This is a good cover. It is sad that Dio is gone. I remember seeing him in 1983 when I was 18. That was his North American tour for Holy Diver. Its good to know there are bands like Hammerfall that carry the old Heavy Metal traditions.
Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse die from drug overdose, and the world makes a huge ass deal out of it. But when Ronnie James Dio dies from stomach cancer with no history of drug abuse, but no one remembers him.
@TheARizzle101 It's asbolutely sad. Dio was my hero, and most people don't even know his name. The best we can do is say, 'I remember him. I won't forget him. I won't forget what Dio taught me.' Keep raising your horns, and Dio will never die. I'll toast yor health, friend.
@TheARizzle101 People need to be reminded that Amy Winehouse died, in my opinion she brought NOTHING new to the table and will be quickly forgotten. Michael Jackson got the attention deserved of an entertainment titan's death. How ever I STILL see new posts marked RIP Ronnie James Dio on almost every post even related to the man. Don't worry. We remember him. We just gotta keep passing it on. Give your friends a CD! Dio is Power. Dio is Metal. Dio is eternal. RIP Ronnie James Dio
@HTHStudios Amen brother. I gave presentation on the Monkey man (urban myth) for my college English class and had a picture of Amy Winehouse. Apparently, she has a song called 'Monkey man' too. Mind you, she looked like drug crazed alcoholic hooker. That's when I said "I have no respect for Amy Winehouse what so ever" to everyone. If someone died doing something crappy or worthless, I wouldn't exactly cry.
i'm from mexico, a country that ignorence rule the goverment, but, when ronnie dies. all local news papers made an article about him and many peolpe cry his death, and today here, is still someone very loved in this side in the world,
@TheARizzle101 WHO THE FUCK SAYS NO ONE REMEMBERS HIM?!?!?! lots of people remember and respact dio some even more than when he was alive, the only difference is that dio's death wasnt cover by the media enough R.I.P Dio god of metal
@crimsongloryXV Ask anyone, they'll know about Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson AND EXACTLY how they died. Ask them about Ronnie and only a few people will be able to tell you about him. I love Dio and respect him, but for a guy who has the voice of a god and songs that have become instant, incomparable legends, he deserves a lot more than Amy Shithouse
@TheARizzle101 DIO is rocking in HELL making gigs for satan and all the tough demons, while michael jackson is probably dancin and making gay shit for the sainnts
@TheARizzle101 What the hell are you talking about, no one remembering dio?? Still people are singing him praises, on every song there is a R.I.P. post... think before you post!
@SARVronski You don't get it, bud. Society is giving its praise to people like Houston, MJ, and Winehouse. People who died from drug abuse. Drugs aren't cool. Dio, on the other hand, has died from stomach cancer with NO history of drugs and people just moved on like it was a regular day. We treated them like fucking saints. Dio? not even a mention in news. I know people post 'RIP Dio' on his vids, but not the entire worlds knows him.
@TheARizzle101 shedded a tear to this because it's fucking true no one but us metalheads who have a fucking taste in GOOD music give this man any sort of appraisal.
@Metalhead15712 , yes, no one can mimic Dio, he was a great artist, but in general I disagree that making a cover or a tribute to an artist should be treated the same as mimic, instead, this is a way to honor the original artist and his/her work.
On December 24,2006 at 8 o' clock in the morning, a young 14 year old boy by the name of Scott Jackson was found dead.Doctors couldn't come up with the cause of his death. His mother checked his emails to see if she could figure out what happened.Turns out he was still signed in to myspace.she found he had gone to sleep after he read and didn't repost a chain letter.if you don't repost this to 6 videos a girl with no face with kill you tonight. sorry don't wanna die
@GHeroandRScape true, it's not perfect and they will never have Dio's voice in there or Ritchie Blackmore's guitar yet it's a great cover of the song. Considering the atrocities done when covering other great songs like the fiasco that Santana did with Riders on the Storm and Back in Black you should be happy about this cover.
@mobby32 It does seem weak...and it IS becuase you're comparing it to the IMMORTAL DIO....BUT....it's not a bad cover at all. However, bands should bring up the beat about 2/4 more. Ever hear Ronnie sing this super fast w/Doug absolutely blasting at Mach 5? IT'S FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
@mobby32 no no...MACH 5 meaning Aldrich plays the entire riff really fast sort of a speed metal version....awesome...and you can find it here on youtube....
Price of silver is on the rise and nothing in this world is going to stop it right now. So ride the bullet or get shot by it. That's just the truth baby !
This is actually a pretty good cover! Granted, I'm partial to the original, especially when you get into Dio's solo pieces on the tours with Rainbow. I'm a huge DIO fan, and no one will ever have that exact 'snap, growl and colored fire' to their voice that he alone possessed but I think he'd have been quite flattered by all the covers. :) Keep on rocking!
I think this is a great cover, love the harmonies in the chorus! I don't like when people try to tell other people what's what, when they have no idea what they're talking about. do you research =p
@xAlucard9000x No, actually if you took the time to look it up you would see that this was originally done by Rainbow. If you were any kind of true metal head you would know of Dio's band history. Heres his history in a nutshell: Ronnie & the Red Caps 1958-1960, Ronnie Dio and the Prophets 1962-1967, The Electric Elves 1967-1969, The Elves 1969-1971, Elf 1972-1975, Rainbow 1975-1978, Black Sabbath 1979-1982, Dio (the band) 1982-2010 (RIP), Heaven and Hell 2006-2010. And now you know.
@xAlucard9000x "Dio's vocals caught the ear of Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, and when Blackmore left the band, he recruited Dio and other members of Elf to form Rainbow. Rainbow released its debut as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow in 1975. Dio recorded two more classic albums (Rising and Long Live Rock'n'Roll) and the live album On Stage with Rainbow, but he left the band due to creative differences: Blackmore had wanted to take the band in a more commercial direction." -Wik Ronnie J Dio
