  • You should move to Asheville! Even if you didn't exactly like living near Downtown.. (I used to live downtown and it was nice for a while but I wanted to move somewhere more quiet but still not far from things.. like near Biltmore Park or Arden.. I love it out here!) Anyway.. Yes It is amazing here and you would love it!!!!

  • Your lucky those animals don't have a George Forman grill, you would be the first to grill up, I could imagine the greece that would roll off. You heartless rednecks belong in North Carolina.

  • What an idiot! Points out that Asheville has a Blockbuster video and a great mall...but says they didn't go to Biltmore because they were not interested in seeing an old house!! This person is going to be a teacher!!! No wonder our children are in so much trouble!

  • @mykelsut sorry I do not have something educational to say about everything in my life. especially while a sophomore in college. take a chill pill, please

  • You should teach at Black Mountain Elementary!

  • where do you live, i like north carolina too, the environment looks great, and asheville does look great, I'm thinking about going up their some time just for a short vacation, i like where i live (around atlanta) but i love the mountains in nc.

  • I was born and raised in Asheville and I can honestly say Ive been all the way from the East coast to the West coast but theres no place like Asheville. Its my hometown.

  • If you're so educated, why do you want to live in Asheville? It's mostly homeless people and other sorts of freaks. You posted this two years ago. Hope you changed your plans. I just got back from there two days ago - love the Grove Park Inn but besides that & the Biltmore - nothing for intelligent people to do.

  • try weaverville....its great :) just a small town though, about 10-15 mins from asheville....or swannanoa....or Madison County (no need to name a city there :) I love Madison county.

  • lol.... stay away.

  • will do. don't want to live in that shitty town, anyway.

  • Asheville really is not as great as it is perceived to be. If you have an open mind, and are accepting of EVERYTHING then you would like it.

It has been referred to as San Fransisco jr. ha ha. Honestly, If you love constand construction, Terrible traffic, bad drivers, drugs, prostitution, trash......then you might like asheville.

Seriously.......Pack Square and the surrounding down town area is NOT all of ASHEVILLE. Check out the other parts. everything > asheville

  • So, did you move to Asheville? Do you still like it? It seems like a nice place to visit and a beautiful place to live, but the people don't seem to like outsiders as much as it's um.. 'advertised'.

I moved to Kentucky with my husband a few years ago looking for that great southern hospitality and was deemed a 'damn yankee' and a 'jersey girl' everywhere I went just because i'm from the north.. discrimination sucks.

  • well yall folks from up north hate on us souther ppl to. so stop complaining ya dam yankee! haha

  • not all northerners 'hate' people from the south. i don't. that wasn't very nice of you to say. :(

  • im just messin around. i dont care where ya from. not all souther ppl hate on norther ppl. you shud just chil with the hippies round here. they accept any one.

  • Yeah, we don't enjoy the tourism. Obviously it fuels our local economy, but tourism is not what makes our town. Our individualism is what makes our town... that's what brings the tourism in.

This girl mentions Cheeseburger in Paradise and Biltmore House... these are probably the LEAST representitive items of Asheville.

  • I think it is the past history and topography that make Asheville. The individualism I saw there made me want to go home and take a shower. The people working in cafes had on dirty t-shirts, they needed to brush their teeth, and their hair didn't look clean. Don't get me wrong - the food was good and they were nice but hygiene means a lot to me. We only ate downtown once and ate at the Grove Park Inn the rest of the time.

  • Well, as someone who has grown up in Asheville, the topography and history are an awesome part of the city.

As a residence, those two things can become mundane and repetitive. The individualism, the art, the unpredictability, etc... is what really makes Asheville tolerable for me.

If there were any issues with hygiene in these restaurants, it would show on their health score. Most places in Asheville have fairly high to perfect ratings, otherwise, they don't do well.

  • All I know is that an employee of a very popular cafe named after a love interest of a very popular singer (I'm trying to be nice and not mention the cafe) came out wearing a filthy t-shirt with the name of the cafe on it and was holding a head of lettuce in his hand up next to his shirt. At another eatery, the waitress said "lovely" "wonderful" "amazing" "beautiful" after every item I or my spouse ordered - even when I requested a straw! Her hair/clothes were a mess but the food was good.

  • Yeah, I can believe that. Usually, if there are any health issues with a restaurant, it will be all over the news.

I feel safe saying that most places downtown are very clean when it comes to what they serve. The people, maybe not... haha

  • Asheville is amazing but too many people are miving here :( and all the tourists take parking spots that are for the workers

  • Amazingly talented people are here in Asheville...and they're really humble about it, too. Some may want to move out, but more want to move in. Enjoyed your video and best to you!

  • Murphy ,,no malls? Must have plenty of buffets!

  • my, you sure are witty

  • I saw the Biltmore this summer! It was amazing! So much more than an old house :)

  • omg! i went to Asheville over the summer! And I went to the Biltmore! It was awesome, not just an old house. It was soooooo pretty, but ya Asheville is pretty I love it there. ♥♥♥

  • In this video she said that there was no alcohol allowed. Is Buncombe county dry now?

  • no.

  • Asheville is so incredibly overrated! What a crap place.

I've been there two or three times over the last couple of years and i hope to never return.

  • It's not a place 4 oldheads so I'm sure u didn't fit in.

  • Sorry Asheville didn't exceed your expectations. Overrated? All depends on your experience I guess.

  • Overrated i guess you didn't see the real ashevile then because asheville is not overrated!!

  • I live in Asheville. Its a great place if you wanna stay here for a while but if you want to live her for a long time. Forget it. IT sucks if you dont live down town. Thats where all the cool stuff happins. People say we have alot of weirdos but its not that bad. I've been living here for 14 years and i wanna get out.

  • I live in Asheville. It rules.

  • cheeseburger in paradise is no longer here cause asheville sucks ass

  • Asheville sucks ass. I hate this fuckin place

  • Yes Christine, that's a good way to describe small towns in the middle of nowhere: Stupid and boring. I now say those same words LOL

    5 stars!

  • it is beautiful.i go every year

  • You're beautiful!

  • :)

and you are funny! i loved your clap dance video! :)

  • so there is so much I want to say, but I won't. just one thing though, can you explain how you "grill chicken or steak" on a george Forman grill...without dying? Also, where in the hell is "Coral springs"?

  • I live just outside of Asheville and luv it !!! So. . . good choice, especially for someone young like yourself. Don't listen to negative jerks. Someone as nice & educated as yourself, would be an asset to anyplace they moved to. Best of everything to ya. Peace, Luv & Laughs. . . :)

  • Hell yeah! Asheville kicks ass!

  • It's so sad that folks can't be kind! I think that it is great to have plans and to take time to seriously consider your life's location. Rock on, Christine! You have a great future ahead of you. Asheville is beautiful and so are you!!!

  • You go to Asheville and all you care about is a couple of chain restaurents and the mall. Their is so many other great things to see and do their.

  • i cared about those things b/c where i am from there is no mall. there are no chain restaurants. i am from murphy, nc where there is NOTHING around for at least 2 hours.

  • Don't listen to these negative morons. Move where you want. You are right, Ashville is lovely. I have family there. Believe me, if I could, I would move there myself. Maybe someday.

You are a young woman with lots to look forward to. Don't listen to negative schmucks! My advice to you.

  • yeah no doubt, i wish you assholes would quit moving here....its over populated enough as it is....go back to the pits of hell where you came from

  • wow, asheville must be all assholes and pricks. what kind of attitude is that to have about your city? how the hell are you ever going to evolve and learn from people if you are so narrowminded? i cannot believe you waste your time on a computer doing nothing more than leaving hateful comments to people you dont know. nice....

  • funny considering this is YOUR video and you were talking about how much you love asheville.second, it is way over crowded. third, do you know why its so beautiful is because its not like Charlotte or Raleigh full of millions of people. You want to keep Asheville beautiful like i do? dont bring millions of people in here to polute it, make it over populated and destroy our beautiful scenery and enviroment. Its not a hateful comment.Dont believe me, thats fine, ask anyone else in Asheville.

  • trust me, i know what its like to live in a beautiful, unpopulated place. i live in murphy, NC. there is nothing there. its a wonderful little town nestled in the mountains. we don't want tons of people moving there either, but we don't go around saying "wish you assholes would quit moving here......go back to the pits of hell where you came from." a little uncalled for. just saying...

  • Well said Christine, well said.

  • Asheville is now promoted to be the USA's most vegetarian friendly city with a wide range of interesting vegetarian dishes in several restaurants. A very artistic town to stay healthy and fit in.

  • people need to stop moving to asheville

  • um YEAH! i totally agree! i've lived here my whole life and just these past couple years its changed sooo much because people keep moving here and just destroying the culture! EVERYBODY STAY HOME!!!

  • Look Likes you have fun there.

  • i had a lot of fun :) asheville is gorgeous!
