@zyklon109 Same as the LP art. Usually new copies will have a sticker stating the rerecordings. In case not look on the back cover. If there is a brief summary about the album and its turn on Ozzie's career it is the 2002 issue. The recent extended version of the album which says Legacy Edition on the front cover has the original tracks.
Yea that SICK drum roll at the beginning that gives Randy the fire he requires DEFINITELY needs to be replaced. How can you not imagine that the original musicians ALL fed off each other creatively, creating that UNIQUE time period sound that can NEVER be reproduced through cheaper session musicians at a later time.
lee kerslake .and bob daisley were great musicians.at this time ozzy had the best musicians ever.the only thing i never liked about it was that both of them uptil now .they never have given a single credit or talk how much or how big randy rhoads was.is known that randy never liked lee.and bob was always intimidating randy.so i give props to ozzy.for earasing their playing in the albums.they are 2 ungreatful motherfuckers.i still love the original recording .but hate those 2 guy
@bengativo6 Yeah dude, Bob and Lee had their heads up their asses. I know two guys my dad was friends with in the Blue Cheer fam that'd have eaten them for breakfast musically and offered me a bone as a toothpick. Similar names too. Hmmm.
@bengativo6 Yeah dude, Bob and Lee had their heads up their a**es. I know two guys my dad was friends with in the Blue Cheer fam that'd have eaten them for breakfast musically and offered me a bone as a toothpick. Similar names too. Hmmm.
@bengativo6 Your post if crap. Randy loved Bob. Ozzy punched Randy when they were on tour. How much did Ozzy love Randy? Not much I'd say. You can erase their playing but you can take away the fact that Bob wrote some great tunes with Randy and Lee contribute a lot too. I don't know where you got your facts but they are wrong.
@JonHawaii2003 o well you tell that to the guitar world ..ozzy osbourne 2004 special edition..and now i have a question for you.where did you get the facts that ozzy punched randy?.i dont know where you got your facts .but they are wrong too.
@bengativo6 Randy had told Kelli Garni it had happened. Ozzy also punched Rudy Sarzo. Guitar world ey? lol Was it from an interview with Ozzy? He's known to tell the truth right?
@JonHawaii2003 what kind of person are you? do you like ozzy yes or no? o well randy told ozzy if you want me to i can send you the little interview to you in a message...i wouldnt call ozzy a liar i dont think he would swear in the name of randy..he loved randy.maybe he punched him not in a bad way.you know drunk people do a lot of shit ,but i m sure ozzy feels randy was his best friend ever.
@coreykoepsel What they deserve is to admit the truth. And the truth is that heavy metal had its forebearers playing in America long before Sabbath. Cream, BLUE CHEER, Hendrix and The Experience, The MC5, Steppenwolf... those guys came LONG before Sabbath, man! o.O Scoff if they will but that shit is why I think they fucked with little Randy Rhoads. Petty ass fuckin' jealousy, dude. They never did shit when Lemmy was around. Hmm, I fuckin' wonder why! Cowardly pos.
I was a teenager when this album was released I heard it an new right away something was different . listened to this album every day when I got home from school with my headphones on . I had tickets to the capital center largo MD show. Randy died a week before I was supposed to see him.
@Luxmaxnike No. I got the 2002 reissues of both albums and I forget who it was, but it wasn't Don Airey. I lost the little booklet to Diary, so I don't know about Diary (It sounds like it though) Look at the liner notes on the 2002 edition of Blizzard.
@Luxmaxnike It's alright. I had been looking at the liner notes to Blizzard for days straight (When I first got the CD) and the big thing was the rhythm section and I went to the keyboards and I think (I'm not even sure about this) that it said John Sincalir.
@mrdeersniper According to Bob Daisley, the keyboardist on Diary was a guy named Johnny Cook. Airey appears on Blizzard but was unavailable for Diary.
Thanks for posting these "Originals" mate ! This sounds EPIC on this Weed i`ve smoked !! Randy was still improving as a player! ......? Peace Ye`all !! PS.. Couldn`t you post the actual track "Diary Of A Madman ?Please !"
This was the first song i ever heard by Ozzy. My dad has this album, well not this album. It has just the middle picture on the cover. And the first time i heard it i was hooked.
This sounds way better than the redone version, you can hear the Bass hella good on this, the other sounds sloppy cant hear the Bass as good,Trujillio sucks compared to Bob Daisley,Sharon can suck my balls that bitch has corrupted the mind of Ozzy whats left of it
I have the first version of Blizzard of Ozz...not the one with OZZY going down the side. The original release and it's slightly different. It's harder to hear the bass and drums...but if you listen hard you can tell how much greater it is...no disrespect to the musicians who redid the songs.
ok so i guess i'll be the different one here, i actually like the drums for this song in the newer version better, i think its a little more muted or something and i like it, and since everyone's going to hate me anyway for saying that i might as well say as well that i'll give ozzy the benefit of the doubt and give a guess that randy was the one that wrote the bass and drum parts anyway, idk for sure, but he was the most amazing musician in the world so i'd believe it
I came across Blizzard of Ozz in an antique shop with random shit everywhere in my town, picked it up and thought "Yes! Blizzard, I need this! But it's probably the '02 release so... *looks at back and see's '95* FUCK!!!" Best $7 I ever spent. We miss you Randy.
@fadetoblack1290 I came across Blizzard Of Ozz,& Diary Of A Madman at a used CD Store look at the back & sees 1981 on both cool I got the originals not the 95 remasters
@blizzarddiaryozzy I love how the 2002 remaster butcher the awesome guitar tone with the new drum and bass parts, dont fix what aint broken. Good thing the original parts are being remastered soon. Nothing beats vinyl tho.
Dear Internet Assholes, Keyboard Warriors, and various other douchebags,
A difference of opinion is not the end of the world, and marking something as "spam" when it differs from your view makes you appear to be totalitarian in your world view and nothing short of an absolutely rock solid reason for restarting America's early 20th century eugenics programs. In other words, Get The Fuck Out Of The Gene Pool!
its stupid because i own all the records and bob daisley did most of the work yet they take him out of the picture, even in no more tears he did some of the work yet micheal fag plays on the album he didnt do shit one fucking song no more tears and wasnt even that good
Incredible song. This is pure, powerful, and true metal. Daisly, Rhoads, and Kerslake for life! :)
This song is extremely fun to play on drums..I learned the triplet tom and bass fill, and thank Kerslake evertime I perform it for teaching me awesome trick. :)
~I am not a huge Ozzy fan but this album just kills it from start to finish. Also the remastered disk of this album sucks complete shit. This is an example of Metal in its purest form!~
Who cares who played bass and drums better than who on this song? All that matters is this is great classic Ozzy, and Randy Rhoads' guitar playing CANNOT BE TOUCHED.
i know they shouldnt have messed with the classics. but could you at least have used sarzo and aldrige? they were better sounding than shit bags robert and mike
James is in new metallica, Doesnt make hima bad artist though does it? And so on with the other members. Besides new metallica is alot better than 10 years back.
@ascorbic123 perhaps its just the culture of "new" Metallica fans that really bothers me. its all a bunch of turbo nerds who think theyre badass for playing guitar hero and knowing how to play Iron Man on one string lol. But still, I think Rob bastardized Randy's work, and if it were me there would be no way Id ever want to play on an album that ruins some of the greatest hard rock/heavy metal music of all time.
THANK YOU for putting this up. The only ones I can find on YouTube are the rerecorded ones. They're not that awful, but you don't mess with classic albums.
The reason Sharon had them redone is because the original bassist and drummer sued her over money for playing on the records. These were the only ones she redid, but then other albums like Just Say Ozzy and Ultimate Sin were deleted, and Shot in the Dark was taken off of the Ozzman Cometh.
I toured with the band in 81' I knew Randy well. His mother was only pissed about one thing. It wasn't so much to do with recordings. More how he didn't have his equipment on the first tour. THAT upset both of them.
No, After the reissues came out in 2002, I read an interview with Dee Rhoads, where she said she felt very insulted that Ozzy and Sharon would alter such classic recordings, and that it was an insult to Randy's memory and Legacy. She was also pissed about the fact that they changed some of the pictures on the back of the Tribute album.
Know who does the redone bass parts on the re-releases ??? Rob Trujillo from Metallica. Yeah, what a whore. Hasn't been good since Suicidal Tendencies.
Thanks for very much this. I have the original LP's I bought back in the day with no turntable. How could they have touched this? It's like re-mastering my youth.
Thank you so much for this video. I originally had the 2002 version, but I downloaded this onto my iTunes, and I must say, it sounds better that the '02 version. Thanks again.
@Countdown2Hangar18 Hmm, maybe you didn't understand me.... Sharon is a cunt indeed, but I am thankful she found Ozzy because if she wouldn't then we wouldn't have Ozzy. Not too hard to understand, bub.
@Countdown2Hangar18 Hmm...nah. Not a hypocrite. It's like this... I hate the Beatles and Led Zepplin with a burning passion, but I am thankful for them because they helped start a great musical era. Get it? I'm not sure if I can dumb it down for you anymore.
Wow! Just wow! You need to learn what a hypocrite is. A hypocrite is someone who tells someone not to do something then turns around and does that thing he tells the other person not to do. Get it, junior? The next time you tell someone not to talk shit about Sharon, don't call her a cunt yourself, hypocrite.
@Countdown2Hangar18 Hmm, see, no. I don't like Sharon in the least bit, but I don't go around saying "HEY FUCK SHARON D00D DATS WUSSUP!" This is where we differ.
Thanks for posting these. I bought the bait & switch versions of 2002, and was pissed to say the least. I'll never buy a bit of that buggerin' bastards material or anything his twisted fruit of a wife produces. Thanks!
Don't accpet substitutes. you absolutly need to get the Original recording. The nightmare 2002 re-recordings are horrible. You know Sharon was behind it, she is ruthless and greedy and will do anything not to pay out any royalties. Randy is rolling over in his grave.
The Osbournes are shitbags, and everything this drunk idiot has done since Randy Rhoads died has been a pile of dog shit, Bob Daisley wrote most of the lyrics on Blizzard of Oz. And who are the 2 shitbags that agreed to redo the tracks?? Tommy Aldridge was asked and he said no way, as it is ruining a piece of great musical art, but the Osbournes who only know money and nothing of art did not care about ruining 2 great albums, it;s a disgrace....
I only learned about what has happened with these two albums yesterday. Needless to say I was furious. It's really a shame what money does to most people. Without even realizing it, often times people put monatary values ahead of family values or in this case artistic values. Clearly, they're both miserable people who don't have their priorities straight. Ozzy has always talked about how he feels he hasn't made his Sgt. Peppers yet. Well, he made two brilliant albums and ruined them both.
Those two albums were really pioneering albums, not only in the history of metal. But in the engineering/guitar worlds as well. With the exception of Tom Allom who engineered Judas Priest, and a handful of others. No one had a clue as to how to record a heavy band in 80/81. Listen to Judas Priest or Thin Lizzy's mid 70's work. It sounds like it was recorded in a shoe box. The tones on those two albums were stellar. I can't imagine Max Norman is happy about the situation either....Peace.
@panteraslipknot200 Ok just making sure, because I'm pretty sure he's better than Zakk. Not taking anything away from Zakk because he is talented and a monster guitar player just not the best, neither is Cooley.
@jcane28eatsfatpuss Ozzy did get to make his Sgt.Peppers yet?... Randy didn't even get a chance to show us the stuff that would make any Beatles album look like nothing....
Amen ,bob and lee have sued the osbournes twice to get royalties they are due, won once, lost on appeal. It is that greedy JEW Sharon "OSbourne" Arden that is responsible for the mess. In a Randy Rhoads documentary soon to be released about 30 people all have the same story. the osbournes are the only ones with no factsto back up there story. When Randy Rhoads was killed Sharon tried to change his contract to screw his Dear old mother, she threatend them with a lawsuit and sharon stopped.
Killer fucking solo.

Flickerstruck 2 years ago 2
@Flickerstruck

Really? What was the band?

Happy birthday Bud! Great! Once again who would name their daughter Sabbath Black! I did! She's 17 now and likes it! I've always loved it!

@Countdown2Hangar18 You know, Sharon may be a cunt, but don't talk shit on here because we wouldn't have Ozzy if it wasn't for her.

@fadetoblack1290
You tell me not to talk shit, yet you called her a cunt. Do you love being a hypocrite? I think you do.
Countdown2Hangar18 1 year ago
@Countdown2Hangar18 Hmm, maybe you didn't understand me.... Sharon is a cunt indeed, but I am thankful she found Ozzy because if she wouldn't then we wouldn't have Ozzy. Not too hard to understand, bub.
fadetoblack1290 1 year ago
@fadetoblack1290
I understood you perfectly, Wolverine. That doesn't take away from the fact that you are still a hypocrite. Good job.
Countdown2Hangar18 1 year ago
@Countdown2Hangar18 Hmm...nah. Not a hypocrite. It's like this... I hate the Beatles and Led Zepplin with a burning passion, but I am thankful for them because they helped start a great musical era. Get it? I'm not sure if I can dumb it down for you anymore.
fadetoblack1290 1 year ago
@fadetoblack1290
Wow! Just wow! You need to learn what a hypocrite is. A hypocrite is someone who tells someone not to do something then turns around and does that thing he tells the other person not to do. Get it, junior? The next time you tell someone not to talk shit about Sharon, don't call her a cunt yourself, hypocrite.
Countdown2Hangar18 1 year ago
@Countdown2Hangar18 Hmm, see, no. I don't like Sharon in the least bit, but I don't go around saying "HEY FUCK SHARON D00D DATS WUSSUP!" This is where we differ.
fadetoblack1290 1 year ago
@Countdown2Hangar18 Not if she paid me.

I'm more of a Sabbath fan than an Solo-Ozzy fan, but this album still rules, this is Randy at his peak!

Thanks for posting these. I bought the bait & switch versions of 2002, and was pissed to say the least. I'll never buy a bit of that buggerin' bastards material or anything his twisted fruit of a wife produces. Thanks!

Meh, I like the 2002 versions
TheMetalMan9000 2 years ago

LittleMoosehoof 2 years ago
I only learned about what has happened with these two albums yesterday. Needless to say I was furious. It's really a shame what money does to most people. Without even realizing it, often times people put monatary values ahead of family values or in this case artistic values. Clearly, they're both miserable people who don't have their priorities straight. Ozzy has always talked about how he feels he hasn't made his Sgt. Peppers yet. Well, he made two brilliant albums and ruined them both.
jcane28eatsfatpuss 2 years ago 4
I agree, I think that Blizzard of Ozz was his Sgt. Peppers and Diary of a madman was his dark side of the moon.
Metal doesn't get much better than those two albums, its a shame that he couldnt realize that and let the re-recordings take place!
blizzarddiaryozzy 2 years ago 3
Those two albums were really pioneering albums, not only in the history of metal. But in the engineering/guitar worlds as well. With the exception of Tom Allom who engineered Judas Priest, and a handful of others. No one had a clue as to how to record a heavy band in 80/81. Listen to Judas Priest or Thin Lizzy's mid 70's work. It sounds like it was recorded in a shoe box. The tones on those two albums were stellar. I can't imagine Max Norman is happy about the situation either....Peace.
jcane28eatsfatpuss 2 years ago
you wanna talk shoebox recording? Listen to early Sabbath records, still all classics though!
blizzarddiaryozzy 2 years ago 2
Exactly, Metal before these two albums sounded like it was recorded with Pignose 10 watt amps.
jcane28eatsfatpuss 2 years ago
@blizzarddiaryozzy Or some old KISS - crappy
yourunclehank1 1 year ago
@blizzarddiaryozzy Ozzy will NEVER outdo the first 2.
He started at the top going downhill to right now!
Have you heard his new one. Flaming Dogshit should
be the title. "Will work for autographs" must be why
Patch Adams - I mean Zak Wild"s lame string-bending ass
is still his guitatist. You think after 20+ yrs Ozzy would
at least front him some copies and say "Hey dude
learn these guitar leads and lay off the Brad Gillis rips"
yourunclehank1 1 year ago
@yourunclehank1 he isin't with Zak anymore.

Although I like Gus G I don't care for the latest Ozzy either

Amen ,bob and lee have sued the osbournes twice to get royalties they are due, won once, lost on appeal. It is that greedy JEW Sharon "OSbourne" Arden that is responsible for the mess. In a Randy Rhoads documentary soon to be released about 30 people all have the same story. the osbournes are the only ones with no factsto back up there story. When Randy Rhoads was killed Sharon tried to change his contract to screw his Dear old mother, she threatend them with a lawsuit and sharon stopped.
