The finest sounding album of its time. I agree with all of you who think, electronically, this album is something else. I also agree with those of you who simply love this album. It is, as Ali would say, ALL TIMES!
1Bluesboy1, thanks so much for this video post. I have been telling my friends that Hurry Up is the "Great Lost Poco Song" for a while and now I have a link.
Any chance you could post "Keep on Believing" from the same album?
YEAH!! This was the very first song that I ever heard by Poco when this album first came out. I was hooked ever since.....,went to more than 25 of their concerts over the years...Thanks for the tremendous memories!
This song was such a great eye-opener for this album, which showed that Poco wasn't just a country band (because of Rusty Young on pedal steel). [That's him imitating an organ by running the steel through a Leslie speaker.] The whole album has such a great studio sound, and the arrangements are INCREDIBLE.
@SpencerSpats You gotta put up the long instrumental. I'd love to hear that song again and I can't remember the name of it. I think it was about 20 minutes long and almost took up all of side 1. One of the best songs ever...they smoke big time!
OK: I've been very fond of this tune since it came out. Incidentally, for those of you who know The Oranges Album, isn't the sound quality awesome? Back to this song---what is it? It's not country, it's not rock, it's not jazz. It's great, but what is it?
@bigmarty56 I called it the oranges album too. Saw them first time 1971.--group intact w/ Messina still. Loved this LP. After you posed the question--what is this. I thought OMG..this is very close to raggae --in the first half anyway.. No one knew of raggae back then. BONUS Thanks to the internet.. I NOW know all the words to Keep On Believin' -- great song, never could make it all out.
"Nobody's Fool " / "El Tonto De Nadie Regresa" - do, do ,do, do , do-do, do-do.... The best jam tune of the era. This album convinced me to become a serious musician. 40 years later 'the Oranges album' remains in my top 5. Long live Poco....
This is the one and only album I ever had of Poco. Bought it at a flea market in the 70's. The more I listened to it the more it grew on me. I appreciate there music even more now.
I used to play this song on the radio back in 1969 in Santa Barbara, Ca. I was a disc jockey at KCSG-FM. The band I used to manage was called Goldstreet and they opened the concert for Poco way back then.

Brilliant, mad talent in this band. Makes me sad they never got the recognition & credit they rightly deserved.

An absolute favorite album of mine from the summer of 1970. And how great a guitarist is Jim Messina?

George Grantham -- great guy, met him once.
Had a stroke during a show few years back -- he's the "high harmony" in their singing.

Great cut, but the entire album was really a gem-a Spanish/country/percussive/jazz/rock fusion masterpiece!

Richie Furay still can sing this well.
This was Poco's best lineup and before Timothy B. left for The Eagles and Jim Messina joined forces with Kenny Loggins.
