The Return from Fingal - Chieftain V3 Low whistle

I just bought one of these and I can hear the air blowing through the whistle when I am playing. Is this normal? the notes are fine but you can hear the faint blowing of air in the background?

So used to the flute that holding the whistle straight feels weird, eh? I have the opposite problem - going from clarinet to whistle to flute, the sideways thing takes getting used to.
