@pomfrit93 - I agree that the SH-101 is a true classic which deserves a place in synth history and my intent is to honor and acknowledge that. I also believe that there have been several synths over the years that also deserve a place alongside the SH-101 in the “synth hall of fame.” I respect that people have a variety of opinions regarding the microKORG. Personally, I think that it is very fun and respectable instrument that has introduced synthesis to many.
@PolaroidsPyramids Thanks for your fast comment! :) i've got em' both and they are wonderfull beginner synths. i still use my 101 alot!. but the microkorg dosent seem to get used to that much. Sad actually :( Anyway. nice job on the synth. we need more people like you that does such things :) Cheers ;)
@PolaroidsPyramids Oh definatly the Microkorg was and is a big success. It's cheap, sounds good and is flexible. I liked the DW-Waveforms a lot. But at least it was too tiny and the programming didn't do it for me. But it deserves a Place in modern Synth History. A good Instrument to get into the Synth-World as you already mentioned. Neat Mod!
How do you customized it? Did you make the design?
I wanna customize my own.. I'm looking for the layout/template of the microkorg skin (with the functions text and all that stuff... Like a .EPS or PDF... in vector or something, to edit and print a sticker.
@7FM7 Thanks! This is a one of a kind. I came up with the basic design and Custom Synth and I refined it together. You can check out their website and see what they have to offer. Good luck with your synth!
@ChickenVendetta Thanks! Let me just say that it cost more than a lot of other people would have paid, but I had some extra money at the time. Most of the cost was due to the fact that Custom Synth is in England and I live in the U.S. and shipping, etc. was expensive.
wow i saw the custon synth website and i was scared that thye may be some type os scam people... but now i'v seen how good they are i might use them one day!! thats one cool synth btw!
The physical connection is simply attaching it (securely) to the microkorg with screws. I can't speak to the specifics of the electronics - I hired Custom Synth to do the work. You can find them by clicking on the link to our MySpace page in the video description, then clicking on Custom Synth's icon in our top friends list. Good luck!
