Listen i had this problem when i join online server but the problem i find out is INTERNET DOWNLOAD MANAGER if you have installed it just uninstall it that was the problem in my windows 7 and vista with counter strike 1.6 but i dont play on source so if you have any download manager uninstall it.

when i'm going on a css server the window shuts down and it says that "couldn't allocate client ip port" and then after a while it says "hl2.exe has stopped working .... please reply me if u know how to get it fixed :)

well many of these things might work but what ever u do DO NOT USE :the dxlevel stuff like dxlevel_8 or 9 or 70 or 81 becuse that might fuck upp youre games and if u already have,then write -dxlevel 101 in ure starter options or mat_dxlevel 101 in ure console

guys try to put the game folder into common like this C:/program files/steam/steamapps/username then take the css folder and cut it out then paste it into C:/program files/steam/steamapps/common and start css it worked for me have fun!

I had an error like this for Garrys Mod, truns out it was trying to launch using the wrong version of direct x, try right clicking the game in your 'My Games' list and click properties. Click set launch options and type '-dxlevel 81' without the quoats and click OK. Hope this works for you!

you just had it for some hours only so i recking to reinstall windows and css, mutch shit, but i like the feeling of a new clean start:P

I can tell u an idea, i had same problem so i deleted my client registry.BLOB file! now works a charm!

Right click start and click open!

Click ur folders icon on ur toolbar

find program files on the left view menu and open it!

(at this point a warning appears but ignore)

Find your steam file and open!

Find the clientregistry.blob file and delete!

exit steam leave it for say 5 mins and then sign in again. updates should appear then try loading, hope it works :D
