderich Salt mine the largest in the world. It goes down a mile and out under Lake Huron some 5 miles. Is the GEXR Canadian or are they owned by Rail America? I guess that is the end of the line for those F units, or do you know if they are going too use them or build one from parts of the others? I love Goderich I've been there a number of times over the years when i was ship fanning back in the 80's and 90's.
The line in Goderich goes from Goderich to Stratford and is owned by GEXR and is called the GEXR Goderich Sub. The main line in Stratford streatches from London to CN Silver in Georgetown and is also owned by GEXR and is called the GEXR Guelph Sub. GEXR also owns a Spur to Elmira called the Waterloo Spur. Parts of that Spur are owned by the city of Waterloo.
Good to know NOW that the HELM Leasing SD40-2s bold graphics are still in reasonable shape. I hope these SD40-2s are still running, when so many have been retired or scrapped.
Somebody in Canada bought only Yellow Retroreflective striping for locomotives and they are going to use as much of it as possible. They could use white to match the colors of the paint scheme.
Love that turbo whine! Railfanners love this stuff, but I bet the people stuck at that crossing aren't too thrilled...
