Sure a youngin can own a nitro or electric RC, but they clog up every message board and raceway except for RCtech.

There's one youngin at my local raceway probly about 15, has a job, runs in pro truggy and placed pretty well in the oregon state champs, I don't even feel odd givin him a beer before the main.

Then there's the little snobs who come in and hack drive running their traxxas garbage into peoples machines while they try to practice.

Nitro isn't a spur of the moment "cool thing" that you can mass market. Most people who start this hobby are clueless idiots, they are dumbfounded when they go to run it and many never even get it started, send it back to the manufacturer after screwing it up or chuck it and give the hobby a bad rep.

It sucks though, stupid laymen enter this hobby thinking "It's so cool" and they simply don't have a clue. Then they if you can afford a nitro you can afford to go to a tech school and take some classes on auto mechanics, do your best to learn from racers at a local track and THEN start the hobby.
