OK...so far the musik you make and shared has inspired me to become a total insect nerd.... I have been digesting the MM and MD and a DSI poly evolver... thanks for the inspiration :::)
I have to say...you got skills!! This is just the style I like....chilly and deep. Perfect to listen to when driving, or for laidback dancing in the early morning.
I'm checking out what to buy atm. Original 303, xoxbox or some other replica with modern functions. And also a TR-808/909 or something similar. I've always wanted to make this kinda music myself, with real hardware....not with computer trackers like Screamtracker or Fasttracker - which I played with when I was younger.
i would love to have it.. hear they are putting out a new product sometime in the future. But for now I've got a spec, MD UW, R2 and those cover a tremendous amount of sonic territory. The spectralis is a warmer instrument though and the mono has that cold as space eeriness that is perfect. I would way rather have it than other digital stuff out there.
Intimidating? No way, it's one of the easiest synths to program IMO. UI is great and the individual monosynths aren't that complicated so you never get lost. Ease of use is one it's selling points I think, the way the sequencer ad the synth are integrated is superb, it takes only a few minutes to get a nice groove going on.
I was looking at the monomachine as a synth to get, however; i went to elektrons site to read about it, and it seems like it is intimidating to program. Can you confirm or dispel my assumption?
Pardon the noob question, but what's the revolution doing in this case? I can hear what both the 888 and mono are doing, but I can't quite hear what the retro is doing. I'm new to this stuff, so go easy :)
Wish I could put this on repeat and just travel for a few hours...BEAUTIFUL. You have inspired my to indulge in some serious electronic gear. Thanks Radambe!
Absolutely beautiful music, and wonderful microdrops throughout. Great work on the 8's mutes..and a lovely tuned kit on the MnM. Can't say enough good things on this...made my afternoon.
i have been cautious until now about posting a vid of live mixing, cos i do not wish to seem like a gear whore .. anyway, thanks for the inspiration. this is honest good music and nice frequencies.
btw as regards the bassline, i do like the melodies that you play.
perhaps listen to the beautiful track "Cygne" by Mr Sam for awesome bass that rolls like a platinum bead in a golden bowl.
I like this BUT...(objective criticism here) it becomes pretty monotonous after 4-5 minutes. I kept waiting for a dark and heavy bassline undercurrent which never appeared AND this would be great if you kicked in some glitchy drum and bass at some point. (the basic house beat and other riff was pretty bland) A for effort but would love to hear it tweaked with the suggestions and about a 7 min. remix!
ha, yeah for sure man.... was just a quick jam nothin special. I had just opened the monomachine and was mostly just interested in seeing how it sounded in a mix
@joselchino W--T--F ?? Do you waste your days going though old YouTube posts? I wrote that a fucking year ago. My "music" you refer to is, as I can only assume, the 1 video I have up which was a test and NOT anything I was trying to put out as a song dickweed. I was simply trying to beatmatch a sample with a new piece of hardware.
Get a life and stay relevant...or at least in the last month for christs sake.
@SimSamurai uuuhh... im sorry.. i see my comment hurt you so much.. hahaha .. go and apply your own words to yourself "Get a life and stay relevant.."
This jam sounds great. Great Sunday morning, have a coffee and a smoke and just sit back and listen to the vibes. :)
I listened to this and the other 888 videos many times last week before deciding on the XBase888 after missing out on a 909 and an 808. Sweet ass analog machine, I love the 888!
it is??? optical illusion? i don´t believe in levitation...hahaha. no, i´d really like to know cause i can´t see anything that makes it beein´up there.
i like your videos by the way. not many youtubers are able to use that kind of equipment to do music, they just show what they own. i never had that feeling watching your videos...
I agree... I'd like to know too... what kind of stand is that? I personally would love to have some company out there build us some nice stands for all these table top synths and drum machines that we have... Please :)
